Hi ladies I'm joining you from the June July board after getting my BFN today. It was my first try with IVF and it was a fresh cycle. I know my doctor really wants me to wait a month but I'm going to try to convince him to let me try a frozen cycle in August when I'm still off of work. Over the next couple of days I'm going to read all the threads on this board to try to get to know you all. I wish you all luck in this journey.

@lilmisslp- welcome to the group, but so sorry you are here! I can't imagine how hard that is and my thoughts are with you. I totally understand wanting to get going again right away in August. If you have some frozen, I don't see why that should be an issue? I could see how doing two fresh right in a row would be hard on the body... but my understanding is that the drugs so much less for the FET. Good luck and hope you are able to get going soon!

@lilmissslp I hate that we are both over here . My RE was actually all about me starting again right away but a planned vacation for me and DH is delaying things about 5 weeks. Hopefully yours will let you start again in August
@RVloution I started my stims last Thursday and have had a dull headache that won't quit. Just starting to feel a little bloating, but not too bad yet!! I started on gonal F 225 that was just increased to 300, and Menopur 75.
@kyrgyzshan does the bloat go away when u get the trigger shot??
@ADRIANAC1982 I had my first ultra sound yesterday and got pretty much the same results as you! 18 total, 16 measuring above 5mm and biggest at 8mm. They upped my gonal F to 300 and menopur staying at 75. I go back in tomorrow. When is your ER planned for?

@mtpbadger happy to have a familiar face but so sad we're both here! Im glad to hear your RE was on board with moving forward and I hope mine will be too! I'm sure a vacation will be nice!
@Andreap681 I'm not happy to be back either but trying to move forward. Glad to hear you've got 18 growing!

@bells52000 I just met with my RE today to discuss my next cycle. This will be my 3rd try. The first 2 ended with all but one of the embryos dying and the last one that was transferred was a very poor quality. My doc said today that she'd think that we wouldn't even be able to do testing since my embryos don't seem to want to make it to day 5 so we wouldn't have any to test. So, since you don't know the outcome of your eggs and how many fertilize, I'd ask if there's a way to check quality early on (day 2?) and play it by ear- if that's a choice. I'm 35 and came in to IVF not wanting to "waste" extra time on testing, but now it looks like I wouldn't even be able to if I'd chosen to do it. I hope your embryos are great quality and have good PGS results!! Good luck!!
AFM - I met w my RE today to consult about my cycle. This will be my 3rd try and she's changing up the protocol for estrogen priming with patches this time around. I'll go back on Friday (day 10) to check follicles and trigger ovulation when told. Next week I'll start vivelle patches until my period comes and then immediately start injections. Looks like end of August retrieval and transfer. I'm frustrated with this roller coaster we're on but glad for the quick turn around into the next cycle!
@kyrgyzshan I hate seeing familiar faces over here! Glad that your RE has a different plan for you, fx that it will work! I'll be starting my second FET the end of August so maybe we will be transfer buddies! (if my lining cooperates this time)
@kyrgyzshan I had much better luck with the patches than with the estrogen pills. i hope those work better for you.
@lilmisssip Sorry to hear about your BFN. Glad you are joining us here.
Day 1 of meds for me today ... I just took the Clomid after work and am quite paranoid about the side effects. None of the normal IVF meds have affected me much other than always feeling gassy; hopefully Clomid doesn't mess me up too much
@lilmissslp I'm so sorry to hear the news. I too got a BFN from my fresh IVF in May/June. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I was waaay overstimulated... I think they said my estrogen was in the 2000 range (normal is 200!!), so they weren't too surprised with my results. Bc of that, they made me take a break before my FET. My body needed a month for my estrogen and progesterone to go back to normal levels. I understand wanting to start as soon as possible, but sometimes it's better to let your body rest and be in perfect condition to conceive! Wishing you the best! Many *hugs*!

@babylonghorn16 and @lilmissslp - welcome to the august/september thread! i'm so so sorry to see the two of you here, but it's nice to "see" familiar faces...!
@PhotogDana. Waiting a week will drive me crazy. @JamieH2000@kyrgyzshan@gatorlorit@babylonghorn16 and @Andreap681. Thank you for your help and insights! I am back on the positive side of getting the testing done! If I am fortunate enough for some of these to make it to day 5, I think it is worth it to just go all in for whatever gives this the best chance of working. I have to freeze no matter what because my prog was 2.79 at trigger day. So I have to wait no matter what to do the transfer.
What was so unclear to me for freaking days is finally a no brainier. Thanks.
welcome @mtpbadger I hope things go well for you! This is a smart place to be. The people here have great knowledge. As a newbie, it is really helpful!
@AugustAng oh that doesn't sound nice at all! My acupuncturist always checks that I'm comfortable and warm, could you ask for a blanket or towel or something? I'm going once a week until ER and then I'll go once in between ER and ET and then transfer day. I can't remember after that...
welcome @mtpbadger@RVloution and good luck. @RVloution in my last cycle I had little side effects besides the bloating and generally feeling a bit off.
@jodes727 hoping there is no OHSS and your transfer goes smoothly
Good luck @LittleSunshine with your scheduled transfer! I know that feeling, you want to stay optimistic but also realistic.
@lrynwnab when I was taking clomid, I took it at night to avoid most of the side effects.. somebody recommended that to me. hopefully you won't have any side effects with this either.
AFM: I had my baseline blood test today and have just been given the all clear to start the stims. Everything is looking good and hoping to have my ER before 8/10 as hubby will be extremely busy the next week and won't be able to be there for transfer day.
ps I really need to check this thread more often as it seems to move really quickly haha

@caseyw8784 sorry to be here together but it is nice to have some familiar faces.
I'm having a hard day today. I know it's not quite on topic, but today marks one year since my Dad took his own life. The past year has been an enormous struggle, and our IF issues certainly did not help. Every time we reach a milestone with our IUIs or IVF, I still have the urge to call him.
I'm really hoping we get good news on our PGS testing today. I think that would help a lot. I was having a hard time deciding what to do today to honor his memory, and finally decided I'd go donate blood- something he did quite often. I saw that Red Cross has a shortage right now and, heck, I'm an old pro and giving blood now, so why not?

@LeFemmeViolette I recognize your name from the June/July board. I'm so sorry this is a rough day for you but I love your idea of donating blood. What a sweet way to honor your father.
AFM- my husband just talked to our RE and he is fine with us jumping right into a frozen cycle. He agrees it'll be less stressful since I still won't be working. I feel so much better knowing we have a plan and I just hope I can remain hopeful and positive.

@Andreap681 The RE hasnt told us about the date for the ER, for some reason they dont like to give dates that way. So I just patiently wait for the next round of instructions. The nurse last night told me probably another week of meds though.....Blah
I got back tomorrow for another ultrasound and b/w so well see. My head is killing though so the sooner the better, I suffer from migraines so this does not help especially when I can only take tylenol.

@lilmissslp - I'm really glad that you're feeling better about the plan and that you'll get to jump right in to a FET! Knowing the next steps always makes waiting easier, than not knowing and feeling stuck in "limbo"!
I just received our results from PGS testing. Of the four remaining embryos, only one tested normal. One.
Apparently the other three were all missing chromosomes. I'm just shocked. I really thought the results would be better. I know one is better than none, and one is "all you need" but shit...
This pretty much guarantees we have to go through this bullshit again. Whether this one fails or even if it doesn't and we want to have another kid.
On top of all this, my husband is out of town, and therefore I now have to have a Dr appointment to discuss how shitty our embryos are tomorrow by myself.
I'm sorry to be so negative. This day was hard enough already and I feel like I just got kicked while I'm down.

@LeFemmeViolette I'm really sorry you're going through that and particularly that you'll have to attend the appointment alone. I've had to fly solo during tough visits with the specialist and I know how hard it is. Take it easy on yourself - you are well within your right to be negative about this. Sometimes you can't just "look on the bright side" when it comes to IF. It just flat out sucks.
@LeFemmeViolette - I'm so sorry about the embryo results...hopefully your doctor will have some ideas on how to improve egg quality or whatnot that you can implement for the next round. Also, I think that if/when you go give blood today, you should steal ALLLLLLL the cookies...and then go get yourself a nice bottle of wine. and/or ice cream. you deserve it, especially if DH is out of town today!
(side note: we used to never keep ice cream and/or a lot of junk food in the house. lately though (since the ivf journey started), there's been a resident tub of Breyer's in the freezer, along with hot fudge and whipped cream in the fridge and jimmies in the pantry...)
@LeFemmeViolette oh gosh, I'm so sorry today has been so crappy already. Sometimes there is nothing to do but to just be negative and curse this whole process... I love to get a bottle of wine and throw a "pity party" when I'm particularly down. When the time is right, you'll pick yourself up and continue to do whatever is necessary... just takes a little time. I wish you had gotten better news. Keep holding on hope! You will be so much stronger for it! hugs to you!
@lilmissslp glad your RE agreed to start your next cycle!! So exciting! FX for you!
AFM - moving along with these PIO shots! The shot itself isn't too bad - I ice beforehand so I don't feel much - but the soreness after is no joke. Attempted an early jog this morn, and ended up speed walking. Felt like someone was punching me in the left butt cheek with every stride! The funniest thing is that my DH said this morn "it's insane how many shots you have to take!!"... I was like, this is nothing! I was doing 3 a day before my ER... he just wasn't administering, so he didn't realize. So these PIO shots have gotten him closer to the action, which gives him a whole new appreciation for what I'm going through... silver lining, girls! lol

@babylonghorn16 Glad you decided to hop on over here! Just 2 days until your transfer! Yay!
@lilmissslp I'm so sorry to read about your BFN over here Thank goodness your doc is letting you jump right into a frozen cycle so that you can move forward so quickly. Hugs.
@LeFemmeViolette There are no words. I'm so sorry this is such a shitty day for you. Proud of you for giving blood to honor your dad's memory.
AFM, I am officially triggering tonight and retrieval is scheduled for 8:45 am on Friday! The nurse stopped counting after 17 mature follicles, so I think it's safe to say I'm ready to go. My doctor called me back about an hour later to tell me my estrogen is 2600. I asked if that was good and he said yes. I'm guessing that's really high, because when I did IUIs I believe it was around 600 at this point. My trigger shot was changed to lupron and HCG, which the nurse said is because I have so many follicles and to avoid hyper stimulation. I also stocked up on gatorade to keep myself hydrated. I'm so uncomfortable so I'm very ready to get this little buggers OUT!

@Rachnan yay for bedrest/binge watching! @LeFemmeViolette sorry you're having a sucky time...i often think f this @babylonghorn16 my DH is clueless, literally almost passed out at the shot training and hasn't done any yet. He keeps saying, when do i have to start so maybe he'll get into it more. @teriulbricht looks like we are close to the same schedule I'm having my baseline tomorrow with an ER sometime the week of 8/8 (fx) @kyrgyzshan PGD isn't an option for us either. My RE isn't expecting many eggs and she'll not willing to chance day 5 if we don't have too. I love being "of advanced maternal age" I thought 40 was the new black I've been estrogen priming for almost a month now...I should be well primed now?
afm - baseline tomorrow, as long as b/w looks okay i'll start stimming tomorrow night! I really hope my baseline looks good, but I'm pretty hopeful this time. Well you know mostly hopeful with little bouts of dread here and there.

Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon ( ) IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle) IUI cancelled ovulated too soon again. Taking a mental health break. IVF#5 December 2016 - New protocol, same results. My adventure is over.
@LeFemmeViolette- I can't imagine what a hard day this is. I agree with all the others that today you should eat, drink, do whatever you want, and feel however you feel. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. When I hear about PGS results like that... I just wonder how the heck anyone gets pregnant naturally in 1,2, or 3 months! Life is just not fair sometimes.
@lilmissslp - So glad you are getting started right away. I think it really helps to move on from a BFN when you can get going again right away.
@Rachnan- congrats on being PUPO!! Did you transfer 1 or 2 if I may ask?
@wifeinraleigh28- Wow, what good numbers! FX on a smooth ER and recovery!

@wifeinraleigh28 what great numbers!! Yay for triggering and good luck on Friday! Do you have any special socks or anything planned for you and DH after?
There is so much going on today. Welcome to all the new commers and wishing the best of luck to all those starting stims/ER/ET over the next few days!!
Update: Had my check in appt today. I had one egg measuring ahead of the rest at 20mm the others were between 13-17mm with a few lagging behind that he didn't bother measuring. He asked me if I could hold off and do an extra day of stims tonight and come back tomorrow morning. He prefers we do this and let atleast one more follicle catch up a bit. With that I'll trigger tomorrow and ER will now be Saturday. I am ok with that because the funeral is Friday and now I don't have to stress about missing it or trying time ER to still make a portion, etc. I am however feeling really "full" and so ready to be over this.
A plus for Saturday retrieval is the RE I saw today will be the one doing it! He is very personable and one of the easiest ones to talk to. So I'm excited about that.
@LeFemmeViolette so sorry for the bad news. Sending you strength and prayers.
@Sunnshine sounds like Things are going well and you have a good plan! Glad that timing works out better for you r schedule. Wishing you peace and closure regarding your step dad.

Hi all! I'm new to this thread but not new to the board. I see lots of familiar faces from my last cycle (waves hi). I've been creeping on this thread and quietly cheering you ladies on for a while but didn't quite feel ready to post until today.
I am currently waiting for AF to start my next FET cycle with a transfer happening hopefully around the middle of August. Once AF shows up, I will have a better idea of our schedule. We're doing e-patches, ganerelix, and PIO this cycle. Fingers crossed that FET #3 is the lucky one for us.
Random question for you ladies. I have certain go-to songs that I like to listen to during a cycle, especially at night before I go to sleep - to keep myself focused and calm and hopeful. For all 4 of my cycles, that has always been Bon Iver's Holocene. But I'm considering trying a new song. Does anyone else do this? Any suggestions for favorite calming/hopeful songs? Please share!

@BlueEyedDreamer Hiiii!!! Glad you're joining this board! I really love Simon and Garfunkel's Only Living Boy in New York. When I hear it, I immediately relax. Such a lovely tune! Not sure if the lyrics are very meaningful per say... but one of them is "Hey, I've got nothing to do today but smile." which makes me happy. Take a listen! Hope you like it! FX for your upcoming FET!

@LeFemmeViolette I am soooo very sorry to hear about your day, and so very sorry for the bad news. I am sending you my thoughts and prayers!
@Rachnan Great to hear the transfer went well and congrats on being the first one PUPO!!
@wifeinraleigh28 Great numbers you have there! I had 23 follies ready for my ER and out of them 15 were able to mature with ICIS. I didn't do PGS testing so not sure how many of my 8 that made it to freeze were normal but we will just keep on transferring!! GL with your ER on Friday!!
@Sunnshine Good luck with your retrieval this weekend as well!!
I can't wait to see more retrievals in the next week!!
AFM I had my final U/S and BW appointment this morning. Coordinator called back and we got the final green light on the transfer! My lining was 10b( I think they said that anyways...all I know it was more than 10) and my ovaries were nice and quiet! So yay on that! I had to wait FOREVER to go over 10 mins of paperwork with my coordinator because the couple before me was learning how to do injections so I literally left the Dr. Office this morning at 11:20 and I got there at 9:30! Can't wait for those days to be over haha(the days of waiting that is). I went ahead and scheduled my Beta. They wanted me to come in on Monday the 15th but I asked if there was ANY WAY I could come on the Friday before. I said waiting til Monday would be horrible so they said it would be fine!

@lilmisssip Sorry to hear about your BFN. Glad you are joining us here.
Day 1 of meds for me today ... I just took the Clomid after work and am quite paranoid about the side effects. None of the normal IVF meds have affected me much other than always feeling gassy; hopefully Clomid doesn't mess me up too much
@kyrgyzshan my RE is putting me on the patches this next go-round as well. Fx that is it trick for both of us

@AugustAng oh that doesn't sound nice at all! My acupuncturist always checks that I'm comfortable and warm, could you ask for a blanket or towel or something? I'm going once a week until ER and then I'll go once in between ER and ET and then transfer day. I can't remember after that...
Good luck @Rachnan hope all goes well!
@Sunnshine and @PhotogDana good luck for friday!!
and @Sunnshine sorry about your news, hope you're doing ok
welcome @mtpbadger @RVloution and good luck.
@ADRIANAC1982 you poor thing! how mortifying ha..
@lilmissslp sorry for your BFN, but good luck
@lrynwnab when I was taking clomid, I took it at night to avoid most of the side effects.. somebody recommended that to me. hopefully you won't have any side effects with this either.

I had my baseline blood test today and have just been given the all clear to start the stims. Everything is looking good and hoping to have my ER before 8/10 as hubby will be extremely busy the next week and won't be able to be there for transfer day.

Apparently the other three were all missing chromosomes. I'm just shocked. I really thought the results would be better. I know one is better than none, and one is "all you need" but shit...
This pretty much guarantees we have to go through this bullshit again. Whether this one fails or even if it doesn't and we want to have another kid.
On top of all this, my husband is out of town, and therefore I now have to have a Dr appointment to discuss how shitty our embryos are tomorrow by myself.
I'm sorry to be so negative. This day was hard enough already and I feel like I just got kicked while I'm down.

@lilmissslp I'm so sorry to read about your BFN over here
@LeFemmeViolette There are no words.

@LeFemmeViolette sorry you're having a sucky time...i often think f this
@babylonghorn16 my DH is clueless, literally almost passed out at the shot training and hasn't done any yet. He keeps saying, when do i have to start so maybe he'll get into it more.
@teriulbricht looks like we are close to the same schedule I'm having my baseline tomorrow with an ER sometime the week of 8/8 (fx)
@kyrgyzshan PGD isn't an option for us either. My RE isn't expecting many eggs and she'll not willing to chance day 5 if we don't have too. I love being "of advanced maternal age" I thought 40 was the new black
afm - baseline tomorrow, as long as b/w looks okay i'll start stimming tomorrow night! I really hope my baseline looks good, but I'm pretty hopeful this time. Well you know mostly hopeful with little bouts of dread here and there.
IVF #1 scheduled May 2016 - 375/525 follistim, 75 menopur - cancelled cycle Day 6

Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon (
IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle)

@lefemmeviolette sorry you are having a bad day. ::Hugs::
@Sunnshine sounds like Things are going well and you have a good plan! Glad that timing works out better for you r schedule. Wishing you peace and closure regarding your step dad.
Just came from second ultrasound. I've got 20 between 5mm and 11mm. Hoping some of those little guys catch up!!
