@nlane0723 happy birthday! It's my bday too! I wanted to ask you that before but thought it may seem a little inappropriate from an Internet stranger, especially since numbers in screen names can be a lot of things.
Anyway mine is bday related too: my mom watched my dd so dh and I could go to the movies and out to lunch. We saw Star Trek, which wasn't as good as I hoped and I had to spend half of the movie with my eyes closed because they kept doing fly overs and twisting and turning the camera. As someone who gets motion sickness practically everywhere, it wasn't good. Then we went to Home Depot to pick out appliances (which is actually fun for me) but then dh found a different flooring he likes and now wants to change everything I had planned for the kitchen to go with that flooring. Then onto panera which I had been craving, but they changed their salads and there was a bitter green I wasn't used to so it just wasn't the same, and I made dh do the highlighting of the top 1000 baby names so we could get moving on a name for this lo. We didn't have a SINGLE name in common. Not one. *deep breathe*. Then on to my moms where my brothers and sisters came over for dinner. It was spaghetti and meatballs (which I asked for) but I could only eat one small bowl full because I just can't eat a lot...
If those aren't petty problems, I don't know what is!! It was a great day overall, but all these little disappointments kept coming up.
@kelliot09 it's not petty, I think we have all reached the crotchety nesting phase where we just want our homes and nurseries to look perfect for the babies coupled w the heat making us insane. lol
i mean I'm sure if I didn't feel the same way about curtains and stuff as you I would probably be like "ok ladies..." but symmetry matters!!! lol
@nlane0723@maf9866 Happy birthday ladies! My stepson's birthday is tomorrow!
My second petty problem: I'm running out of things I want to binge watch on Netflix. Penny Dreadful was a bust for me. Trying Bitten cause my friends have raved about it, but I'm not a big werewolf fan. Lol
SO petty but... people aren't buying things off of my registry! The shower is two weeks away, and I know a lot of people like to shop last minute and others may have Amazon Prime, but I'm still worried that either many of my relatives are not coming or not getting me presents, or that a lot of people are just going to buy off registry. I needs my stuff! It sucks to watch the Texas Zika count rise every damn day but my registry numbers have been the same for more than a week now (and most of the stuff bought was by my own mother.)
@rainmira9e I am in the same boat. the car seats sit there and I get anxiety because the random stuff that was purchased is clearly necessary too, but how is she going to get here to use it?
Right? I had a shower, and only 2 people out of about 15 bought stuff off my registry. Everyone else was just clothes! It's nice of them to come, but soooo much clothes that she won't fit in for long anyways.
Happy Birthday @nlane0723 and @maf9866 !! I know we're talking petty problems, but hope you ended up with some good celebrating!
My problem - heartburn. I've never had it, and thought I was getting away with not getting it this pregnancy...until today. Just started happening in the middle of the afternoon and won't stop. It. Sucks. I am so sorry for all you who have been dealing with it for so long! I didn't know how awful it was! I just want to cry!
@LMNOBaby this is why I'm up at 1:30 am ... The effin heartburn!!!! Sorry you are feeling it now too. I don't wish it upon anyone. Tums will be your best friend. And if it's that bad we are allowed Zantac. Go for it!
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
@sportiegrl1213 it's why I'm up, too!! And on too of it,my stomach feels all weird, almost feel like the heartburn is making me want to throw up. I'm about to run out in my pyjamas and start tracking down Tums in the middle of the night...
Oh yeah @LMNOBaby it'll definitely make you feel nauseous. Hope you find some relief

I know it's Sunday, but I'm still suffering from petty problems. I was hungry, so I got up to make a PB&J, and now I've been tossing and turning for an hour. I give up, I'm not getting back to sleep.
@RainMira9e... This is also a fear of mine too because of the cost of a lot of our items. I'm worried that because one item is $50 and not as fun seeming to people that they'll just end up going rogue. Though I had to laugh yesterday... My mom doesn't realize that when she says to send an e-receipt, they send it to me right away. She's already purchased the PnP for us, so anything else really is just so generous. Anyway, she had an e-receipt sent yesterday, a Sophie the Giraffe that someone already purchased and 3 off registry clothing/blanket items. Registry purchase fail lol... But it did make me worry that's what others might do too. But I guess I have zero control so I should stop worrying.
@kelliott09 - just had a great idea! They sell no sew hem strips where you can just fold them up with the tape stuff in there (I'd measure and pin so you know the hem is straight and will stay that way) and then you iron. Curtains hemmed! Sounds like you may already have purchased the shorter ones, but if not, you should do that! It's what I used to do before I knew how to sew.
eta- you'd obviously remove the pins once you've applied the heat to make the seal.
What!! I've never heard of such a thing. That's awesome. I did buy shorter ones before I realized it was an issue. No worries, I didn't pay much for them. I think they came from Ross. I really like them though and am hoping I can find something similar, just longer. Thank you so much! You've totally solved my petty problem.

Yes! Get some Zantac! It's been my best friend for 3 pregnancies now. This time for me, the heartburn started really early at 12 weeks. Tums only works temporarily. Zantac works for like 12 hours I think. It's great!

Well I sit here all day, staring at my walls, wondering why we've lived here for almost 5 years and never put any effort into decorating. I guess when I was working all the time, I didn't really think about it, but now it's driving me crazy. Pinterest doesn't help either. I'm sure my SO loves when he comes home and hears "so I was thinking..." or "you know what we should do?" Haha
@RainMira9e and others about the registries...people bought a bunch of stuff last minute (like, the night before and morning of my shower) so don't worry, you'll most likely be pleasantly surprised...and if they went off the registry and got you stuff that's definitely not needed, you can usually exchange if you figure out where it's from!

This is what I plan to do if needed. My shower isn't until 8/21 but so far, very little has been bought off my registry. I'm grateful for any gift given and I feel bad already but if I get a bunch of clothes that he'll never wear or can't wear for a year, I will definitely exchange for the things we need.

@uponastar16 That's what I'm hoping, although we got several off-registry gifts for our wedding we couldn't return because we couldn't figure out where the heck they were from (at least one was not even in the original box - classy.) However, also because half of our stuff is from Amazon, they can't wait *that* last minute. *sigh*
I'm sorry I was more trying to call her out for being a catfish and they interpreted it differently. I'm fat myself why would I call someone fat?
I think it just came across really poorly. Best you can do now is own it, apologize (at a minimum, that girl deserves one even if you don't feel you can apologize to their board), and move on.... And don't stress about it. The issue will pass eventually and it's a lesson learned.
I am restricted from cleaning and doing anything other than really moving between rooms, laying down, sitting down, fixing myself something small in the kitchen, showering, etc.
All I want to do is clean. That's it. It would make me so happy so clean this house from top to bottom and then revel in my accomplishments. But K (my wife, and it's easier to type K than SO or something else) is doing the entire house and I'm forced to watch real housewives, eat, and watch her.
I I guess my petty problem is that I want to clean, but can't, but I have an amazing partner who does it for me, but I'm irritated that I can't do it. That's pretty petty.
I feel for you @sjo_thetwins! Cleaning is (at times) almost therapeutic for me. I would go crazy if I couldn't at least sweep up the dog hair - this is a pet peeve of mine! But way to go & lots of kudos to your SO for coming through & doing it all! I pretty sure my H couldn't really care less & would never have the initiative to clean if I didn't.
Okay I know it's Sunday, but hubby just woke me up from a nap to ask when I was planning on waking up, but I told him I set myself an alarm and now I can't get back to sleep
DH said if I watch an episode of Daredevil, he'd watch an episode of Sherlock. We watched Daredevil (it was decent, I'll keep watching it) but guess what we're watching now?
That's right, not Sherlock, but an old episode of Supernatural. I'm half tempted to just go to bed.
What a poop-face.

@Kaessi yes sweeping the dog hair is my favorite therapeutic thing to do as well!! It gives me so much satisfaction to see the clean floor where the dirt was. So weird. Lol. She got the whole house clean - in twice the amount of time it takes me - but clean, nonetheless. I can't complain too much.
@bnsmith85 I wish I knew how because I totally would just do that. And I'm far too cheap to pay someone. It just seems like there would be more length options. I mean, that an 11" difference. Makes no sense.
It's honesty super easy to hem curtains. I've never used a sewing machine in my life and did a whole bunch in my house. Key is to meaure carefully, iron a nice seam and pin them tight so when you sew it it's easier to get it straight. I borrowed my aunties machine and she even helped me with the first panel to show me how easy it was. If I can do it, you can for sure! I hadn't even sewen a button on prior and didn't even own a needle and thread that's how little I knew about it.
