    How are you feeling?
My whole body hurts. My back and feet especially. I can't walk across campus at work anymore today, I'm done.

How many children do you have? Ages?
    1 DD, 22 months

    What team are you?
    Pink!

Any rants/raves about your older children this week?
I think she may have HFM, but I'm still not sure because she doesn't have a fever. She also has been waking at 1:00 every night. But she screamed when I picked her up from daycare out of sheer excitement to see me so.... :D

    Any questions?
    Nope!

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?
I really enjoyed labor! I liked the excitement about the unknown and experiencing something I had thought about my whole life! least excited about possibly tearing or needing a CSection.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?
I wasn't named for 3 days. I was a C Section baby so mom was in the hospital a while since it was the 80's. They were so sure I would be a boy. Mom thought of my name and dad agreed and here I am!

How are you feeling? Overwhelmed, behind, terrified

     Children: 1 soon-to-be 2 year old girl

Older Child Rants/Raves: I held a three month old baby at a memorial service today and my daughter went into an ape shit jealous rage. My husband had to remove her for the remainder of the service. She has me really dreading her reaction to a baby that will ALWAYS be netting her less attention.

Questions: yes, I was going to ask people what they actually registered for. It's time for me to purchase off my own registry and I don't want to forget anything. Maybe I'll make a thread.

How did my parents come up with my name: My mom didn't want to do a family name and my dad suggested a name that my mom liked and didn't tell her that it was his Aunt's real name until after they'd already given it to me.

How are you feeling? Pretty good, hungry!

How many children do you have? Ages? 2 boys ages 6 and 4

What team are you? Team Pink!!

Any rants/raves about your older children this week?  I want to rave on both of them because they woke themselves up which saved me like 15 minutes this morning.

Any questions?  How much more do you have to do in order to be "ready" for this baby?  I feel we have everything we need but most of it is still in boxes with the exception of furniture.  We have some diapers but still need wipes and formula and of course washing everything.

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?  I am hoping there won't be any labor for me to look forward to and I hope they will be scheduling my c-section on Monday.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?  My mom fell in love with my name from a movie.

How are you feeling? Like absolute crap

How many children do you have? Ages? Dom will be two in exactly one month

What team are you? Pink times two

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? He is learning so many words, and then sometimes refuses to use them and I have NO CLUE what he wants.  Use your words, child.

    Any questions? Nope

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least? I'm excited to see what it's like with twins, and will be very proud of myself for doing it.  I'm most anxious about when I'll go into labor, I really hope they stay in long enough.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?  My parents named me after my great grandmother Emily but it wasn't really her name, just a nickname.  We're naming one of the twins her actual given name, it's oddly not that similar to Emily.

How many children do you have? Ages? 1 daughter, 22 months.

What team are you? Team Pink!

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? Can't think of any this week.

    Any questions? None.

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least? Most looking forward to it being over and meeting my baby. Least looking forward to everything else.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?

My dad picked my first name from a baby book. My middle name is my mom's name.

  • How far along are you? 34 weeks

How are you feeling? Kind of awful. Hate to complain but just keepin' it real. I'm hard on myself because I feel the need to "superhero" through everything...it's validating to read that others are having a rough go as well (though I'd never wish it on anyone!)

How many children do you have? Ages? One DD, almost 3.

    What team are you? Green!

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? Rave - DD is so incredibly compassionate towards others, especially when they're hurt or sick or sad. I've never seen a child her age drop what they're playing with in concern over another and try to help. I love that about her and think it will make her an excellent big sister!

    Any questions? None

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least? Most - meeting baby, the strange adrenaline-induced excitement that accompanies the experience and announcing the event to the world! Least - terrified of any complications...long labor, big baby, health issues for baby or I, csection, tearing, etc. Just want things to go as smoothly as last time but not confident that I'll get that lucky twice.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name? Parents both just liked it (along with 3.5% of the population, haha). My middle name is after my Mom and Grandma. DD now shares it with us too.

  • How far along are you? 30 + 4

How are you feeling? So tired, and my feet are killing me!  My heals specifically.

How many children do you have? Ages? 2 boys - 4 and 5 (will be 6 in 2 weeks)

What team are you? Green (although I think the midwife slipped at my last appt)

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? DS1 is in summer camp and is surrounded by older kids.  He's picking up on their attitudes and I can't stand it.  He's normally such a good, sweet kid but the past few weeks he's developed this attitude that I want to smack out of him!  DS2 is excited to be a big brother and keeps talking about what he'll do for/with baby.  It's really cute that he's so excited about it, but I'm a little worried since he's such a momma's boy.

    Any questions? nope

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?  I'm kind of looking forward to a planned c-section rather than going into labor first.  My last two were c-sections (first was an emergency c-section, second time DS came early and I went into labor first).  Something about having it all planned out makes it seem so much nicer than rushing to the hospital and trying to figure out who will pick up the boys and all that.  I'd rather it just go according to plan, but I know better than to think that will actually happen.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name? I was actually born overseas and my mom found my name in a baby book and loved it.  She didn't know any other people with my name and thought it was really original.  Two years later when they moved back to the states, they realized it was a SUPER popular name.  My middle name, although also common, is after my cousin who died as an infant just months before I was born.
  • How far along are you? 33.5 weeks

How are you feeling? Overall, really really good. A few aches and pains overnight, and I have to waddle a few steps each time I stand, but doing it!

How many children do you have? Ages? 1 son, 19 months

What team are you? Blue #2

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? He's been really sweet, sharing his sippy cup of milk and blankets that he chews on (soothing items) with us and stuffed animals and our dog. He's such a sweet little nugget.. then again if a kid steals a toy from him and they don't pay attention to his desperate screams of "MINE!" there's a chance he'll bite them (has never broken skin)... so big brother life could be VERY interesting around our house. He's also doing amazingly well in the older toddler room at daycare and is by far the youngest.  Take 2 hour naps.. on a COT instead of a crib, he's very adaptive.

    Any questions? Nope

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least? I really enjoyed labor, and hope to enjoy it again. I like challenges and proving I can do things, I'm extremely competitive. Looking forward least is being in the hospital for a few days and only getting to see Emmett when he comes to visit. My parents will stay with him, not sure yet if husband will stay in hospital with me or go home to Emmett each night - it breaks my heart to think of leaving him out of it all.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name? I am named after my mother's aunt.. plain and simple.

  • @AnnaS930 I got really sad last night thinking of not being with DD while I'm in the hospital. I'm really excited about birth and all of it, but then I started to get a little anxious thinking about the fact that it's all happening to bring her little sister into the world. That's a big deal!
  • @MrsVoorhees - I'm so right there with you.  Super excited and excited to give Emmett a brother.. and of course I devoted a lot of time to him as a newborn, and baby #2 deserves that too... I think he'll still be a bit too young for it to really set in (we've left him with my parents for a weekend before and he wasn't sobbing the whole time or anything), it's just hard.

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? I took my two youngest to my ultrasound yesterday, it was a 4d one.  We had talked about it before and they were super excited.  Yesterday all I heard was "This is boring.  Can we go back to the waiting room?"

    Any questions?

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?  I'm having a c/s so I'm looking forward to it being fast.  Not looking forward to the spinal.

    How are you feeling?
Just so so tired and annoyingly emotional.
How many children do you have? Ages?
    2 boys. 2 and 1 ( 28mo and 14 mo)
    What team are you?
Half team green. I let my husband find out the gender for our anniversary. I think he may have let it slip that it's another boy. But I still don't know for sure.
Any rants/raves about your older children this week?
They are at difficult ages that's for sure. The 1 year old is a trouble maker and wants to get into everything he shouldn't. It's exhausting. I let Sebastian watch tv pretty much everytime Simon is napping, that way I can rest. I feel like a bad mom.
    Any questions?
I can't decide what's harder being this pregnant or having a newborn? I actually think they third time around having a newborn is going to be easier. Sometimes I'm so excited to meet this third baby and then other times I'm like I'm not ready for this. Stay in as long as possible.
What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?
Most looking forward to see when I go into labor and how long this labor lasts. First was 12 hours and 11 days early, second 3.5 hours and 20 days early.  I'm thinking this will be somewhere in the middle for time and date. Least looking forward to the pain during the transition period.
GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?
I have asked my mom numerous times and I always forget. I think she said they both just liked it. I'm a Maria. I love my name. It's not popular around here.

How far along are you? 31+2

How are you feeling? Pretty good overall. Sciatic pain is annoying at times, but I can't complain much.

How many children do you have? Ages? 1 DD age 19 months

What team are you? Pink again!

Any rants/raves about your older children this week? My DD had an incredible temper, but she's really learning to control it. She can be so insanely sweet with other kids: sharing, waiting her turn, saying "nice" if they hit her, etc. Then there are other times when she smacks a kid because they get too close. It will be interesting with a baby.
My main rave is that she started saying "love you" this week and it is just the sweetest thing.

Any questions? So many. I just don't know what exactly. I feel so unprepared this time. The BTDT post about registries was helpful, and I'm going to add stuff to mine today. I've had an attitude of 'we've done this before, it's no big deal' the whole time, but now that we're getting close I feel so unprepared.

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least? I'm hoping to actually experience labor this time. My water broke last time but my body didn't do anything else. Baby couldn't handle the pit so I ended up with a c-section. I'm really really hoping for a VBAC and for things to progress on their own this time.

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name? My mom liked the name Danielle only because she wanted to call me Dani.

Edit because I'm apparently not awake enough for coherent thoughts.

How are you feeling?  Pretty good!

How many children do you have? Ages? 2 kids, ages 3 (girl) and 5 (boy).

    What team are you? Blue!

Any rants/raves about your older children this week?  It really depends on the day whether it is a rant or a rave.  They were being really awful to each other over the weekend and would not stop fighting.  But this week has been better.  DS is such a sweet big brother.  On Monday he had a t-ball game that was kids vs. parents and DH played on the parents team (while I sat on the bench lol) and DD (who is dying to play t-ball but is too young for the 4/5 year old league) got to play with the rest of the kids.  After the game DS was so adorable giving DD hugs and telling her "I'm so proud of you!"  Melt my heart!

Any questions? Can't think of any!

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?  I love the L&D process and the excitement and anticipation of meeting your new baby.  I've had three successful vaginal deliveries with easy recoveries so I'm really hoping that will be the case this time as well.  I guess I'm least looking forward to (and am already experiencing) the anxiety of the unknown.  After a very traumatic birth and NICU stay that we were not prepared for I am having somewhat irrational fears about something awful happening and not getting to bring this baby home.  I know the odds of that are so small and that I shouldn't worry.  But with our history, I can't help but feel anxious.  I am so ready to just have him here and know he's going to be okay!

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?  I'm sure they just liked the name along with everyone else who named their daughter Sara in the 80's.  I know they were deciding between Sara and Elizabeth and decided to go with Sara but no real story behind it.

Any rants/raves about your older children this week?

Always - I have teenagers! The oldest wants all the rights with none of the responsibilities. She's incredibly self centered right now, and it's pretty annoying. The 13 year old is equally annoying, because it's like pulling teeth to get her out of her comfort zone to ask a friend to come over...so she spends sooo much time alone, reading or drawing. Helping her make friends has been an ongoing struggle. The toddler is super sweet and is usually a delight, but he hit the 18-month regression a month ago, and bedtime is a bit difficult. Phew. Thanks for letting me rant!

What are you most looking forward to about labor? Least?
They told me I can get the epidural as soon as I'm admitted (and not have to wait to be dilated to a certain number). Very much looking forward to that, since my last two labors were both super long: after my water broke, it took forever for me to make any progress (even though I kept having terrible contractions).

GTKY: I can't remember who I stole this from, but, how did your parents come up with your name?
My mom says they named me after the song "Hey, Carrie Ann" (my name is Caroline, but they always called me Carrie). My dad says they named me after the song "Sweet Caroline." I figure my mom would know better (and she says my name is pronounced "caro-lyn" so I go with that. Apparently, I was almost named Melody or Melanie.
