Symptoms - end of July

Re: Symptoms - end of July

  • Today I can really feel my heart beating, if that makes any sense. Like harder? Faster? Just really noticeable. Think it's cause all the stress of what's left to do and the financial impact of it all really hit me all of the sudden last night. Damn $1,500 doula may have really given me a heart attack!

Yes, I have been feeling this for a couple weeks now.  My heart rate is definitely elevated!  I feel it in my abdomen a lot too, which is so weird!

@tinattt23 and @KatieJo1205 if it's severe enough that it leaves you breathless or makes you dizzy, mention it to your doc.  I had palpitations that I discussed with my doc and ended up at the cardiologist.  Pregancy can put extra stress on your heart and not something you want to assume is normal just in case.  It is normal if they are a certain kind of palpitation, but only a cardiologist can confirm that.

  • @DiFazette Thanks for the advice! I'm not too worried yet since I know my stress level is high today. And my heart rate is definitely still within the normal range. But if it continues for a few days or after my stress level decreases, then I'll defiantly be taking to my doc.
  • Heart. Burn. Hell.
  • Soooooo much acne.....
  • Heart burn-like chest absolutely on fire heart burn. Gas and constipation. Tired and cranky. I've been a real treat to be around  :#
  • I have been lucky that I didn't really have MS, but a few minutes ago I threw up everything. I feel magically better, but I just find it odd. Pregnancy is weird.
  • My symptoms haven't changed much since the first tri. Lots of vomiting, nausea and exhaustion. I've switched to Reglan from Phenergan but I'm still constantly nauseous and vomiting multiple times per day. This shit is getting really really old.

  • Leg cramps started last night. Woke up feeling like my left calf was being squeezed by the jaws of life. Yayyyy.

  • Leg cramps and vague nausea off and on for the past couple of days have been my primary symptoms recently.

@sourlemon, hope your appt. goes well today and that your doctor is able to provide you with some lighter exercise alternatives that you can try.  Hope that the previa will resolve itself before too long as well!

  • Road to Florida to visit my mom and back in one day. Found out road trips while pregnant are not like regular road trips. By the time I got home last night my feet were so swollen and I was exhausted. All I've done today is sleep and sit around bleary eyed thinking about going for more sleep. I had fun with my mom but definitely can't do long car rides there and back again in one day. Fail for me.

  • @caseyewhitaker This so scares me! For our move, we've got a 24 hour drive to get there. We normally break it up into two 12 hour days. I'll be maybe 23-25 weeks. It'll be rough!

    Rest up and recover!
  • @tinattt23 oh girrrrl. Maybe you won't have the same experience as me? I was in the car about 12 hours equivalent, considering all the pit stops necessary for the bathroom and meals too. Worst case scenario, just be gentle with yourself, remind everyone else to be gentle, and make sure you've lined up plenty of recovery time to rest, rest, rest.

If I have to ride again, I think I'm going to try to sit in the back seat with my feet up in the seat next to me and see if that helps.

  • @caseyewhitaker And did I mention I get motion sick if I'm not the driver? The fun that's going to be had! Haha. But it the alternative was do it January with a newborn. Screw that.
  • @tinattt23 have you ever tried those motion sick bracelets that use your pressure points in your wrists to keep you from getting sick? My grandmother swore by them. Seabands I wanna say they're called?

  • @caseyewhitaker I haven't. I almost ordered some for morning sickness but it'd eased up my the time I got around to it. Maybe they'll help and I can at least put my feet up and not drive the whole way. Can't hurt!
  • ea301ea301 member
@tinattt23 i have some seabands if you want em! Let me know / shoot me a pm and i can pop them in the mail. They've just been sitting around for the past few weeks since my nausea died down.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • @tinattt23 I agree with everyone on the sea bands they did so great for me first tri. The package says people use them or chemo or something. If you use em a woman at work told me you know they are in the right place if you press down on the white part and it hurts, I guess that means it's on your pressure point
  • cgss11cgss11 member
I had moderate success with sea bands. It may have been slightly placebo though because it seemed like after about 8-9 days of swearing by them, they didn't seem to be helping anymore. They definetly pushed in on the pressure point hard! When I would take them off to shower they were very sore.
  • Hi Ladies, I'm in the same boat as a lot of you with the following:
    •way more cm
    •dizziness-since 1st tri
•random deep cramps that are not RLP
    •insomnia and exhausted from it
    •breathlessness

    My add on: Swelling!
Last weekend my feet started swelling and now they are doing it almost every day. My hands have started too. It makes me sad, because I had really bad edema with both DDs from 7 months on. But I'm just 20 weeks today, it's so early for my swelling to start. Also, I had pre-eclampsia with DD1, and my symptoms already feel like they're headed that way. I have been getting the random heart-bulge-out-of-your-chest feeling here and there. And for me, that was my blood pressure raising to a high level when I had pre-e. It only happens occasionally, but I know that's what it is. :(

My favorite good symptom: feeling baby moving around :) it makes me happy to know its ok in there. Which is my main concern all the time... "You ok in there baby?" Lol

  • Aw @yellingbanana that really stinks about the pre-e stuff. Here's hoping everything turns out okay for both you and baby.

  • Negative symptoms:
    - I have been gaining lots of weight, which I'm going to assume is a lot of water as when I used to get my period I'd easily gain 7 lbs and then drop it again.
    - I am just getting over a cold which has been hell and not pregnancy related. Aside from the fact that I guess my stomach has moved already so when I got into a bad coughing spell I would throw up (not much but just like baby spit ups).
    - foot cramps and leg cramps. It's my own damn fault though. I work on my feet all day. And of course I have flat feet and we have to wear dress shoes (preferably heals but I've been just wearing flats). Really I should be forcing myself to sit more and not just on my break.
    - I think pelvic girdle pain has started. It's definitely not baby but it's so slight of a pain im unsure this is what it is. Only is painful when I'm having the slight pain and I have to cough or sneeze from the cold.
    - Braxton hicks. Again not painful. Just a tightening sensation. Feels awkward when baby kicks while I'm having one though.

    Positive symptoms:
    - all my constipation issues I had before pregnancy is gone.
    - when DH gets up for work or comes home (he does rotating shifts) I wake up and am not bothered by it. Before pregnancy I was super cranky about this and couldn't get back to sleep even then.
    - so many kicks! Very active baby
    - clean freak. I never made the bed, would let dishes pile up (we're on septic/ cistern so we conserve water) etc... And now it bothers me! So I have to do it.

these could be both negative and positive depending on the person (I think they are positive):
    - organs have shifted and I'm getting fuller faster. So while I hunger easily still, im not eating as much in one sitting
    - word vomit. I say what's on my mind instead of letting stuff build up. For instance if there's drama at work I don't just sit and let it happen. I flat out tell the people the drama needs to stop and it's childish!
  • Pregnancy hates me.
Started diclegis a few wks ago, but still puking.
had an appointment recently where I was shown a chart and my weight gain is off it. Which is cruel because I feel like the puking should really be working in my favor as far as weight gain goes. Wah.
    Acne around my jawline
    so much pee
    headaches
    occasional waves of nausea
my stomach is the size of a pea. I am ravenous one minute but after two bites I'm ready to hurl.
oh and sciatic pain. It shoots down my right leg so I'm usually hobbling around. I had it with DD but it didn't flare up until must later.. I assume this early flare up is due to carrying a toddler around now.
  • Thankfully I have an appointment today (A/S and check up), but I have had some abdominal pain this morning... like I either ate a lot or something in there is tightening. It's not comfortable at all. I'll bring it up at my appointment, but ugh!

Pre-PG, if I felt this way, I'd lay on the ground and stretch out and that usually helped. I can't really do that at work, so I am riding it out. Google said Braxton Hicks. Or, it could be LOTS of gas built up.

  • I have a cold. An awful, awful cold. I'm calling this a pregnancy symptom because I swear it's related to the fact that pregnant ladies are slightly immunocompromised. I don't even think I was around anyone sick recently!

Does anyone else have costochondritis? It basically ranges from a little bit of chest pain to more severe acute pain around my ribs/sternum, especially with pressure. It was a problem pre-pregnancy but is much more noticeable now. Any suggestions for dealing would be welcomed! TIA!
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • Today is the first day that I noticed some hard lumps on the underside of my breasts after taking off my bra. I'm thinking its clogged ducts, because it did mostly go away with some massaging. I guess I have to stop delaying and finally buy a bigger bra (and lose the underwire).
  • TMI warning...
Oh my gosh, my vagina is swelling already!!! It does not feel nice.

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

  • So a very minor pro - my boobs, which were sad little deflated bags after breastfeeding DD, have filled out a little bit. Con - my nipples feel like someone has them in a vice 24/7. They hurt SO bad. The rest of the boob doesn't hurt at all, just the nips. And though DD is weaned, she still finds great comfort in grabbing boobs (DH's and my mom's included). And she is not nice to boobs. She treats the nips like a taffy pull. We've been working on limiting this safety-boob action more and more, but sometimes it's the only comfort that gets her to sleep, and by golly I need her to go to freakin' sleep.

The low blood pressure is also a big thing for me. I've been dealing with it since late first tri. Every time I stand, my vision blacks out for a couple of seconds. And I see stars quite a lot for no real reason. I've been chugging water like I'm dying of dehydration, and I've upped my sodium. Not working yet though.

And RLP is getting progressively worse day to day.

Despite all that I'm in the 2nd tri eye of the storm. This is all totally manageable and FAR better than first tri. I'm going to savor it before 3rd tri hits me like a mack truck going full speed.

@slartybartfast we're pretty certain it isn't. I've been to a couple of doctors about it, and they've checked my sugar to be safe. Nothing weird seems to be going on. I've always had somewhat low blood pressure, though, and when the veins widen in 2nd tri to make room for the extra blood, it drops the bp even lower. It'll pick back up once I fill up with bloods :) It happened with DD too, just not quite this bad. But I think my bp was lower pre-pregnancy this time around, which is just making it worse. Fun!

ETA: @jenlynne0624 I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a small child fondling her boobs. At least it's incentive for me to keep her nails trimmed really well. Sometimes it's like she's trying to pick my nipple off like a bandaid or a sticker. <shudders>
