Re: Pregnancy won't stop me from...

  • @poodledoodleooo love state fairs. We have a giant, local fair that's the first week of September every year. Really hoping I can make it this year. My daughter looooooves the animals and I love the food.

  • Our town's fair is in August. I'm really looking forward to it even though it's not a great one. I am trying to have a few big events to look forward to in August because it helps keep time moving, so this fair is one of them.  I do like seeing all of the animals (Emmett will love it this year!) and eating some good fried food.

  • @Rebecca&Raphael my husband doesn't think I do a careful enough job with the laundry. Fine with me, I am too short and great with belly to get in our top loader anyway. I always rearrange the dishes in the dishwasher after he loads them, though. He does it wrong!

@PoodleDoodleOoo yuuuup. I am not going to let this pregnancy stop me from taking naps, lying down, allowing people to help me do things/ do them for me, ordering take-out, etc. etc. etc. Preggo power.

@CindyLouWho427 YESSS to wearing a bikini! I bought a maternity one piece and have only worn it twice because I don't like squeezing into it. I bought a bikini top with boy short bottoms (because I can't see whats going on down there and no one else needs to either) and I wear it multiple times a week. Haters gonna hate, and IDGAF.

One thing pregnancy does stop me from doing: cleaning the bathroom. That is my least favorite household chore and I told DH I didnt think I should breathe the fumes from the cleaner. I used it most of my first pregnancy and haven't cleaned them once since I found out I was pregnant this time.
  • I'm in the same boat as @PoodleDoodleOoo, Its effing hot outside, I'm not letting this pregnancy make me "suck it up".  I'm getting my full nap on, catching up on HGTV, letting my husband do ALL the outside work (he's not having to push a cantaloupe out of his butt!).

I'm not letting my pregnancy stop me from asking for help at work, eating lunch meat or sushi, or frozen yogurt! It's also not stopping me from taking an entire lane during lap swim.  Or wearing the two piece athletic suit.  I'm pretty sure my boobs are big enough that my top has stretched to the point of transparency but damnit I am swimming in the heat of summer 30+ weeks pregnant, no way am I adding a layer to cover my stomach.  Look the other way boys.
  • Bikini FTW here too. No way I was spending money on a suit that I would only wear for a few months, especially considering I don't plan on being pregnant again. And we've been at the pool every weekend. No shame.

  • I can't fit my freaking boobs into a bikini :(

had this issue too, until I went to target and grabbed a "plus size" bikini top that "kinda" goes with my black bikini bottoms (I only have to waddle out to my back yard to my pool. so zero F#&ks give...) It doesn't exactly fit great, but it keeps them fro falling out. And it was on clearance. So, win?

Also, side note...I feel like I'm stalking you today. :#
  • @MrsVoorhees Oh, to be sure, the girls are getting a little scandalous in last years bikini buttttt I'm kind of starting to not care. I should just go pick up a bigger top like @LARK81 but that requires even more effort :)

Is it weird I feel more confident pregnant in a bikini then not? I have been wearing one all week down at the shore. Sure, the looks are getting a little old but whatever!

You don't have to think about a flat stomach or rolls when you sit, you just let it all hang out! I wish I was like that all the time.
  • @PoodleDoodleOoo - You're killing me!!! Please eat extra hotdish-on-a-stick, cheese curds and Sweet Martha's Cookies for meeeeeee!!!!! In fact, I found a list of the new fair foods for the year. I'll just forward you the list and live vicariously through you, mkay?!  ;)

  • @seitzy3 - I'm the same way. In a bathing suit or regular clothes. Way too hard on myself when not pregnant is the truth to it all - but after a few months post-partum last time I was just as critical of myself as I had been before getting pregnant, so I'm sure it will come back.

  • @PoodleDoodleOoo When is your state fair? Ours is in late august/early September  and 5 hours from where I live so I'm definitely like "I think I'm going to let pregnancy keep me from attending this one."

  • Ours is also late August early Sept, but it's like an hour away (with traffic; less without) and it absolutely glorious. I plan to pretty much just go for the morning and then head out if it gets too hot, but hopefully it's a rainy or cool day.
