I had CD 21 bloodwork ultrasound on Monday. dr is out of town til August so the nurses were pretty quiet. Normally the dr is in for the ultrasounds and explains everything. I have the consult to go over the treatment plan on 8/3 which sucks cuz if I'm not pregnant this cycle, we will miss the beginning of the next cycle so don't know how they will handle it. Since we don't have a treatment plan, I doubt calling on CD1 will do anything. So will I have to have another 50 day cycle? Plus in the middle of this i have potential 2 weeks of travel in September or October and that would throw another monkey wrench into the next cycle. Trying to stay positive and hopefully get a BFP this cycle.

Hey Ladies. I'm currently cd46, 13 DPO but got a bfn yesterday so there's a slim chance I'm still in but doesn't look good. Thd good news is I ovulated (confirmed through a progesterone draw at cd39) so at least now I know that everything's working properly!! Going to a new OB on Tuesday and am going to ask her if I should be concerned with my long follicular phase (33 days seems a little too long).

First post to the check-in thread, so here's my intro: 1. How long have you been TTC? 13 months
2. What is your diagnosis? None yet, just finished the tests
3. What is your current treatment plan? Doc indicated it would likely be Clomid + IUI but we have our appointment to review results and treatment plan on August 3.
@Megzb510 we have our consult on the same day. I'm sorry that means you'll likely miss out on that cycle. You've probably discussed this before, but can they or are they doing anything to shorten your cycles so you don't have to wait through another 50 days? Fingers crossed for a BFP this cycle!
@harleyquinn0621 Being able to relax when you know you're out for a cycle is so nice! We sat out last cycle and it was a nice change to just know my period would arrive and not be sad or stressed about it. Enjoy your drinks!
GTKY: I was going to say JLaw--or probably actually BFF Amy Schumer so I could take JLaw on a convenient trip to meet my (in real life) brother. My sister and I have a grand plan that my brother should marry JLaw, but we need to get them set up. ;-)
I'm getting ready to start AF, either today or tomorrow I expect. Moving on to Cycle 16. Unfortunately, I will be through another FW before my Dr. appt. August 9th. I'm ready for some answers and some action to fix it.

It's CD 12 for me. Clomid finished 3 days ago. I'm starting my opks. Got a faint line today. Made me wonder if there is ever a time in your cycle where an OPK is supposed to be completely blank? Or do we have enough LH in our system at all times to get a faint line? Just wondered.

@Worldtravler0522 Fx for a sticky baby and GL with your 2nd Beta @harleyquinn0621 I hope you enjoy your break and some tasty adult beverages! @Bababatty I hope the next couple of weeks leading up to your appointment goes by quick and that you get some answers
It has been a bit of a rough week for me. Between the tests, stress from work- including my first accidental needle stick which led to my first Hep B, Hep C, and HIV tests (all negative btw)- and my crazy AF hormones, I have been a big, cranky mess the past several days.
On the bright side of things, we had our preliminary tests done this week. I had my labs drawn on Monday to check my thyroid, FSH, and ovarian reserve. The only result I have back so far is my thyroid which is normal. Still waiting on the FSH and ovarian reserve results.
DH had is SA done yesterday and that is good as well. He had a 358 mill count with 54% motility so it is definitely not a male problem. He was pretty relieved. He went in thinking for sure that there would be some problem with his swimmers.
We will for sure be starting our first round with Clomid next cycle. The plan is to do 2 months of that. If that is unsuccessful, then we move on to 2 months of Letrozol. If that is not successful, then it's onto an HSG. So Fx the clomid works. We haven't even started treatment yet and I am feeling just down right impatient. I just want it all to be done and have a baby in my arms
@Megzb510 we have our consult on the same day. I'm sorry that means you'll likely miss out on that cycle. You've probably discussed this before, but can they or are they doing anything to shorten your cycles so you don't have to wait through another 50 days? Fingers crossed for a BFP this cycle!
@Bababatty - the Clomid shortened my cycles by 20 days! I guess I have a lot of questions for my RE during that consult. I will be around CD10 so not sure if they could give me Clomid "late" after checking my follicles. I know it's normally CD5-9 but I'm sure in my unmedicated cycle nothing really changes by CD10 and maybe I could take it CD10-15? I'm totally speculating here based on no info from the dr. Otherwise I would hope they could give me something to cut the cycle at like 30 days instead of waiting to 50. also question for you--what made your doctor say you would do IUI instead of TI? (Not sure if you knew).

@hoffmanr7 - good luck with Clomid! just curious, why does your dr wait so long for the HSG? I would think that they would want to know if you have blocked tubes before meds. Truly, if I were you, I would ask for the HSG sooner. (Apologies if you have had other tests that have ruled out potential issues that would be found in an HSG). My HSG was done during a testing cycle with Clomid, and it revealed a blocked right tube.

@hoffmanr7 Sorry your week has been a little challenging. That's great news at DH and his SA. I'm surprised to hear though that your HSG is so late. Hopefully you get your BFP before then!

@Megzb510 Sorry, I totally butchered the quoting. Oops. Anyway, at the very least I hope they're able to cut the cycle shorter for you. it seems like it would be the most efficient during treatments, but I'm not a doctor so there are probably issues I don't understand. Fingers crossed!
I'm actually not sure why he recommended going straight to IUI. It's something I'll ask about at our next appointment. At the first appointment it seemed more like a "this is probably what we'll recommend" rather than a definite. I'm assuming it could change depending on our test results?

@Bababatty Welcome! We were told a similar plan when we went in for testing. My RE said that assuming all the tests were normal (IE: Unexplained infertility) that our next step would be Femara (similar to clomid) + IUI. We were told our odds on clomid or femera alone would not be any higher than just continuing to try on our own. We were told the combination with IUI had a much high success rate. It is still a fair question to ask your RE though, let us know what they say.
MandyBeeSLP you and I are cycle twins, AF will be arriving tomorrow for me too, and it will be cycle 16
Well, cycle 15 is a bust. BFN today, and started spotting, so AF should arrive on schedule tomorrow. It's crazy how regular I am and yet we STILL can't get pregnant.
I'm thankful we have weekend plans; it's our 6th anniversary, so we have a hotel with a whirlpool suite booked and a plan to follow a wine tasting route along the Mississippi river. Only one more cycle to get through, and then we can do our IUI.
QOTW: I've never really wanted to be a celebrity, I don't enjoy the spotlight at all. On CD4 (technically 5 cuz it's after midnight) on day 2 of clomid take the 3rd dose in the morning. So far I've been a complete psycho this cycle way more emotional and ready to burst into tears then past cycles so I'm hoping maybe this cycle i actually ovulate. Also temping and doing opk.

I feel like a jerk because I've only been here for one cycle and I am shocked that my treatment worked (for now at least). I hope you all get your bfp soon! Thanks for being so welcoming; I thought I would be here for months.
Megzb510 Hopefully your RE can work something out for your cycle. When I didn't respond to 5 mg of letrozole we just started 7.5 mg that same day. No waiting
hoffmanr7 My RE also wanted to wait on the HSG--she said I had "untested" fertility (because I couldn't ovulate on my own) and we would have done an HSG after three failed rounds of letrozole. I hope you don't need one!

@Megzb510 and @Worldtravler0522 It's mainly an insurance thing. We are pretty sure I am ovulating because my cycles aren't too irregular (usually around 24-27 days) and since our insurance covers absolutely nothing, we wanted to try the meds first before getting into anything to pricey.

I'm not really into celebrities....I don't ever know any ones names. Maybe Jennifer Aniston? She just seems really confident in who she is...
So I got my results back and my beta fell by 3 points to 51 so it's pretty much done as far as I'm concerned. I'm super frustrated because the dr is making me come back Saturday for a third beta to just see how it progresses. I'm so angry because I feel like it's drawing out the inevitable for two more days. Clearly if it fell things do not sound good. I'm so frustrated. I just don't even know if I have it in me to keep doing this.

9DPO here, took an early test despite my promise not to and BFN . I had my phone consult with the RE this morning. It went great! He reviewed all the testing I have had done so far and said that he is going to send me a list of additional tests that he wants me and OH to have done. He said so far I look like a good candidate for IVF. I told him I want to wait to start the IVF process until late Spring so I can have my transfers done in June when school gets out for the summer and I'm not working. The plan is to do the testing in March and schedule another phone appointment with him to review results and come up with a plan. I was also worried that he was going to rip me a new one for getting Clomid through my OBGYN. He said he was fine with it and suggest I do no more than 4 cycles of Clomid and then try a couple of fermera. It feels good to have a road map and I also feel good having an RE's "blessing" to continue Clomid with my OBGYN while we wait for better IVF timing.

AF started Tuesday morning and was over by Wednesday morning, but very heavy for me. Took a pregnancy test Thursday evening (was just getting home from a work trip and couldn't wait for morning!) BFN. Called my OB and she said to test again tomorrow morning and proceed on with the next round of Clomid.
I have this gut feeling that the Clomid is not going to work for us. I know that sounds crazy!

I'm on CD30, AF should show tomorrow. I've been too afraid to test, I'm usually excited to test and honestly I just don't want to know that it's over again. Had a lot of really weird symptoms this month which got my hopes up more than usual, but for some reason I'm sure it's going to be another BFN tomorrow and I'm dreading it.
Met with my RE for the first time last week and it went well, I really liked him. Will call on CD1, he wants to put me on Letrazole, I've done 2 rounds of Clomid. DH took his sample in yesterday morning so we should have those results by Friday. He was very positive that as long as DH results are okay, we shouldn't expect to have to go IUI or IVF. With how I've responded to Clomid (ovulated on CD17 two cycles in a row, which he doesn't like and would prefer if I ovulated earlier) and based on my history he doesn't "anticipate" tube problems or endometriosis which I have been randomly worried about for no reason other than somebody told me I "probably" have it, too.

So I had my beta yesterday and it was 54! The nurse said that they like to see it at at least 50 so I'm cautiously optimistic we got a sticky baby after all. I go tomorrow for my second beta and I'm hoping it at least doubles.
QOTW- The snarky person in me says Kim K and I would spend my day announcing my retirement from public life and donate all my money haha.

i am out this cycle just waiting to do some more testing next month. I'm enjoying not having to do anything fertility related and this weekend i am going to go out and have some drinks (i haven't drank at all since i started all this a few months ago)
QOTW: What celebrity would you like to be for just one day?
I agree with Kim K... i dislike her as a person but to have access to her clothes, hair, makeup and money for one day would be nice

@soontobemommahowe Good luck with your new doc! I hope she's helpful!
GTKY: I'm boring and don't really want to be a celebrity. Maybe Emma Watson though, I really respect her.

@harleyquinn0621 I hope you enjoy your break and some tasty adult beverages!
I just want it all to be done and have a baby in my arms

also question for you--what made your doctor say you would do IUI instead of TI? (Not sure if you knew).
@hoffmanr7 - good luck with Clomid! just curious, why does your dr wait so long for the HSG? I would think that they would want to know if you have blocked tubes before meds. Truly, if I were you, I would ask for the HSG sooner. (Apologies if you have had other tests that have ruled out potential issues that would be found in an HSG). My HSG was done during a testing cycle with Clomid, and it revealed a blocked right tube.

I'm actually not sure why he recommended going straight to IUI. It's something I'll ask about at our next appointment. At the first appointment it seemed more like a "this is probably what we'll recommend" rather than a definite. I'm assuming it could change depending on our test results?
@harleyquinn0621 I'll be drinking with you this weekend, I'm glad you have found a bit of peace during this time of waiting.
@soontobemammahowe sorry for the BFN
I got my bfp on Sunday at 10 dpo. My first beta was yesterday and came in at 145. I go back in tomorrow to make sure the hcg is doubling. @SoonToBeMamaHowe you're so sweet to check on me in the other thread. I feel like a jerk because I've only been here for one cycle and I am shocked that my treatment worked (for now at least). I hope you all get your bfp soon! Thanks for being so welcoming; I thought I would be here for months.
Worldtravler0522 congrats on your numbers! FX they double!

Sorry for the ramble, hugs to all who need it.
