My son will be ten months old on Monday and his nap schedule has been changing drastically over the last month and a half and now he's down to one nap a day. He used to wake up at 7:30 and nap approximately two hours later. Then he'd have another nap around 2 or 3 and then bed at 8pm. Then he started pushing his first nap back by three then four hours. So his second nap started happening at 5 or 6 and he'd stay up until 9:30! Recently he dropped the last nap altogether. So he's up at 7:30 for the day, naps from 11:30-1:30 and then stays awake until bed at 8pm. He never acts overtired or fussy during the day so I'm not going to force a second nap and his one nap is usually a solid two hours. I knows it's early for one nap a day, is anyone else in the same situation?
Re: One nap a day already?
ETA: I have the hardest time when DS sleeps in a little in the morning. I always wake him up by a certain time in order to make sure we stay on schedule the rest of the day.
Unlike the rest of you I'm actually much happier this way. Her naps are always a headache. She fights and fights and the only way to get her to sleep is to take her out in the car or bounce on a yoga ball. And then hold her through her whole nap or else she wakes up.
One nap a day means I only have to do that once lol. So definitely not down time for me.
She's happy until bedtime unless she takes her nap too early then she needs a second nap (usually catnap). Goes down easily--happy to see her crib unlike her naps-- and sleeps through the night.
So we're on 1 nap a day and it's actually working for us
