DS almost refuses to eat solids. He'll only eat puffs, crackers, and cheerios with any consistency. As far as other solids like ham, chicken, pasta, peas, etc., he'll take 3 bites at most then refuse to eat the rest or he spits it out then throws it on the floor.
He'll gladly eat puree foods though. I keep offering the solids but he just never wants them.
Any other suggestions on how to get him to eat solids?
Re: if DC ate purees after 1 year old, how long did it last?
I made all of DD's babyfood (pureed it in the food processor). I just gradually made it chunkier and chunkier. Maybe you could try that?
DD has 16 teeth and still doesn't love ham - I think it's hard for her to chew.
Does he feed himself? I'd keep offering him a variety of textures on his plate (even if you feed him) and eventually he'll get used to the idea. Some kids are very finicky about texture, but DD never was.
GL!
DS hates food with mixed textures. He gags on it.
He loves ham. He eats his apples & ham puree like it's ice cream, and daycare said they fed him regular ham and he ate it there, but last night MIL tried to feed it to him and I tried today and he throws it.
He does feed himself. He eats cracker sticks and cheerios w/ no problem.
Thanks for your ideas, though.
