Thought I would post since I know our regular poster has had a crazy last few days

1. How many weeks and how big is baby?
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments?

Re: PGAL Check-in, week of July 18
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments? We had our first birth class this weekend, and have our second half of it Sunday. My husband looked a little green through the birth video. I keep emphasizing to him that the "support person" needs to try to stay upright throughout the process, if possible. We'll see.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had a long stressful weekend - lots to do and have been exhausted for a number of reasons. This morning I had to go get a heart ultrasound at the cardiologist, who is trying to figure out why I faint (I think it's because I'm pregnant and have low blood pressure, personally). The appointment was at 8 AM, which is very early for me. The tech chatted away at me with all the normal questions, when are you due, boy or girl, what's the name, etc. She mentioned how hot it is and how it's terrible timing to be pregnant, of course, which is annoying since it wasn't my first choice of times to be pregnant, actually, but I am glad to be pregnant at all, thanks to one working ovary and some bomb-ass fertility meds. THEN because I was not chatty or smiley enough, apparently, she said, "well, you sure don't seem very excited about having a baby. Is it just the heat that's making you not handle it well?" EXCUSE ME? It is not my responsibility to chirp back at people and do a cartwheel every time someone mentions my pregnancy (ie, every time I see literally anyone). It's like the equivalent of a man on the street yelling at you to "smile" when you're in the middle of a crappy busy day. Also, I think the fainting and the neverending doctor's appointments are actually what's ruining my June Cleaver demeanor. Not just my wimpy attitude toward the weather. I could have punched her. Bleh.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat? All the complaining about the cardio tech aside, I am not enjoying the heat much. Lol. I would love to spend more time swimming - I am trying to bum off friends with pools when I have free time!
I hope everyone is doing great - getting closer and closer!

2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments?
Checkup on Friday.
I'm less than 2 weeks away from the point where my OB won't try to stop labor if it starts. Eek!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
So. Sore.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat?
Swimming! I've always loved water and swimming but rarely go to the pool. Pregnancy has had me down there on the regular, though. It feels so good to take the weight off by floating.

2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments? Next appt in 2 weeks, baby shower in 3 weeks.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: We need to convert our office into a nursery, but DH is really dragging his feet on selling the elliptical and sorting/tossing his old electronics. Plus, we haven't made any progress on boy names for our Team Green LO yet. I'm starting to get a bit anxious because I hate feeling unprepared. 8 weeks is not that long, especially if LO decides to make an early appearance!
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat? Mostly, I've been spending the day indoors playing video games, crafting in front of the tv, and cooking. Usually, I love being out at the pool, but our regular group is either busy and out of town this summer, or are the people who like to lay out but not actually get into the water, which makes it harder to socialize with them.
1. How many weeks and how big is baby?
32w3d, 15.2-16.7 inches/Squash
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments?
Next appointment is in two weeks...just before my baby shower...will be 34 weeks.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Well, this isn't so much a rant as it's more of a concern...I started swelling in my hands and feet about 3 weeks ago but nothing major...over the last two weeks, they've been swelling even more to the point where I have carpal tunnel syndrome. Every time I wake up in the morning or after a nap, I cannot close my hands and make a fist. They feel super stiff and it hurts to even try to close them or hold something for about 10 minutes. I'm eventually able to move them but my joints still hurt...tried wearing the braces and icing as recommended by my doctor but they didn't help very much...On top of all this, in the last week, my blood pressure has been slightly high but had some other tests done and they came back normal. Don't know what's causing my blood pressure to go up but I hope I can get it down.
On a positive note, I have rarely been using my fetal doppler since the baby has been moving around...and she's been moving around like crazy - sometimes to the point where it wakes and keeps me up - but it's nice to be able to feel that she's alive in there.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat?
I wish I could say I was enjoying some cool summer activities but they have mostly consisted of staying home and planning for the upcoming school year as I am a teacher. Gets really hot where I live - gets to triple digits a lot - so I have mostly been indoors with the a/c on.

2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments? just had one yesterday, back in two weeks
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I know I had later u/s with my first two kids, but I don't know exactly when they were. No one has said anything about having one anytime soon so now I have no idea if I should be expecting one or not. I should have asked yesterday. I feel LO move all the time, which is a relief, but it would still be nice to see him/her.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat? We don't have a pool so I'm just trying to stay inside as much as possible. Normally, I'm all about being outside in the sun, especially with two active boys, but it's just been so hot and humid that it makes it hard to breathe and just not fun to be out. I feel bad for them, but we're trying to keep them entertained inside as much as possible. Plus, they're outside during daycare/camp, so it's not like they aren't getting out at all.
@missfoxyleide I am also finding a carpal tunnel brace does not seem to help much. I can't seem to make myself sleep or work with it on, though.
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments? My next milestone is 36 weeks, so 3.5 weeks away. It feels so far away but I can't wait to feel more confident if she were to come earlier.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I've said this before but I love feeling her all the time. I can typically tell when she's awake and when she's sleeping and my belly constantly looks like an alien wants to break out of it. She's been kicking my stomach a lot (like, my actual stomach where the food goes) and will stretch pushing her little head into my bladder. It's very painful but all I do is imagine her little chubby legs kicking and her moving her little head. Being PGAL has made me view all the discomfort from a different perspective. I'm just constantly grateful that she's doing well.
4. GTKY: We unfortunately haven't done much this summer because of the heat. The triple digit temps recently have had us staying indoors a lot. We're really focused on getting things ready for baby.
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments? tomorrow
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Mostly good right now, though I'm having an oddly emotional day. I work from home and have been really lonely this week. And my husband was just somewhat abrupt on our 5 minute lunchtime call because he's busy. It's embarrassing to react this strongly to such a nothing. It doesn't help that I normally socialize with the neighbors for a few hours in the evening, but it's been too hot to get outside.
@jas1982 I would have been livid after that experience with the lab technician! Just because we're pregnant doesn't mean we have to have rainbows coming out of our bums for every chatty cathy.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat? We've been traveling every weekend, camping or visiting friends, which has kept us busy. During the week I stay in the a/c!
1. How many weeks and how big is baby?
29weeks+4 days Acorn squash
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments?
Last MFM visit next week.
Baby shower still 6 weeks away so fighting the urge to buy stuff.
Will set up cosleeper by Aug 1.
Got my breastpump and trying not to take it out of the box until time to pack with hospital bag.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Glad to be this far along. Appreciating kicks, even at 2a.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat? Staying inside, discovered pineapple Popsicles at Aldi. We go to the pool as needed, I stay in baby pool. I AM having a baby so I dont get dirty looks from Mr. Lifeguard :-)
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments? Next appt 34 weeks 7/29 - I can't wait til week 35 then I feel like the show is about to start!!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Swollen feet started after my last OB appointment. I got a "watch your weight" comment from OB that was really upsetting because I've made an effort to not over eat and track stuff but that's not enough. I'm not sure what else to do other than not eat
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat? Went to the pool a few times this summer but last week got my first mosquito bite
33 weeks 6 days.
2. Any upcoming milestones/ appointments?
regular appointment tomorrow. We will also discuss when my MRI will be... more about this below since it is definitely more a rant.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Last week I saw the anesthesiologist and they decided I needed an MRI to check for fibromas in my spine because it poses a risk for the epidural. Basically fibromas = no epidural. BUT and I am ranting here, they are not sure I will be able to get an appointment before my due date and that makes me SO ANGRY, like why could they not book the MRI back when I was 14 weeks and we first discussed it? They wanted to wait for the anesthesiologist okay, but book it just in case and cancel it if I don't need it.
I am TERRIFIED of giving birth with no epidural, they were telling me about other pain management options and I was crying the more they would talk about it. I understand if I cannot get one because of fibromas but the risk of having those is really low. If I cannot get an epidural because they were too stupid to schedule an appointment before? That's insane. And what if a have a C-section? That means they have to put me under completely so no meeting my baby as soon as he comes out
This is so unfair.
4. GTKY: What kind of summer activities are you enjoying/ how are you handling the heat?
Playing some Pokemon GO lol. And staying inside with the AC if it is too warm.
