Pronounce this for me...

How would YOU pronounce the name Kiah?

My husband knew a guy with the name that pronounced it as K-eye, but everything I am reading and seeing is telling me it is pronounced as K-eye-a or Key-a (and also that it is a girl name..).

Kai appears to be the correct spelling for the pronunciation he is looking for.

  • I would pronounce that K-eye-ah and assume it was a girl.

You are correct, Kai is a male name and is pronounced K-eye.

Kai is what you are looking for.

  • I would say Kiah as (KEE-uh)
I would say Kai with a long I sound, one syllable
  • That's Kai.
  • I would also pronounce Kee-uh.
  • I would pronounce as KEE-uh
  • I would guess Kee-uh or like Kai-uh.

  • I would say k-eye-ah and assume girl.
  • I would pronounce it Kigh-uh (rhymes with Mya). I would assume Kiah was short for a longer name like Hezekiah.

  • It would rhyme with papaya.  Two syllables: Ki-uh.  The "k" sound would be followed up by a long "i" sound.

I know two boys under 12 whose names are pronounced like the first syllable above, and like the name your H seems to be looking for.  Ki.  One spells his "Cai" one spells it "Kai."
