How are you feeling? Much better than last week, just normal prego aches and pains
Upcoming appointments? Growth ultrasound tomorrow
Rants/Raves/Questions: fingers crossed 7 weeks of bed rest to go
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? My father wanted a strong female name. They had a list of 8 potential names on a index card. Now its fascinating to see what names they were considering at the time.
How are you feeling? My back is killing me, but the heartburn has eased up. Definitely feeling more and more uncomfortable and it's hard to stay comfortable, baby girl is pushed on the far right of my belly and is constantly jamming her knee into my liver. Ouch.
Upcoming appointments? Diabetic nurse on Wednesday, and an ultrasound last week to check if the placenta previa is gone and it is! And it was so great to see how big she's getting
Rants/Raves/Questions: GD sucks. That is all.
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? They had 3 names picked out, and were sure I was going to be named Rachel, but decided I looked more like a Kathryn (I ended up as Kate because Kathryn was a very popular name in the late 80's). My sister ended up being named Rachel. We're going to do the same thing for this baby girl, we picked out 3 names, and we'll see which one fits!
I either have tendinitis in my left hip (entirely possible, given my history and the weight on my shallow hip joints), or I've got SPD (probably unlikely since it's limited to one side and doesn't feel like anything is unstable or grinding in there, more like I'm walking on 1/3 of my femur and it's causing tendinitis (it's happened before, multiple times).
It feels like a sort of deep ache mixed with nerve pain in my upper hip/pelvis and the very bottom of my bump and then radiates down into my leg, all the way down to my ankle when it gets really bad. Having DH lift my leg up as high as he can while lying on my side helps a bit.
Upcoming appointments?
Checkup on 7/22.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
None today.
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name?
I was going to be named Trevor or Trent since my mom was convinced I was a boy, with Amber and Crystal as her girl choices.
Well, I'm obviously not Trevor or Trent material and I ended up having cousins born right before me who were named Amber and Crystal (IIRC), so I was named after a girl my mom didn't know but rode the bus with in high school.
Not bad but had a bad week. Got introduced to lovely gas and constipation this past week. Not pleasant at all.
Upcoming appointments?
32 weeks check in two weeks.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Swelling and constipation are no fun. Palpitations are more frequent as well.
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? My mom was really into Greek mythology when she was pregnant with me and loved the name Athena. So alas that became my name. Luckily she went with that and not her second choice of Picabo. She wanted to name my sister Aphrodite but my dad nixed that one really quickly. She got April instead.
What size is baby? Stalks of celery. But these two are measuring big so who knows.
How are you feeling? Eh.All I can say at this point is that I'm hanging in there. I'm extra crabby and emotional in addition to being crampy and huge.
Upcoming appointments? Later this week with the FMF. We're on weekly appointments now.
Rants/Raves/Questions: It was so great to swim in the pool this weekend and just float. What sucked was getting out after 2 hours and realizing, yup, I've still got this belly and it's still as heavy as it was 2 hours ago. *sigh*
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? I think I'm actually named after a character my mom liked on a soap opera. But her best friend from high school has the same name so I don't know if the played into it at all. I do know that my middle name is also my maternal grandmother's muddle name. When she found out that I had her middle name, she couldn't belive it. "Why would you do that?? I hate my middle name!" Thanks Grandma. Too bad it's going to be your great granddaughters name too!
How are you feeling? Like I'm falling apart at the seams. It is far too hot outside to be this pregnant. Ugh.
Upcoming appointments? US to check growth on Thursday!
Rants/Raves/Questions: [self-pitying] RANT: DH went out of town last week and I was so excited to get stuff done while he was gone--we always end up vegging out together in the evenings, so when he's gone I'm usually very productive. Well, a day or so after he left, DS and I went to Target and DS threw an epic tantrum about getting in the cart. I leaned forward to scrape him up off the ground and forgot about my giant belly, so I toppled forward and had to catch myself so I didn't fall on top of DS1 or on my belly. Instead, I fell on my wrist really hard and sprained it. Then I sobbed in the middle of Target bc it was overwhelming, embarrassing, and *really* painful. No one helped me. So for the rest of the week, my overly-pregnant self had to take care of DS alone with only one available hand. The stress of it all gave me two migraines. Add that to all my other pregnancy garbage and it was possibly the worst week ever. I'm so thankful DH's back home again!!
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? I think they wanted me to be a boy named Christopher, so instead I became a girl named Crystal. They're not very sentimental so I don't think they put a lot of thought into it, lol.
How are you feeling? I'm pretty good. I have shortness of breath episodes, usually in the morning, but they go away as the day progresses. Still having a little bit of trouble sleeping, but not as bad as it was. Definitely feeling big!
Upcoming appointments? Have an appointment tomorrow for bloodwork to look at my iron levels again. Hopefully my numbers are up from the last appointment!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm finally at the point where I'm starting to dislike my maternity clothes. Not just mine but maternity clothes in general.
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? My mom is adamant that she came across my name randomly in a baby name book and fell in love with it. Though, there is this character from a 60's TV drama with the name, so sometimes I wonder.
@schuberta - Oh hun, I'm sorry! I hope you're feeling better. That stinks that no one offered to help you too. Glad your DH is back home and able to help!
Upcoming appointments? tomorrow for 32 week check up and also a dentist appointment tomorrow as well
Rants/Raves/Questions: I've ranted already in the randoms thread. I'm just glad to be back. Oh and swollen feet suck
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? Maria is the most common name in Spanish. What makes mine special is that I am just Maria. No middle name or anything.
@schuberta I hope your wrist gets better soon. Im so sorry nobody helped you up. People suck sometime
How are you feeling? constipated. Had my first bout of swollen legs last night. Booooo.
Upcoming appointments? Friday
Rants/Raves/Questions: hired a doula last week. It's helping to alleviate some stress from juggling who will help with DD on the day of the birth, as well as the small chance that the baby comes when my husband is in Alaska for most of August.
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? My grandfather James died six months before I was born. So they named me Jamie. But everyone calls me James.
Celery? At my last appointment on Friday, he weighed 4 lbs and 12 oz!
How are you feeling?
Good just extremely huge and tired. Bad heartburn & swollen feet
Upcoming appointments? The 29th
Rants/Raves/Questions: Does anyone else feel like the baby is just going to punch/kick its way out already? He's been moving so hard that it's uncomfortable.
GTKY: How did your parents decide on your name? My Dad picked my name...probably because it was the #1 baby girl name in my birth year (1994)

Normal pregnancy aches and pains for the most part, but fairly miserable and don't want to go anything.
Had 4 appointments on Friday
Rants: rude Co worker saying that if I have to go to the bathroom so much that I should just wear a diaper.. seriously wth....
I was named after my great grandmother who significantly helped raise my dad.
My mom was really into Greek mythology when she was pregnant with me and loved the name Athena. So alas that became my name. Luckily she went with that and not her second choice of Picabo. She wanted to name my sister Aphrodite but my dad nixed that one really quickly. She got April instead.
