@setosh My real problem is I have a four year old and am a teacher on summer vacation so we are usually really active and always out and about.....but I am so over it because all I want to do is lounge and sleep! I feel bad when I can't do things with her. My DH keeps saying put her in a daycare but we really need to be saving money so I can't bring myself to do that just because I am tired.
@mrsmommya I agree! The hardest part of the end of pregnancy is trying to entertain my other 2 kids! I actually feel pretty good, but I do not want to be on the ground and sitting on hard little people chairs playing house at this point, lol. I just want to relax! but then they guilt me into it by saying when the baby comes ill be too busy to play house! Lol
@mrsmommya@carolynpetite Thats my struggle right now, too. It's summer and my kids want to do stuff/go places and im so exhausted. I try to get out at least once a day to the park or something but after we do that, im completely wiped out. Major mom guilt.
TMI warning: During my first cervical check, I bled a little for about 24 hours. Normal spotting and then later some brownish blood. Totally normal stuff. Second check, nothing. I just had my third check on Tuesday and spotted again. It cleared up a bit yesterday and I didn't have any new spotting all night. But this morning it's back to spotting with both red and brown blood. I was 80% and 1 cm during my 2nd and 3rd checks. Since the then I've had more cramping, Esp low in my pelvic region. LO is still wiggling, not as much as he was earlier.
Part of me wonders if I should call the birthing center or if I'm being an overly concerned FTM. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Edited: ended up calling L&D because I noticed a large clot came out too. No worries at this time. I just need to monitor movement and the color. Geesh this whole end of the pregnancy thing is one big "is this it?!"
@DachshundMomma Glad everything is good and you checked with L&D. I've had no spotting yet but always find these posts and the updates beneficial for when my "is this it?!" moment arrives!
@DachshundMomma I had that happen too. Seriously makes you wonder, but I think that during the two checks where I bled the doctor was a bit more aggressive. I called and the nurse practioner told me it could have just been the fact that a different person had done those checks. But I'm glad they reassured you.
@babycakesday I took their advice and had a glass of juice with ice and some food. Laying on my side doing kick counts. Not many yet and usually he goes nuts. Lots of cramps though. So thankful today is my day off!
@DachshundMomma Hope baby wakes up soon. I waited the hour she told me and I had no movement so she told me to immediately come in. Needless to say I was freaked out, but by the time I was hooked up baby was moving like crazy. The L & D nurse said sometimes it takes up to 2-3 hours before baby reacts. Keep us posted!
My days are bipolar lately, some days I'll have such bad cramps and just generally feel like not moving from my bed. Today is a total different story, I feel great, have the minimum discomfort, have managed to get so much done and I'm not tired what so ever. What shall tomorrow bring? Make up your mind body, one or the other, I can't deal with the constant change!
Utter exhaustion is my biggest symptom right now. Fitbit says I got 7 hours of sleep. I don't feel like I slept at all between tossing and turning, getting up to go to the bathroom, getting up due to heartburn, and listening to DH snore. If I have to deal with this along with all the extra stress at work for the next two weeks, I may go insane.
39+5 and I had my doc appointment today. I am 3 centimeters/60% effaced and she did a membrane sweep. I feel crampy, which is to be expected, but hopefully this gets things going. One can only hope
I still havnt lost my mucus plug or seen any blood, even after the sweep...seems like this little guy is pretty content in there.
@lolomommy1 It's common to not loose your mucus plug until you're well into labor. Good luck! Hope your LO comes soon!
Thank you, that is reassuring! I lost my plug with my other two and I keep comparing every little thing to my previous labors and its driving me crazy. Good to know loosing the plug days before isnt always the case.
@setosh Cant win or loose can we? So many things can be one way or another! And I cant stop reading into every little thing at this point. It's torture.
Last night before I went to bed I started feeling a lot of cervical pressure and stabbing pains (lightening crotch?). It didn't hurt too bad when I was laying down but whenever I got up, I felt like my pelvis was just going to split in two and it was difficult to walk to the bathroom. I haven't felt many contractions but I'm hoping this is the start of early labor and things pick up throughout the day!
Not that this is a big deal or anything, but tomorrow is my niece's 5th birthday party and we are fairly close to them, so I am hoping LO decides to arrive today (or next week) instead!
BP suddenly spiked like crazy yesterday evening at my doc appointment. They wanted to induce me this morning but we decided I would keep measuring my BP twice a day until my induction on Tuesday and only come in if it kept going up. I was adamant about this because I felt pretty tense/emotionally wonky around the time of my appointment and thought the spike in BP was due to that. My BP has been steadily going up these past couple of weeks but this is the first time it's been actually high, and I've never had high BP in the past or during my last pregnancy. This morning my head is pounding and I'm feel rather out of it so we shall see. Had some cramping and irregular contractions last night but nothing indicating real labor.
@rnyland1 hope the blood pressure goes down. Mine was also somewhat high yesterday at my appointment and I've NEVER had blood pressure issues with either of my pregnancies or in my past at all. Keep us updated on how things go!
@rnyland1- I hope your bp goes down! Keep an eye on your headache and if you start feeling even more off. Like PP said, pre-e can happen quickly! Good luck!
So today is my original due date. I woke up to some contractions... Like a 5/10 about 7 minutes apart. Still probably nothing since this has been going on for weeks.
it is 1pm and I woke briefly this morning but quickly fell back to sleep and only now waking up. The exhaustion is insane the past week. If this keeps up I feel like I'll sleep til I'm in labor! Umm need to get stuff done...
Just checked my BP - went down to a cool 125/83 which is significantly lower that yesterday, putting me out of the "high" range for now. Feeling a bit better now too. Thanks for the well wishes everyone!
Tingly vag....I am assuming baby is nestling in to the pelvis more. It isn't even pressure, that has flared up this week again too...it really is a tingle....so weird....39w appt is on Tuesday so we will see if there is more progression or if she is moving down lower.
My heartburn has practically disappeared starting a few days ago. I've been afraid to say anything in case I jinx it, but now maybe its a sign baby dropped???
I'm technically at my due date today and I lost my mucus plug last night. Kind of exciting. For me in the past that meant labor was 2-4 days away, so if my body is consistent with each labor, then it should be close! Here's to hoping for the best, I really don't want to be induced if I don't have to be.
With the heat today and basically being out all day my legs and feet are sooo incredibly swollen and painful. Anyone know any fixes just to take some pressure off? I feel like my skin could split at any moment

@setosh I've had maybe 5 BH this morning
Does "like I was hit by a bus" count as a symptom? Because that's how I feel today.
