Why My Pregnant Self is Crying

I don't know about y'all, but my emotions are all over the place! In a previous board, I found these posts about why we were crying humorous, but also relieving that I was not the only one! So to start us off...

Last night I was craving chocolate at like 10 PM (how I was up that late was a different kind of miracle) but then realized that my grocery store had closed ten minutes before, so naturally I bawled my eyes out. 11 hours later and I still want chocolate...

Re: Why My Pregnant Self is Crying

  • I cry because of that damn huggies commercial with the hugs. Every. Damn. Time. It got me with my son too.
  • Loading the player...
  • Every children's movie I watch with the kids makes me ugly cry.
Recents are, the croods, zootopia, the Lego movie, mega mind
  • I saw a video about a dog on facebook this morning and cried at work...

  • Ugh yes I hear you on the animal thing @ngcsugirl1112! I saw an album cover that had a 3 legged dog on it and sobbed. I'm sure or at least hoping it was photoshopped, but still.

@MrsNap_515 So sorry you've lost your mom and I don't blame you at all for sobbing over Brave, pregnant or not.  <3

I just watched a throwback to the 1996 Olympics U.S. gymnastics team a.k.a. the Magnificent 7.
This sums me up right now.

  • I cried last night because DH ate all the bacon.  He looked at me like I was a lunatic, but I really needed bacon lol
  • Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros  came on the radio. Then my husband told me we were both born on Fridays. sigh.
  • Thanks @dubcompanion   It's been 10 years, but sometimes feels like yesterday, I'm just grateful that she got to meet my DH (then boyfriend), but sad that my children will never meet her...and these pregnancy hormones just add to this LOL

  • I saw Finding Dory last night with a friend and started tearing up when Dory was a child and lost her parents. The friend I was with doesn't know I'm pregnant yet so I did a pretty good job of holding my emotions in, but when I came home I sobbed to husband for a good 10 minutes. People have always said pregnancy hormones mess with your emotions but I never thought it would be like this!

  • So I don't cry. Not ever. My mother calls my grandmother "the cold German" because of her lack of showy emotions, and tells me (often and angrily -- there is no Lorelai/Rory relationship here) that I'm "just like her." But this article got me just a bit choked up. No tears, but as close as I will probably come.

I cried last night because there was no new episode of the bachelorette available to watch on the tv app and I'd been looking forward to it all day.

  • Today I didn't cry, but I spazzed out on my husband after he was not home to take out the stinky rotten lamb meat trash.

He goes to work. Of course he was not home.

    It has begun....

  • Just got home from a Dixie Chicks concert.  Started ugly crying when they played "Travelin' Soldier".

  • A few days before my BFP, I nearly started crying because our B&B didn't serve us as much for breakfast, and there was no pate that morning. My husband kept saying we could just ask for more, but I was just so upset that it wasn't the same as the morning before. I was so upset, and remember thinking "Wow, PMS is really bad this month!"

Hubby thought I was losing my mind lol. I think he was relieved when he connected the dots later and realized it was the growing sprout's fault :)

  • DD hit me in the face with her cup on accident.  And DH asked me if I did something that I had forgotten to do.

I NEVER cry.  Like really, never, except for when I'm pregnant.  So I was sobbing and laughing for a good 30 minutes.

    Here we go again.
  • All 4 One was singing "I Swear" on ABCs new show Greatest Hits....I feel like my tears were justified.

  • I don't get more emotional during pregnancy, but things that have gotten me to tear up in general within the past month or so: Judy kicking butt at the animal police academy in Zootopia (she was living her dream, okay!) and a Buzzfeed video of a Holocaust survivor describing the day Allied forces arrived.

  • I'm not a crier.  I'm very newly pregnant so I haven't experienced anything emotional except sadness that my old life is over assuming this goes to term.  I guess I'm happy about it but I REALLY liked our life before children.  We'll see.  No crying though, I don't even feel pregnant.

@ShaunaT25 I feel the same. When I heard the news last night, all I could think was, "I do not have the emotional capacity to handle another mass tragedy." I just can't do it. I hate that I'm choosing to avoid details about it right now, but it's the only way I won't fall apart.

I'm the type of person who will tear up over a sad or touching story (Humans of New York gets me every time), but I'm not super emotional usually. On Sunday (right before I found out I was pregnant) I watched a documentary series called Generation X on the National Geographic channel. It was great, but I sobbed through it, especially the parts about marriage equality and how families and cultural norms have evolved since the 60s and 70s. All the emotions were out that night.

Was in a meeting at work and some scuttlebutt on the competition came up. They made a bold move recently that isn't resonating with all cultures. In one country, their revenue is down significantly and rumor has it they're going to lay off about 25 people. The company as a whole is the quintessential corporate monster but the people who are going to lose their jobs? Just people like you and me, trying to take care of their families and pay their bills. I had to distract myself to keep from crying in the middle of the meeting.

I read a Facebook status that's being shared by a mom who lost her little boy in a tragic car accident. Seriously, if you come across it, don't read it if you don't want to cry. I cried myself to sleep last night after reading it. It was absolutely devastating, my heart physically hurt.
I read this last night and was a total mess too.
