GTKY: What's something you loved to eat as a kid, but totally grosses you out now? There's really nothing. I ate pretty well as a kid.

WAYDTGKU: All the things + Metformin

R/R: I was really bummed yesterday with CD1, but then I just got all conspiracy theorist because my doctor said if there's no baby by Christmas we'd start infertility testing. Well, that's only 10 months in. Why are we only waiting 10 months if it can take a couple up to a year? Does she already think I won't conceive on my own? Why aren't we doing the testing now then? But WAIT! Why am I mad about this? That means if there is something wrong we'll know sooner? Blah blah blah.  I literally talked myself down a rabbit hole last night.

GTKY: What's something you loved to eat as a kid, but totally grosses you out now? I apparently used to eat onions out of the garden raw like apples.  Now I can't stand anything with onions.

@mokay19 Fingers crossed so hard for your next scan! Grow follies, grow!

@jatwal128 Sorry for CD1. Hugs. Also way to go to your DH. Chocolate is always the answer over flowers.

@ahrains OPKs getting darker usually is a good thing - it can mean you're getting ready to have an LH surge. When mine start to get darker I increase the number of times a day I test (3 times, morning, afternoon, and night). FX you get a + result soon'

  • @mokay FX for you and your follies!

@aliciagoose Woohoo for getting to TTC one month earlier! That's exciting news :) My dr. told me to wait 3 cycles. Womp-womp.

@ahrains I second that advice and say start testing more. This month I got an ALMOST + line a few days ago - it was pretty dark, but not quite there. By the time I test again, it was stark -. I'm pretty confident I either missed my surge or maybe caught the tail/beginning end of it. I was testing twice a day, but if you have the cheapie wondfos, just do 3x like @aliciagoose mentioned.

R/R:Another high temp this morning - yay! One more and I get CH. If that's the case, I think my whole30 only delayed my O by about a week. Which ain't bad I guess.

    CS/Q: Not today

GTKY: What's something you loved to eat as a kid, but totally grosses you out now?
Hmm, I would maybe say ramen (like the cheap kind) - but we all know that shiz aint true.  :D

Honestly, when I was a kid I ate a lot of processed junk food - but if I'm being honest, I still really like those things (although I don't eat them). I think maybe it would have to be coca-cola/dr. pepper/etc. I had a DP a few months ago and it was so sweet I could barely stand it.
  • @AliciaGoose @hezzer78 Thank you ladies so much!  I have a few FR pink dyes left but I got wondfos and have been using those.  I tested this morning but didn't bring one to work so I will test as soon as I get home.  I appreciate the advice!  And Hezzer, don't even front on those ramen  :D

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, OPKs starting tomorrow. I have a pretty consistent 27-28 day cycle so I should be able to catch it, but I've never turned an OPK before. Also, losing weight.

R/R: I'm feeling a lot more positive about life the past two days, which is great after a crappy weekend. I also bought this really cute cup at Starbucks that I've been using for water and its making me drink a ton of it!

CS/Q: I know this was discussed recently but I can't find it, SORRY! What is the consensus on the pee used for OPKs? FMU? Waiting until you haven't peed for 4 hours? What about testing multiple times throughout the day? As mentioned above, I drink a lot of water and I never go 4 hours without peeing. I barely go 2 hours without peeing.

GTKY: What's something you loved to eat as a kid, but totally grosses you out now? Hot dogs. And the funny thing is that they do sometimes still sound good, but on the rare occasion that I allow myself to have one, they make me sick. No bueno.

  • @Maggie1202 If you're only going to test once a day, then mid afternoon (12-3ish) urine with as long of a hold as possible is best. I usually test once a day in the afternoon until I see the line start to darken a bit, and then I test 3x per day after that (morning, afternoon, and night). I've never caught a morning + but I know some people have.

  • @Maggie1202 isn't it funny how something as simple as a cup can help so much with the water intake?? I got a 24oz tervis and now will easily go through 4 or more of those during the work day. I also use a straw because apparently i'm a toddler. But the straw makes it.

I don't use fmu for OPKs, I either use smu or test later on in the day. In terms of how many times to test, I do once a day until the line starts getting darker, then twice a day until it's positive to be able to pinpoint O.

*insert heavy sigh here*  Charting, PNV, B6, CoQ10, back to EPO, RRL and green tea, Mucinex and OPKs closer to FW, extracting as much baby batter from OH as he and geography will let me

    R/R:
I apparently thought I was going to be that speshul snoflake who would get KTFU the very next cycle after a CP.  I told myself I didn't think that, but apparently I also LIE.  Anyway, in spite of the crazy busy week+ that we just had (oh, and hi everyone...I missed you guys!!), between flying cross-country for a funeral and my sister and nieces and nephew visiting the last few days, I still managed to temp (badly...turns out redeyes really do eff you up) and mostly remember my vitamins.  And count the days until I could test (BFN, natch).  Then AF decided to show up right in the middle of my sister's visit, and I had to be cheerful and entertaining Auntie (which I truly did love and really was probably lucky to have the distraction), so I only had a few minutes to cry without actually shedding tears.  They flew out yesterday, and I'm mostly back to planning this cycle rather than succumbing and being a slobbery mess.

Oh!  I still am grateful that my cycle was relatively normal, aside from the weird low temps I had while out of state.  I had no idea what to expect after the CP.

And!  I still have my appointment with the fertility specialist on 7/21.  I finally filled out and mailed the paperwork for that consultation, and all I have to say is:

    CS/Q:
    Nope

    GTKY:
I can't think of anything I ate as a kid that would gross me out now.  My parents tell me that when I was a baby/toddler, I willingly ate tomatoes.  I no longer do that.  Fresh tomatoes gross me out to no end...

R/R: So my husband is in a really bad mood today. He's super grumpy over work and everything. And he seems to have decided that today is the day to have the whole "you're not doing your job cleaning the house. Nothing is getting done around here and it's a shitmess" talk. And I'm not saying he's in a bad mood because of the talk. He's totally right. The house is a mess. There are clean clothes that got folded and never put away. There is a pile of mail I've been waiting for him to go through (I take out all the obvious junk mail and throw it away but anything that looks like it may be important I keep and let him look at it before throwing it out since he pays the bills and such), the kitchen counter has collected tons of stuff that belongs in other places in the house (sample paint cans, cat stuff, medications that need to go back to the medicine cabinet, etc.), and so on. The house is just super messy. I'm a housewife so my only real job is to keep the house clean, cook dinner and that sort of thing. I was doing a pretty good job keeping the house clean before.. everything. Last fall our house was really nice, clean and organized. I was cooking about 5 nights a week. And generally I was being a successful housewife. **TW: several losses briefly mentioned** But then my grandpa died. We were really close and his death hit me really hard. And then 2 months later I had my first (or at least first since TTC) MC. And that was incredibly hard and depressing. And, if we're being honest, I was really depressed. I was crying more days than not. I had a lot of days where I didn't want to get out of bed and I certainly didn't want to go organize things in the computer room or dust the living room. So little things started not getting done. And the clutter started accumulating. I finally was sorta pulling myself out of my depressing this spring but then I had the 3 CPs back to back. And after the 3rd CP, our 4th loss, I was just broken. I was so incredibly depressed I was only doing the absolute most basic things around the house like keeping toilet paper in the bathrooms, washing the towels when we were about to run out and doing on basic cleaning in the kitchen and such.**End TW: it's safe to start reading again now** And so basically while I've been so depressed our house has gone from being really nice, clean and organized to a giant fucking mess. And we've apparently gotten a small infestation of baby spiders.

So my husband starts going around the house like "WHY IS THIS HERE!? THIS DOESN'T BELONG HERE! JUST PUT THIS SHIT AWAY!" (caps for his general angry manner and raised voice) and doing the whole "Why do I have to do EVERYTHING? I work. And I have to do all the cleaning around the house also? Get your shit together!"

And possibly the worst part is I know he's right. It's my one and only job and I can't even do that. I guess everything with the house on top of all the trouble we've had with TTC (that seems to all be on my end since my husband doesn't appear to have any MFI) I just feel very inadequate. This gif sorta sums it up:

    And now I'm sad.

    CS/Q: n/a

GTKY: What's something you loved to eat as a kid, but totally grosses you out now? Hot dogs. I loved hot dogs when I was little and now how they're overly processed mystery animal parts grosses me out. If you think about it hot dogs appear to be the same consistency as cat food. And things with mayonnaise. Like I used to put mayo on sandwiches and such and now it just really grosses me out. I'm all about the honey mustard now and hold the mayo.

I think I pretty much just lived off white flour pasta for a large part of my life.

Apparently I used to chow down on all the fruit and veggies before (according to my mother) I succumbed to peer pressure and relentless teasing about my healthy lunches and stopped. I'm slowly working my way back to eating more of them, but basically unless it ground into a liquid smoothie, I don't watch a majority of fruit or veggies anymore. I'm weird.

Edit: because AF is not the same as AK

R/R: Rave: My dog's new harness is in the same box as our baby making stuff at the post office. She hasn't gone for a walk in a week because she slipped out of her harness. I had to buy an xxxsmall, having a 3.4 lb dog can be a struggle sometimes.

Rant: DH and I are trying to eat more fruits and veggies but it's hard. I prefer them fresh but they go bad so quickly. I may have to grocery shop 2x a week just to stock up on fresh stuff.

CS/Q: Any tips on eating more fruits and veg? Especially fresh and keeping them fresh. I know eating healthier can only improve my chances of a BFP.

Velveeta mac and cheese. DH still loves it and I know I loved it but now when he makes it he has to eat it in a different room because even the smell makes me nauseous. He also adds ketchup to add insult to injury.

  • @MrsPamda It doesn't taste like raspberries, but I do have to say it's a really flavorful and delicious tea! I just started this cycle but I'm really enjoying it. I drink it plain but like @pretzel2plus1 said it's even better with honey!

@slavenski Time differences make it tough! Have you bought about participating at night over there when it's morning here and we're all posting? And then responding to what you miss after you go to sleep in the am over there? Not sure if you can / want to bump at night but it's a thought! Either way we appreciate you coming in here regardless of the time.
