How did your appointment go overall? Good! Weight, blood pressure, and baby's heart rate are all good. My belly is measuring right on track.

Any ultrasound or doppler? Just Doppler. I have to schedule a growth scan for 28 weeks.

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes

For Fun: BBQ? Fireworks? Beach? Home improvements? Finishing the nursery?  How did you spend the holiday weekend? Or just the regular weekend, for those not celebrating the 4th?  We went to a few picnics and watched fireworks.

How did your appointment go overall? Went well! Just Doppler, weight, urine sample, blood pressure, and GD test

    Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I'm on the low end of normal for weight gain so my doctor said its fine for now but wouldn't hurt to gain a little more. Passed my GD test but my level was waaayy too low. They were surprised I was still standing and not passed out on the floor! Baby measured right at 25 weeks.

For Fun: BBQ? Fireworks? Beach? Home improvements? Finishing the nursery?  How did you spend the holiday weekend? Or just the regular weekend, for those not celebrating the 4th?  Pool and baby shopping!
  • How far along are you? Appointment was yesterday and I was 23+2

How did your appointment go overall? It went ok. This was my second anatomy scan as baby was not cooperating at ALL at my first one. I had to go to a MFM office and they still weren't able to get all the pictures they needed, so I have to go for my third scan next week. They still need to get a good profile shot and a shot of her upper lip (I guess to look at her palate). Fingers crosses that third time's a charm!

Any ultrasound or doppler? An ultrasound

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, it was reassuring to find out that everything looks good so far. She's just being a stubborn little baby! At my last appointment, my OB had noted that my amniotic fluid was a bit low, but everything looks normal now. Also saw that baby is using my cervix for both a pillow and a punching bag!

For Fun: BBQ? Fireworks? Beach? Home improvements? Finishing the nursery? How did you spend the holiday weekend? Or just the regular weekend, for those not celebrating the 4th? Went to a BBQ with some friends and did some serious nesting. We also picked up the nursery furniture which I am very excited to set up!

How did your appointment go overall? Not great, pretty concerning and confusing

Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound (fetal echocardiogram)

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I didn't have questions or concerns before it really since I was just going back for them to get the pics they couldn't get last time, so this kind of just left me with a lot. I have to go back for a third try in a month because they still didn't get a clear pic of the one heart structure bc her head was tucked to her chest. The dr said from what they could see, it might be nothing or it might be something that would require surgery after birth. If they can't get it next time (if she's not magically stretched out flat instead of curled up at 32 weeks??), we'll have to wait until they can check after she's born to rule it out.

We worked on the nursery, saw fireworks, and went to a BBQ
  • @UponAStar16 I'm sorry you didn't get better news. My sister is an ultrasound tech and scanning babies can be so difficult since they're moving targets and you can't make them move into the position you need. I hope the next scan brings good news! Thinking of you!

  • @UponAStar16 Sorry your scan wasn't completed again =( I hope she picks that little head up next time and there is a big fat nothing to worry about! You pick your head up too in the mean time ♡

@books&icecream What is it like in Norway? That's where my Great Great Grandparents are from and I want to go one day :)
  • @UponAStar16 sorry that is so frustrating. Fingers crossed for a good look and good news next month!

@books&icecream YAY!! So glad for the good news about your cervix! (Lol that sounded creepy) I thought the GD test was nothing too! And I'm not a drinker so I thought it would be an issue getting it all down.

How did your appointment go overall? Went great, short and sweet!

Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, just heard his little heart beat

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Nope, didnt really have any questions. I have my glucose test in 2 weeks, and we scheduled my next appointment which will be our last monthly one!

For Fun: BBQ? Fireworks? Beach? Home improvements? Finishing the nursery?  How did you spend the holiday weekend? Or just the regular weekend, for those not celebrating the 4th? We did beach on Sunday, then BBQ and fireworks at home on the 4th!
  • @UponAStar16 I can relate to the frustration of not knowing. Fingers crossed that third time's a charm for you too!

  • @books&icecream I didn't mind the GD drink either.  I had the fruit punch and I thought it tasted like those Mondo drinks from the 90s.
  • Mine today isn't an official appointment but I have to go do my GD test. Hopefully all is well!

  • Thanks @bnsmith85 I am really glad to have that done and out of the way. Now to wait for my test results to come back. I sure felt crappy halfway through my timer. I hope that's normal. :/

  • How far along are you: 23 weeks

How did your appointment go overall? It went well, I think. Baby's heartbeat sounded great, but I gained 9 lbs in a month. My OB says she thinks it's mostly water retention because she doesn't think I'm eating that many calories to warrant a 9 lb weight gain in a month, but who knows? She made me a little nervous when she moved my glucose test up a week though.

Ultrasound or Doppler? Doppler! Baby boy's heartbeat was 147

Did doctor answer any questions you have? Yes, but I also left with a few questions I forgot to ask since DD was with us and she was starting to act a fool.

For fun: We went up north to Michigan for a long 4th of July weekend vacation. It was just me, DH, and DD for the first one ever (usually my mom tags along) and it was bittersweet. It was our first and last family vacation with just the three of us and it was so much fun. Can't wait to add baby brother to our trip next year and see them play together.

  • @nlane0723 It is so beautiful there! We went up to Traverse City for Cherry Festival! It was so much fun! I didn't get a chance to have cherry pie, which I'm really sad about right now, but we had Moomers ice cream and it was to die for! I am so in love with those quaint little beachy towns!

  • Oh I miss Traverse City! I'm from Big Rapids and most of my family lives in East Grand Rapids/Cascade. I miss the lakes, don't miss the winter. Haha.

  • @nlane0723 I really enjoyed our time there so much. Michigan seems like a great place to raise a family. We're from just outside of Chicago so we get some pretty brutal winters as well, but we're far enough not to have to deal with lake effect snow. Our beaches just aren't as inviting, though. I feel like unless you're a 20 year old GTL fan, then you're kind of out of place at North Avenue beach. It's just young'uns cruising for the opposite sex. I realize I sound like a crotchety old woman here...

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 I catch myself disassociating with and complaining about all these early 20's whipper snappers myself! Haha
But I'm not even 30 yet... not sure what that says about me.

@AllyTheKid Yes! I think I'm just an old soul, hahah. I've been over the club/party scene since my mid-twenties and even then, I only liked to go so I could dress up, not really for the atmosphere. I much prefer a good ol' sports bar where I can actually sit and wear comfortable shoes, lol.

Belatedly edited because my words are all jumbled!!!

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 I was never into that scene, but then again we don't have clubs around my small town anyway, and the thought of going to a club in the city was terrifying to me, I have no idea how one is supposed to dress or act! I'm happy with lake party cook-outs, bon fires, and the occasional concert haha
  • @AllyTheKid Yes! All of those things sound a million times more fun to me!

  • Suuuuper late response but thanks @LGW2015 - I never imagined discussing my cervix with so many people  :D

@AllyTheKid Norway is fantastic! Culture is similar to Germany /northern Europe but more relaxed and friendly. EVERYONE speaks English.  Also there is so much water and only 5 million people, so pretty much everyone not in the Oslo city center lives right next to the water. I definitely recommend visiting. Bonus - it's so safe they leave their babies outside in the strollers while they shop or eat, so would be a place to go with little kids. Downside - Norway is VERY expensive, think $10 for a beer.

  • @books&icecream One day I'll visit, I'm sure the experience is worth the cost!
