Thanks for the response @furbabymom2007 all his say was that agglutination was present, not how much. I'm only working with a gyne right now until I get an RE referral so maybe he doesn't know as much.

Fwiw my OBGYN said "his results looks fine" and then when I saw my RE she actually went through them with me and showed me the actuall comments on them.

@mrsdaddario thanks for creating this! Is it ok if I jump in and participate even though I'm benched?

Diagnosis (If you've been): PCOS (and according to the RE, MFI Morphology--but based on the number, it's very mild).

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Next cycle we will do Femara + Ovidrel + IUI. I think I will stay at 5mg for my Femara, but I need to confirm that with my RE once we are ready to start trying again.

How are things going? Just ready to move on and start over with another medicated cycle. I am very impatient and hate waiting!

Hi! new here! I have been lurking for awhile on the WTO/TWW threads but haven't jumped in. Now is as good a time as any i think

Diagnosis (If you've been): unexplained secondary infertility

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW, 8dpiui

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) letrozole, IUI

How are things going? ehh. My progesterone was tested yesterday at 7dpo. My level was a 2.1 so they started me on progesterone supplements yesterday afternoon. I usually have a 10 day LP so I should be getting my period on Friday. I feel like if my progesterone was so low that close to my expected period there is no saving this cycle and all the progesterone is really going to do is delay the inevitable. I am upset at my RE for not starting the progesterone earlier at like 3dpo.

Any questions? Not right now.

@rh10264706 Welcome! I had 7DPO progesterone check today. The nurse who did my blood draw always seems to hit a nerve in my arm when I get her. Ugh.

I'm sorry about your progesterone level. At least you know that you may benefit from it next cycle if you have one.

@mrsdaddario yes this is my first iui.

@MrsBinPA yeah thats true. I'm just frustrated because the first time I saw my RE a few months ago I told him that I thought one problem was low progesterone based on my semi short (although still "normal") luteal phase and my temps. Also, my OB had checked my progesterone once too and it was low. So I think he should listened to me and put me on it, because really what does it hurt? It definitely shows how important it is to really be your own advocate even though for me that's sometimes hard.

I'm happy to be participating. I was a little overwhelmed to participate in the daily WTO/TWW threads because some days I like to try and put it all out of my mind, especially during WTO. My three closest friends IRL are all pregnant so I sometimes feel like its coming at me from all angles haha. I think its great that @mrsdaddario started this thread for everyone going through some form of IF. thank you!

@rh10264706 with that history I would be annoyed too & they probably should have just put you on it! Sometimes I swear they don't really listen to us/or connect all the pieces.

I also have moments of frustration with the RE practice because it is SO huge (4 locations in and around Philly) that there really isn't much personal connection. The nurse today talked to me like I had never been through this rodeo before. I find that annoying.

@rh10264706 - I totally understand your hesitance to jump in WTO/TWW. When I had long (50 day) cycles, being in WTO for 36 days made me very overwhelmed, anxious and down on myself. Even now that I've started fertility testing, jumping in WTO sometimes makes me a bit twitchy. And being in TWW makes me SS and be BSC haha. It's good to read other people's stuff just to see where they are at and be able to give support though even if I don't always post.

@mokay19 - I had DH go to my first one but generally I'm trying to get 7am appts so i can get to work and he is still sleeping at that time. But I see tons of couples at my RE office.

@mokay19 my husband came to all of my scans because it worked with his schedule and the location is convenient for both of us in terms of work. I would feel completely comfortable going on my own if he wasn't able to make it.

My husband doesn't come to mine because it is about and hour away from his office (only 15 away from mine). I also have never felt I needed him there for any. They are so quick and I get a printout and text him the details right after it is over.

Though... I'd kind of like him to come so he can see how "fun" the ultrasound is. I don't think understand what's it's like and how much I don't like going through it once or more a week.

Thank you all for your responses! I was hoping that he could come just to see what happens and maybe understand a little bit better but he didn't get back from training last night until 4 hours ago so I don't think he'll be waking up to come, unfortunately.

Diagnosis (If you've been): So far... mild? hormonal imbalance in the LP, otherwise none yet.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Month 9, Cycle 10, Creighton Cycle 2 (plus 6 months NTNP); TWW CD 20/5 DPO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Second cycle on 100mg oral Progesterone 3-12DPO; Estrodiol and P4 labs at Pre-Peak and 7DPO.
 
How are things going? Not sure if I belong here, but I am really starting to feel that isolation in the WTO/TWW threads. I am really trying to find the silver lining in all of this, but I'm still wrapping my head around the moment when the Creighton instructor put, "infertility," onto my chart. She was like, "I'll just put that so the doctor will be a bit more aggressive with your action plan." Uhm... ya. I really don't want to think of myself as an infertility patient, but if that is what is going on, at some point I'm probably going to have to accept that. I second @Marley629 wanting to be the SS who gets her BFP before having to do the next procedure. So at this point, we are hoping for a BFP, and otherwise will have to look into scheduling HSG/SA, which I know is all pretty standard and really not a big deal, but it will be interesting since I have never put anything through our health share.

That's what stresses me out moreso than going through the procedures is going through the red tape and paperwork. :/

Any questions? How important is it that the doctor I see for my HSG be the doctor who is following my future pregnancy? I did some research in January and found what seems like a good OB close to me with a Midwife right there in house, (or vice-versa, really is what I was looking for). But this other doctor they recommended for the HSG looks like he is affiliated with a hospital that no longer uses midwives and saw several (admittedly old) reviews that said they felt a natural-birth experience was NOT supported at that hospital. There are no birthing centers in NJ. I at least wanted to be followed by a midwife and have a good Ob in place as well, so if there's any complication, we're still in good hands. How important is it that I get the HSG by the same doctor who has the midwife at their practice, and is affiliated with a different hospital where I would rather give birth? Or is it just a test like going to a lab, I really don't care if the same person drew my blood as last time?

@BusinessWife it really doesn't matter who does the HSG. Another RE at the office I go to did mine. My RE got the results and the X-rays. Neither doc will be associated with the rest of a pregnancy. It's like getting a follicle scan... Anyone there can do it, then the doc reviews the results.

@BusinessWife - I had my HSG done by my RE, and obviously my RE won't be my OB. So in my mind, I see the HSG as a part of the infertility/TTC process and not the pregnancy process. Did they only recommend the one dr affiliated with the hospital?

@furbabymom2007 Ya that makes sense @Megzb510 Basically, yea, she gave me a card for this guy b/c he is affiliated with the Gianna Center for Women's Health i.e. Creighton and Napro stuff. But then I was surprised because when I looked into the actual HOSPITAL he is affiliated with, everything I was coming across said they stopped using widwives at some point, 6 years ago maybe, so that just seems backwards. I don't mind so much seeing him for the HSG though, if that's who they recommend, as long as I'm not signing myself up to have a pregnancy followed by this guy - or more to the point, signing myself up NOT to have a midwife/doula as my primary caregivers in L&D.

@BusinessWife - definitely stick to your guns on what care you expect for your pregnancy and L&D. If you want a doula and midwife, it's smart to do the research on the hospital before picking a practice that only delivers at a certain hospital. If you do the HSG with the dr affiliated with the hospital, it gives you a chance to meet him and ask if the reviews are true.

I had no intention of using the OB my PCP referred me to for further testing for pregnancy simply because he delivers at a hospital over an hour from where I live (there are several closer) and I had nightmares about being in labour and stuck in rush hour traffic trying to get to his hospital. Like you, I'd like to use a midwife. I figured I would go to the OB for the testing and if I ever got pregnant I would look for someone closer to home, but knowing that I had the OB that did my testing as a back up in case I had trouble finding someone closer that was taking patients, or that I liked. I would use the doctor you were referred to for testing but look elsewhere when you get pregnant if you aren't comfortable with them or they don't provide the care you are looking for @BusinessWife

@BusinessWife When I was in need of an OB, a co-worker suggested a provider she used to see. She said the office was very "baby centered". The doctor she was speaking of did not have appointments available for 4 months, so I settled for another OB in the practice who was only out 3 weeks. I went through all of my testing with her, hsg/ultrasound/blood work. I absolutely did not like her. She had horrible bedside manor and I felt like she treated me like a time slot. When DH needed his SA done, she told me they send the samples to a fertility clinic for the actual testing. She said we should start me off with her office with medicated cycles, but since I didn't like her, I decided to just see if the SA could be a gateway into an appointment with the RE's. Which it turned out was an option, so I went with them. I remember the OB telling me, after having told her I wanted to work with the RE instead, that "you'll just have to come back here once you're pregnant anyways". As if it was guaranteed I would go back to her. Hell. No. She also happens to be 1.5 hours away from my house. I was like, yeah lady, okay. So I would say, stick with this doctor for the initial testing, and then move on. We are in no way shape or form married to them for their services. I think, as long as we can find an OB/midwife who is taking new patients, "shopping around" for one is okay.

@mrsdaddario Wow! Good for you! That's the way to do it. And that's what I'm talking about - how you handle these kind of transitional decisions can totally make a difference. I did that with my OBGYN in Vegas. I found who I felt was the BEST Ob in town, but of course was booking so far out. And I was totes not KU and just needed a Pap anyway. So I saw his PA for the Pap, and of course, didn't get KU while we were out there anyway, but even if I HAD, technically I would have already been an existing patient of the doctor I wanted, (just he had never met me yet! lol) Actually, I ran into him in the hallway at one of their other locations once or twice and I felt like I was seeing a celebrity. lol I may have actually shook his hand just to briefly introduce myself, so I could say we had met before if he DID ever become my treating physician...

So far, as far as I've gotten is this other Ob who I WANT following me doesn't perform them anyway, unless it's in the hospital and part of something else already going on. They recommended Associated Radiology. And when I asked the Creighton lady, she said either of my regular doctors can order the HSG. So I asked if there were a reason to have it performed by an Ob vs. just walking into the outpatient radiology center, and she hasn't gotten back to me on that yet. I don't want to offend anyone, but honestly if it's simpler to just have my current treating physician order it, and walk into a private radiology center, doesn't that sound a lot simpler than bringing another physician into the mix... whose actual Ob services I'm not going to ever use? It would be different if it were an RE and I wanted to have my care transferred over there, though, like you your case @mrsdaddario We'll have to see what happens, and of course, FX that my BFP this cycle makes the whole topic moot!

Diagnosis (If you've been): Unexplained Infertility - but I think there is some MFI with DH's high DNA fragmentation results

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): cycle 15 TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) We've had all of our testing done for a while and everything checks out good except the DNA Frag being high. We've been in semi-denial about our diagnosis and treatment options, but planning to go forward with medicated IUI's in August.

How are things going? OK this week, It's been a very rough journey, with so many more emotions than I've ever had to deal with. Once we decided we would go ahead with IUI's, I felt a bit more at peace.

I'm kind of pissed the urologist even ordered this test at this point, it doesn't seem to be a standard test and all it's doing is causing me to stress about our chances. Everything I read on the internet about it is very negative.

I'm glad you've been able to find a little peace with your decision to go ahead with IUIs in August.

I don't really have anything to add on the sperm DNA fragmentation and such. I'm still trying to get my husband to do a SA. It does seem a little odd that the urologist ordered a test for DNA fragmentation if it isn't something they normally test for.

Thanks @NamelessAria It is frustrating that the urologist and our RE are at the same clinic, but don't seem to be communicating. My RE isn't worried at all about the dna frag results, saying that washing the sperm for IUI prep will filter out the damaged ones

I guess all we can do its try it and see.
I'm sorry you are on the road to infertility testing too

The world isn't fair. I'm hopeful for you though, I'm hopeful they will be able to find a reason for your losses that is easily fixed. Thinking of you.

Hey @ReesaAnne16 !! Glad to see an update from you! I think we are both heading for our first medicated IUIs next month... maybe we can get through this together? I still haven't quite come to a full decision because the fertility meds freak me out; I'll probably decide on impulse on CD3 (which would be, oh, next week) and that will be that. It sucks because I really wanted to give us 3 months of TI after the hsg, thinking the procedure would help our chances, but I'm also getting soooooo impatient.

I hope your RE is correct and the washing helps. I'm really glad you have a plan though! I'll have all my fingers crossed for you!!!!

@mrsdaddario Thanks! I hope they do the trick. We've already discussed maxing out our IUI trys at 3-4. It isn't worth putting $$ into that when we could be saving for IVF. Hopefully it doesn't matter.

I am really happy that there is an IF checkin over here. This board is more 'entertaining' where IF is more to the point - they both serve their purpose!
