Babywearing!

Re: Babywearing!

  • But, can you put on a carrier while pregnant? I don't feel like that would be very comfortable with a bump. Or at least not the buckle carriers.
I've thought of that, too. And how my bump would effect the fit. However, I'm mainly interested in wraps for the first month or two, so I hope I could still get a good idea of what I like.

  • @SarahDarah333 How was it going to the baby wearing meeting? I've been debating whether or not to attend a meeting now before baby so that I can have some carriers already bought or after her birth so I can have her there with me to try everything on. I'd like to hear from someone that went without a baby.

(I could take my first, but wearing an almost 2 year old is going to be much different than wearing a newborn.)
It's not till the end of the month, but I'll let you know ;)

@camichael84 I recently went to my first meeting and they were so helpful. We also have a weighted baby to practice with. They did not recommend buying a SSC/buckle carrier based on how it feels pregnant because they can feel different when you're not. If your interested in wraps or ring slings, you can try multiple different kinds to see what you like...those are pretty straightforward and it's just personal preference rather than a good fit.
  • Reviving this thread for an Ergo question.  I have the 360 and the shoulder straps do not lay flat. The outer edges stick up. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm thinking something is not adjusted correctly. I've watched YouTube videos but no luck.
  • Can you cross the straps across your back? I don't know Ergo but my Mei Tei Freestyle I can do either, and crossing is definitely better than keeping them straight.
  • I don't think the straps can cross but I'm not a 100% sure on that because I know they can cross the body for hip wearing. I put the Ergo on today and had DH look at it. He loosened the clip that is across the back between shoulder blades and that helped a bit so maybe I just had it too tight.
  • They cannot cross. Can you post a picture?
