Re: PGAL check-in 7/11
-32weeks! 3 weeks ago at my ultrasound babygirl measured 32 weeks with her bone lengths and weight. She weighed in at 3lbs 11oz and the tech said they typically gain 1/2lb a week so that would put her approximately 5lbs4oz.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
-Mentally, I'm good... In terms of PGAL brain. However, this pregnancy has been extremely rough with sickness and what have you. I am just emotionally exhausted. I'm so sad that I can't do all the things I love right now. I never feel well and I've actually had to double my nausea meds this past week when I'm actually trying to come off of them. Ive also been dealing with some really painful BH, restless legs, migraines, and dizziness.
I guess I'm just whining but I'm just so exhausted mentally and physically. Dh and I have seriously only had sex TWICE since the BFP and he's been a trooper but it's wearing on our relationship. He is amazing and has picked up so much slack and never complains.
Induction is set for 8/29 so it's comforting to be able to say that I'll have a baby next month. I am so done but also know that baby needs to keep baking!
Next milestone or appointment your looking forward to?
-I have my 32 week check up tomorrow and other than that the next big milestone is delivery!
R/R/R?
-I guess I did this in the "how are you feeling" section.
Questions?
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day?
-I clearly need a pick me up and my normals aren't doing the trick.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally, it's been a rough couple of weeks. My angel's DD was almost two weeks ago and it was a hard few days to get through. I've been following the birth announcements for other boards as we pass each month and seeing the ladies on my former BMB get their LOs made me happy for them and sad for us... At the same time, I keep focusing on this pregnancy and reminding myself that this is our rainbow. I always talk to our angel and ask that he be his sister's guardian angel and take care of her. It might sound silly to some but it brings me peace. I haven't been super active lately because of this.
Physically, I've been dealing with a flareup of a muscle issue so I've been in a lot of pain. I've been cleaning constantly and up doing things so that has brought it on. Otherwise, I'm dealing with the GD, occasional nausea and vomiting, hip pain, insomnia and round-the-clock exhaustion.
Next milestone or appointment your looking forward to? I think 36 weeks.
R/R/R? I'm excited to be in the 30s now and I can't wait to feel 100% confident in this baby's viability, if that's ever possible. I've read (by chance) a few stories of moms losing LOs at 31 weeks so I'm constantly doing a mental check to see if I remember feeling her or not. I have (except for Friday morning and had a great NST) but the thought is always there. We saw baby at an elective ultrasound and it was surreal seeing how big she is, her chubby cheeks, baby fat everywhere and everything. It was amazing.
Questions?
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day? I guess I kind of mentioned it above. I always talk to my angel (and to this LO). I used to apologize A LOT to him in the beginning and middle of this pregnancy but now I try to remember that these things happen, as unfair as they might seem, and that we are so incredibly lucky to have gotten pregnant again so quickly and to have continued to stay pregnant. I had a few freakouts when people started buying things for this baby but now I've tried to adopt the mantra of "everything will be fine; why wouldn't it be?".
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom - You gave some really great advice for keeping positive and making it through the day. I'm going to remember it for the days I need it. Passing the angel baby's due date is really tough! I've been through it and it's not fun. I think it's really sweet that you maintain a connection to your angel. It's definitely not something to feel silly about.
How many weeks and size of baby? 31 weeks! On Friday baby measured 3lbs at my biophysical ultrasound which is small, 13th percentile.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally I'm having some difficulty. As I said above, baby is measuring in the 13th percentile and my fundal height as only grown .5 centimetres in the last 2 weeks. I'm hoping it's nothing and that this is just a small baby (hubby was born perfectly healthy but only 4lbs 12oz). With PGAL brain, it's really hard not to worry though. Physically, i'm feeling tired but otherwise pretty fine. If I don't drink enough water I get heartburn and the heat of summer's not fun but really, I feel pretty lucky physically.
Next milestone or appointment your looking forward to? Tomorrow we're attending a home birth information night that my midwife is running. I'm really looking forward to getting more information which will hopefully help me make the decision regarding where to give birth (home and hospital are both options for me with my midwives).
R/R/R? I just want to know that everything is ok with this baby and he/she's just small but perfectly healthy.
Questions? Does anyone else have experience with a low Papp-a result during IPS testing and having baby measure small later? I know there's a concern about potential placenta/umbilical cord issues but both of those looked good on the ultrasound.

I try to put my feet up, get something tasty to eat put something fun on netflix and just relax. I find having the time to do so (since school has ended

@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I'm obsessed with fetal viability/ how long the baby would need to spend in the NICU/ etc. I am sure I am driving my husband insane with my chirpy updates on what would happen if the baby were born today, right now. I can't stop, though. Ugh. My SIL who just had her first (also PGAL) went through the same thing. Morbid yet somehow comforting as time goes on.
@ducks6 our LO went from measuring really big to a little small between 20 and 29 weeks. The perinatalogist said it's fine and reminded us that whatever percentile we are, there are that many babies out of 100 smaller and totally fine. Try not to worry too much if you do not have to!
How many weeks and size of baby? Aaaalmost 31, and the baby feels like the size and weight of a bowling ball with a cone shaped head pointing down and out my cervix. Yeeouch.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I am tired and big. I am so grateful to be healthy and not on bed rest and still baking this very active little boy, but I could really do with the next 9 weeks or so (8? 7? Please?) passing faster.
Next milestone or appointment you're looking forward to? I am not sure I am really looking forward to much specifically until birth. I have to cancel one appointment with this week, can't remember if it's the cardiologist or OB, because of a work thing I cannot get out of. This is my last week traveling for any out of office things. I keep telling myself that, and I hope I stick to it.
R/R/R? I just posted this on the randoms thread, but man, I cannot imagine getting much bigger. I think I went through a crazy growth spurt last week, where I was exhausted and wanted to sleep like 11 hours a night. Now I just pass through a crowd and everyone looks at me like they feel super sorry for me, and I am not sure I disagree with them. Again, glad to be relatively healthy, aside from fatigue/ anemia/ dizziness. But man, I am getting to be uncomfortable and over it.
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day? I like to play some sing-along type music... I have been stressed with work so today I sang at the top of my lungs to the Indigo Girls for awhile, yesterday it was the Beatles. It doesn't always work but a lot of times I find it comforting.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally good, although I'm starting to stress about not having anything ready for the baby. Our nursery-to-be is still very much an over-cluttered office, packed with years' worth of old electronics, paper records, two desks/computers, and all my teaching stuff.
Physically, I've been having some mild nausea lately that may be related to the iron supplement I've started taking. Also, some vertigo and fatigue.
Next milestone or appointment your looking forward to? OB check-in on Wednesday.
R/R/R? Had our first baby shower over the weekend. It was a coed dinner with our college friends that ended at a bar. Not exactly the traditional affair, but it was lots of fun. DH was really hoping that nobody would have bought us anything and was uncomfortable to have to open gifts in front of the group, but we're the first in our group to even be close to having kids, so everyone is really into the pseudo-aunt/uncle thing.
Questions?
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day? Cup of tea with a sweet snack and a book; a nap if I'm really feeling worn down; sometimes, I like to watch a really sad movie so that I can have a good, solid cry - the emotional outlet can really help to express the pent-up stress or sadness.
I hope things get easier on you mentally. It sounds like you have a good handle on things even if you do still have concerns. In some ways, after having my fourth loss, it got easier but in other ways it didn't. I never feel completely at ease. And at 32 weeks, I still don't feel connected to this baby which breaks my heart. Sometimes I have to detach from the Internet in general because I read and research and its borders on obsessing over things I can't control.
How many weeks and size? 31w6d - Asparagus
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally ok, physically like hot garbage.
Next milestone or appt you are looking forward to? My 32 week appt tomorrow.
R/R/R: I had my first visit to the L&D triage early yesterday morning. I woke up just before 5 am with a weird tightening pain in my abdomen. I thought the baby was stretching, but it continued. And then became somewhat regular, coming at 4-5 mins. After an hour, I called the on call doc. Everything checked out, cervix is still closed, baby's heart rate was good, they didn't catch any contractions while I was on the monitor, so I got sent home (thank god!). They chalked it up to a weird Braxton Hicks episode. I never had BH that were painful or regular, so it was all new to me. I'm just thankful that everything is still checking out ok.
GTKY: What is something that you do when you feel down? Something to help get you through the day? I could use some ideas. I'm bad...I turn to snacking or internet shopping or zone out in front of the TV. I do sometimes look through old photos and videos on my phone and that usually brings a smile to my face.
How many weeks and size of baby?
32 weeks 4 days. At my ultrasound last Thursday they told he measures 5 pounds!!! O.O Up from 3 1/2 3 weeks earlier. If this keeps going until my due date I will have a 9 pound baby xD
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
feeling very good overall, only thing that sucks is that my back really hurts. It has become really difficult to sleep
Next milestone or appointment your looking forward to?
We have an appointment this week with the anesthesiologist and we will see then if I need an MRI to check for fibromas in my spine or brain, it would only mean to be more careful with an epidural if I do have any fibromas.
then just regular checkup the week after, and August 4th is our next ultrasound.
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day?
I eat something sweet or maybe salty that I am craving.
I cuddle up with my husband or my kitties.
I get comfy and read a good book, or watch one of my favorite movies I have not seen in a while.
I call one of my sisters to talk.
I take a nice long warm bath with bubbles.
I go take a nice walk outside.
@reesaXden I am sorry you are having a rough day(s)! Hope you feel better soon! It sounds like you are not having it easy at all and it sucks
@Jabreen You are not alone lol! Our nursery is not ready either, it is just an empty room right now... at least it is painted? But we still have time
We did go shopping for cribs this weekend and found one we like, so we will go back to purchase it. But we will have to find a dresser somewhere else, what is UP with the prices of dressers for babies o.O all the ones we saw were at least 600$.
PCOS, Hypothyroidism.
Miscarriage at 8 weeks
First saw
It's a boy!
32 + 2. Squashes.
How are you feeling? Mentally and physically?
Mentally, I'm doing pretty good, although I'm getting anxious about the possibility of going into pre-term labor. I have no reason to expect them to come any earlier than is normal for twins, but I'm still getting myself worked up and anxious about it anyway.
I think maybe it's because my SIL delivered all 4 of her kids early (she went into labor from 31 to 35ish weeks with all of them, although the earliest was born at 33 weeks) and we were looking at a picture of her oldest in the NICU when we were going through family photos on the 4th of July and she said "This is what your babies will look like in 2 weeks." I know she meant developmentally, but I can't help but think that they're going to be here next week and will be in the NICU like he was. It just stuck in my head.
Physically, I'm tired and sore. Baby A's digging into my left hip/lower abdomen and Baby B has his legs and part of his butt up inside my ribs and is slowly spreading them apart, which is getting pretty damn painful.
Next milestone or appointment you're looking forward to?
Checkup on 7/22. Last two week appointment before I start seeing my OB every week!
R/R/R?
My feet and legs are so ridiculously itchy all the damn time.
Questions?
Nope.
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day?
Talk to my husband. We've been together 16 years and he's the first place I turn when I'm scared or upset or angry. He doesn't always (or even usually) have the answers, but just talking to him makes me feel better.

How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally stressing out about how I'm going to juggle my 1 year old and a newborn knowing DH isn't always the most helpful and the fact that DS is a momma's boy and becoming very clingy. Physically the acid reflux/heartburn has been hitting hard recently, on top of not being able to breathe very well due to a constantly stuffy nose and the humidity.
Next milestone or appointment your looking forward to? Next appointment is a next Tuesday, starting every 2 week appointments now.
R/R/R? Being in the single digits as far as weeks until baby will be here is making me panic a little, so much to get ready still and I need to start mentally preparing myself.
Questions? What works well for you ladies for acid reflux? I take Tums usually, but they don't always work so well.
GTKY: What is something you do when you feel down? Something to help you get through the day? Go for a walk, it always calms me down. For some reason it just seems so much easier to think clearly and rationally when I go for a walk.
