Anyone heard of using Kinesiology during pregnancy

So...has anyone tried this (or heard of it?) I know that athletes rave about it but I haven't heard of anyone trying it during pregnancy.

  • My friend uses it and absolutely RAVES about it. I haven't tried it but maybe as this 3rd trimester goes on I will

  • My old chiropractor used it on me a few years ago. We have some of the tape and I'm debating having DH watch some YouTube videos and taping me up

  • Ah! I just ordered some tape, I'll keep you guys updated. I'm having constant pain on my left side and I'm hoping that it helps.
  • I used it on my hips last pregnancy and it definitely helped. My hips would almost burn at night in the joints but the tape made them stop. This time I haven't had that problem yet, but we also have a new mattress, so maybe that's helping.
  • Helped me with RLP early in second trimester and just the overall "heavy" feeling of my belly on days where I knew I'd be on my feet a lot. I'd definitely recommend!

I use it! I use it a lot at work so I'm familiar with application, etc. I tried it on myself for my SI pain last week and it helped a ton. I haven't used it yet for any belly/hip pain but it's possible that it could help, depending on where the pain is actually coming from.

I went to physio on Friday and she taped my back, but i didn't notice any difference. I always go into things skeptical so maybe I do the opposite of placebo lol. I need to read some actual peer reviewed empirical studies to believe something like that, which annoys me, but my educational background makes me skeptical!

  • My husband's PT taped his shoulder following shoulder surgery and it helped him. Can't see any harm in trying. I'm going to start seeing a chiro soon so I will definitely be asking about this.

  • Thanks ladies!
  • I have used the tape on and off for years so was so excited when I saw methods for relieving pregnancy aches and pains! Too bad my body has decided to react by breaking out in hives with all forms of adhesive this pregnancy! :( but it really was instant relief!
