@irishblessings916 GD is typically diagnosed around 28 weeks (I was diagnosed at 26 and change) just so it's caught early enough to have time to control it and have the best outcome for baby. That's probably why they say that but it is sometimes diagnosed later, depending on the circumstances.
For my GD diet, I have a carb limit like so:
Breakfast: 15-30 g of carbs Morning snack: 15-30 Lunch: 45-60 Afternoon snack: 15-30 Dinner: 45-60 Bedtime snack: 15-30
You'll learn more about what to eat and all that good stuff when you go to your appointment but this hopefully can help you count some carbs before then.
Guys-im am feeling a little blue today at the thought of having to be induced. I'm having a hard time letting go of the vision I had for my labor. I really want that "omg I'm in labor moment" I really want to share that with my fiance.
I don't even know what I'm looking for yall to say bit I just needed to vent for a moment.
@Megan324 I was really upset about that when I talked with the nurse initially. I asked my midwife this week about it and she said they probably wouldn't induce until 41 weeks and not to worry about it. My numbers have been really good and I'm sure my next ultrasound will play a big part in it but it made me feel better that there's some wiggle room.
@Megan324 I don't really have much more to add about being induced than I did earlier, but I want to restate that I hope your OB lets you go past 40 weeks, and that you don't have to be induced.
I don't know if this will help, but even though I wanted so badly to go into labor on my own, we had my induction set up for several weeks and all signs were pointing that I wouldn't go into labor before the induction. I had mentally prepared myself for how things would go leading up to labor with an induction. It took me several months after McKenna was born (with spontaneous labor) to reconcile that wasn't how it went. Not that it turned out badly, but in my mind I was still almost mentally preparing for the birth I didn't have. I guess with this, I'm trying to say that there is still time to re-envision the labor you imagined. And it's also too soon to completely let go of the idea that you won't go into labor spontaneously.
Mostly, I hope you feel better about it soon. What you're feeling is normal, and I know it sucks to feel that way.
@camichael84 everything you told me before has really helped. I know it's so early to tell what's going to happen, I think it came on because I am starting to pack my hospital bag (birthing class wants us to bring them in next week)
