R/R: Not looking forward to this baby shower on Sunday. I'm the most recent married and next in line to have kids. I'm sure I'll get a plethora of 'your next' or 'when are you going to start trying to have kids'. Plus no DH for moral support so I may be checking in Sunday to help me keep my sanity. Keeping the snark away will be difficult. Wish me luck ladies.
CS: None at the moment.
GTKY: You get to forever erase any one TV show/Movie/Book/graphic novel/comic series/song/etc. from the world forever (this also works retroactively) along with any associated cultural trends (sayings, fashions, etc.). What do you pick and why?: Keeping up with the Kardashians. I hate everything that has to do with the cultural concepts of the Kardashians. They are strictly a bunch of money grubbing plastics who make a fortune off of exploiting their extended family while carrying no talent of any kind. Not to mention the fact that there are women and girls that look up to this as a role model. I can think of few role models worse for a woman to base herself off of. I could bash them all day but it's not worth the effort.
R/R: DH just left for the weekend, and no signs of O. I hope we don't miss the window if it comes tomorrow or Sunday.

GTKY: Ooh! I love @nwegman7878's answer above! I'll piggyback on that one and say (can I say an entire genre?) the teenybopper singers/performers who don't turn out to be good role models. Kids really look up to these people, and not all of them set good examples. (The select few that are okay can stay!)

Therefore, it is the current rule of the board to TW for loss, but if this in any way makes someone feel like their loss is taboo, please take a moment to vote in the survey-monkey TW Poll so that your voice can be hear and the wishes of the community be heard. /end ETA
(*****TW*****) Someone shared on another thread about her recent loss and how she won't be around for a while and it just makes me so sad. That's three in a row, it seems like. Not that bad when it's not tackling a serious topic, but when it it's handling a serious social issue it's really frustrating to see image macros repeating the pre-lesson sentiments across the internet.
Hello everyone! I was out for awhile trying to figure some things out and am very happily back now. Officially diagnosed with PCOS last week by my doctor after not having seen AF since February (and other factors of course) so yeah.... AF FINALLY came around about 2 weeks ago. Even my shortest of cycles is about 37 days so I definitely don't think I have ovulated yet. Fingers crossed that for the next few months she stays around and we have chances to get KU'd Sorry for the long re-intro haha. Here goes:

GTKY: You get to forever erase any one TV show/Movie/Book/graphic novel/comic series/song/etc. from the world forever (this also works retroactively) along with any associated cultural trends (sayings, fashions, etc.). What do you pick and why?:
The Kardashians is such a good answer @nwegman7878
I'm going to say Twilight, because I feel that those books really lowered the standard of what good fiction is. The writing in those books is just plain terrible and so many people have been published since then that are just as bad or worse. I HATE picking up a book and just hating how poorly it's written. I used to want to be a writer as a kid so maybe I have high standards or something but it just really gets under my skin that these glorified fan fiction writers are getting a paycheck.
R/R: I think I O'd!!!!! bit of a temp rise today. I was so crampy and bloated yesterday and then my nipples got sore which typically happens to be most O. OMG I just hope that was it and the waiting is over!!
CS/Q: Sorry it is so big.
GTKY: You get to forever erase any one TV show/Movie/Book/graphic novel/comic series/song/etc. from the world forever (this also works retroactively) along with any associated cultural trends (sayings, fashions, etc.). What do you pick and why?: Basically all reality tv shows like the Real World, Jersey Shore, Bachelor/Bachelorette and so on. I just think it turned tv into pure trash. Which if you think about it is probably how we got the Kardashians and it seems like we are all in agreement there.
@BusinessWife I think I know exactly who you're talking about and I agree - it's just heartbreaking. I lurked for so long without posting that I feel like I know so many posters here that you can't help but feel like you know them and when tragedy happens, you hurt for them.
@KirstinH88 Your singing tradition is adorable and I hope to steal that if I have kids one day!
R/R: ...of course my period starts before I finish prometrium. Which is great of course, however I now have to wait another cycle to use clomid, cycle days 14-20 I will be out of town for the entire week due to work and hubs isn't going with me. Seriously?! The one week a year I have to go out of town. Siiiiigh.
CS/Q: I just (like 2 weeks ago) got a PCOS diagnosis, I've been browsing the boards but does anyone have a book/website/resource that really helped in the management of it? Other than no period my biggest symptoms are horrible acne and a 40 lb weight gain within 8 weeks of going off the pill.
GTKY: You get to forever erase any one TV show/Movie/Book/graphic novel/comic series/song/etc. from the world forever (this also works retroactively) along with any associated cultural trends (sayings, fashions, etc.). What do you pick and why?: 50 Shades of Gray because it's nothing special and BDSM was around before the author was even a twinkle in her parents eye. And since BDSM was not created by the book it doesn't get erased.
*edit to add* I ran away and hid for 4/5 months while dealing with depression. I was always a lurker & never posted much but I am trying to push myself to get "out there".

Also: Yesterday, I had spotting. It completely freaked me out. I have never had spotting before ovulation before. I immediately googled all the reasons I could have spotting before O and it could have been sex, or O, or alternately indicating something bad. Does anyone else spot when they O?

I would get rid of 50 Shades of Grey. I think this book glamorizes abusive situations and can give girls, especially younger girls, the "this is what everyone's doing so I have to do it to" impression of S&M. This probably could have been an unpopular opinion or FFFC...

The Kindle version wasn't working for me so I went into a used bookstore and decided that even though they probably wouldn't, I'd ask an employee if they had the newest edition after grabbing an old copy from the shelves. He looked it up and said "you know, we don't have it because we don't get many new books but I'm just going to give this one to you." I wanted to make sure and he said it was because it hasn't sold in nearly 3 years and they would've donated it at some point anyway. TTC score!

It would probably be the song "Blurred Lines." It was just horribly triggering for me as a sexual assault survivor and I hated how it was EVERYWHERE the summer it came out. I couldn't avoid shit like "I know you want it" which was exactly the language of my attacker.

@hartmich Books like
twilight are just awful – I have to agree.
@nwegman7878 I got the 'We'll be coming to your shower next time' at the last one I went to. It really is the worse. Good luck! You can do it.
@mokay19 I take pictures of my OPKs too to track the progression. I also keep them but the thing is they fade and look much different so you can't really see the progression that way until after you are done. FX they keep darkening.
@BusinessWife It's been really sad around our parts lately Also you're totally going to get crosshairs tomorrow for CD13. Yay for making it to the TWW!
@clover28 I had a weird cycle a few months ago where AF was not it's normal self. I had spotting then heavy bleeding for a day followed by more spotting and it was done. That heavy day though was heavier than normal. So that could have been your real CD1. I would probably still mark it as that if I were you.
@PepperAT Holiday and FW? That's going to be a good time
@themrs If you're OPK was + I wouldn't discard that. How long have you been using the CBAD?
@Heatho620 I'm glad AF finally came. I am sorry about your diagnosis but hopefully you and your Dr can work on a plan now for moving forward!
@KirstinH88 Happy birthday to your DS! That is an amazing tradition.
@canokr01 I am so sorry you are back. I am glad your DH is supportive. We will be here as a secondary support system for if/when you feel like you need us.
Month/Cycle: 6/4 (1/1 TTCAL)
CD: 4
WAYDTGKU: Nadda right now
R/R: I hate when AF is heavy. This is day 3 I've had to mark heavy in FF. My mind automatically goes to the 'What if something is wrong' place. My loss has definitely triggered my anxiety and my OCD a bit. I have had things mostly under control for the last couple of years. But now I am finding myself worrying over every little medical mystery I think of again, which is a bad sign. This has the ability to go south for me really quickly if I don't get it under control.
CS/Q: None. This is the boring part of the cycle.
GTKY: You get to forever erase any one TV show/Movie/Book/graphic novel/comic series/song/etc. from the world forever (this also works retroactively) along with any associated cultural trends (sayings, fashions, etc.). What do you pick and why?: I think allllll of reality TV should go. Worst trend. Don't get me wrong I watch it sometimes. But it's a black spot on our society.
WAYDTGKU: setting up cd 3 ovary check with RE. Will do letrozole, pregnyl trigger and probably progesterone supplement
R/R: cd 1 in my birthday . Imma go home and watch Netflix in my pjs. I might open a bottle of wine, it's afternoon so it's cool.

Old Yeller.
Eta: I really like the text being in a color instead of bold.... For some reason I didn't have to fix it on mobile like I do with the bolded text
@AliciaGoose I hope I'm not overstepping boundaries to tell you that I experienced the very same thing after my loss - a super heavy period which made my mind race and almost immediately go into bad-gunky-mode (anxiety, obsessing, etc). My doctor assured me my body was working to right itself again and there was nothing to worry about. I know everybody and every body is different but I wanted you to know you are not alone and I have definitely been there.

@MandyBeeSLP O-spotting is definitely a thing. I have never had it, but it's totally normal, as far as I know, and people get that often enough anyway, that I wouldn't think there's any cause for alarm. I would say see what happens, and if it continues, or if it turns out it's really NOT O and you're really just randomly bleeding intermittently in your cycle, then you might want to think about calling up and mentioning it to the doctor and see what they think. But at the same time, I see now that you did BD around that same time, so is it most likely that intercourse just caused a bit of irritation? I tend to err on the side of, "it's probably something totally benign and nothing to worry about," unless it becomes an ongoing problem - with whatever minor weird body things that may come up from time to time. Bodies are weird.
@slavenski So sorry about all your issues ATM! Thank goodness it's all just temporary and FX you're feeling 100% very soon! And Happy Birthday!!!! Did you do anything special?
@sevenn JUMP ON THAT MAN AND GET YOUR +1!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU!!! And even if you don't, -2,-1 is great. Don't feel like you have to do everything perfectly to get KU. You can do everything "perfectly" and STILL not get KU! lol Either way, you do what you can and the rest is out of our hands... ;)
@NamelessAria @Maggie1202 @ahrains Pics as per request! not sure if you will be able to see the perspective? So I will definitely have to try and get some better ones over the weekend. Ugh.. I tried to shrink them enough that they would all fit, but then the other pics got smooshed into links. Not sure if the legs give a little better idea of his size? The last one was taken 2 weeks ago on DH's lap, if that gives a better idea. He is so silly and he really does not fit on a person's lap anymore!
ETA @hezzer78 Oh that's so cool! What breeds does she deal with? He's a WGSD. :D My last bigguy was a Pyr, (but really I think he was maybe a Kuvasz or somthing because he looked like a Pyr but was mostly around 76-85lb max). The chart I was looking at said male GSD's are normally about 57 lbs at 6 months, so I'm like, if he's 77 lbs NOW, how big IS he going to get!?
@ahrains Thank you for that. You are not overstepping at all. It's helpful to hear stories from other people, even though I know they're anecdotal. I have always been a worrier, and since we started TTC one of my mild concerns has been about how heavy my period can be. That being said, usually it's only heavy for 2ish of the 5 days. And even then only for parts of those two days. This is just full on HEAVY all day for 3 days now. It really helps to know that I'm not the only one who has had this experience.
WAYDTGKU: Still waiting for AF so I can start the next anovulatory cycle.
R/R: Three people in my life have given birth in the last week. I told my friend this and he said "their happiness doesn't affect your own." That hurt. Of course, I'm happy for them. One was the sister of my best friend, one was my cousin, and the other was my husband's cousin. That doesn't mean I can't also feel pain and sadness for myself. I wasn't allowing it to consume me. Just need to voice it and move on. *sigh*
CS/Q: I haven't even been temping for the last week. I'll start again when my next cycle begins.
GTKY: I don't know, really. I live in a world of let people do what they like, I don't have to be a part of it. Although I wish I could erase the term "gamer chick" from the world. I am a gamer. Period.

CS/Q: This predictive O thing is just so bizarre. While my actual answer is the Kardashians, I'm going to pick South Park instead. It's one of those shows that usually has a great message and very often "gets it", howeverrrrr a lot of people just skip the lesson part and focus on the funny parts before the lesson. Not that bad when it's not tackling a serious topic, but when it it's handling a serious social issue it's really frustrating to see image macros repeating the pre-lesson sentiments across the internet.

Also: Yesterday, I had spotting. It completely freaked me out. I have never had spotting before ovulation before. I immediately googled all the reasons I could have spotting before O and it could have been sex, or O, or alternately indicating something bad. Does anyone else spot when they O?
GTKY: You get to forever erase any one TV show/Movie/Book/graphic novel/comic series/song/etc. from the world forever (this also works retroactively) along with any associated cultural trends (sayings, fashions, etc.). What do you pick and why?:
I would get rid of 50 Shades of Grey. I think this book glamorizes abusive situations and can give girls, especially younger girls, the "this is what everyone's doing so I have to do it to" impression of S&M. This probably could have been an unpopular opinion or FFFC...
Edited for grammar.

As for spotting around O: I don't normally have spotting but I did last cycle and I spotted the last 3 (4? I can't remember) days this cycle. Although this cycle I have no idea when I'll O so that spotting may not end up being near O.

R/R: I got a free copy of TCOYF yesterday! Granted, it's the 10th anniversary edition and not the newest one but I think that's good enough for free! TTC score!

R/R: Last day of whole30 OMG. So glad I did it – going to change some things moving forward diet and health wise. I didn’t lose much weight, but I feel a lot better and my shirts are definitely fitting better so there’s that. Temps are getting slightly higher (although I have been waking up 1 hour before temp time – WTF), so I THINK I may have O’d two days ago. We are going to HIO tonight, so if we do, our timing will be +2, O, -2 .. really hope the O was two days ago! I’m still feeling kind of crampy so maybe not. Still no surge caught on my OPK – will probably just spring for the wondfos – just in case.

I really like @nwegman7878’s idea of the Kardashians…and all reality TV tbh. (Although I did have a mild addiction to Jersey Shore). Bachelor/Bachelorette/Real Housewives – get rid of ‘em all.
@hartmich Books like twilight are just awful – I have to agree.

@mokay19 I take pictures of my OPKs too to track the progression. I also keep them but the thing is they fade and look much different so you can't really see the progression that way until after you are done. FX they keep darkening.
@BusinessWife It's been really sad around our parts lately

WAYDTGKU: Still waiting for AF so I can start the next anovulatory cycle.
R/R: Three people in my life have given birth in the last week. I told my friend this and he said "their happiness doesn't affect your own." That hurt. Of course, I'm happy for them. One was the sister of my best friend, one was my cousin, and the other was my husband's cousin. That doesn't mean I can't also feel pain and sadness for myself. I wasn't allowing it to consume me. Just need to voice it and move on. *sigh*
