Re: FFFC* Time! 7/8

  • In 2 days I've gone through a bag of salt & vinegar chips because they seem to help me not to feel so sick.

  • This might be flame worthy. My grandfather died last month after being in and out of hospice for literally years.I did not know him well at all and he was pretty abusive. In his last few years my mother made amends with him and he sent me Christmas cards. Anyway, I get 5 days of bereavement leave and I am taking it next week and staying home with my kids while my nephew visits.

I don't judge this at all.  Deaths can be upsetting even if you did not know the deceased well or they were not a good person.  We went through this with one of my grandmothers, and in some ways it was harder emotionally than mourning the grandmother I had a close relationship with.

    @peachesnbean that's completely understandable.

My fffc is that last night I sneeze peed for the first time. Not even a whole drop came out but still. DH and I laughed for a good 5 minutes. I was thouroughly embarrassed.
Girl, just you wait. After you have a baby, you might as well invest in depends lol!

That's what my sister keeps saying! But when it happened last night I was like.. It has begun. No it's too early for this!
  • I don't know how to gif.  I don't know how to @ someone.  I am feeling very old and old school on this board,  lol.  Back in my bump days, we didn't even have birth month boards.

Please don't kick me out.  I don't remember how to be pregnant, so this board is helping me a ton,  lol.

  • My flame free Friday confession is that I don't understand why it is called flame free when the past few weeks there has been flame and snark. I get that it is becoming the standard operating procedure but it doesn't make sense to me. I don't see it as a way to build a community - I see it as bonding between those who flame but it makes me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable even when the snark and flame hasn't been directed towards me (it might now...). Maybe this is more of an unpopular opinion and this is in the wrong thread.

  • @16isourluckynumber Point taken  :)  It's really out of character for me.  I usually only eat chips at birthday parties.

@Partyof6?  I don't know how to gif either, but the @ someone is super easy.  In the regular reply box you literally just type @ then the person's screen name.  The bump will pop up a little box as you type the screen name so that you can pick it out of the list instead of having to type all of it.

  • So long story short my dad passed away last October and we have been in some sort of probate hell.

My dads wife hired a probate attorney who has sent me bad information multiple times by mail and is totally unresponsive to phone messages and emails. I finally called and left a semi pissed threatening message this week and a random secretary called me to tell me the main attorney in the office had unexpectedly passed away over the weekend, so no one was working for the rest of the week.

Like im sorry he died, but I've been trying to get a hold of this chick for weeks and if my boss died my fucking office wouldn't close down. That's totally unreasonable.  Also I googled and the guy died in a jetski accident which is making my life like a weird movie.
  • I forgot my real FFFC.

I'm a little bit obsessed with U2.  I am a paying member of their fan club so I can purchase advance tickets to their shows, and I'm currently nervous that if their next album drops at the end of the year their next tour will correspond with tiny infant time.  Obsess over the mixes for a few more months, boys!  I don't find Bono annoying, and think all the humanitarian work he's done is awesome.  Yes he can be over the top, but I'm pretty sure he's fully aware of that as well.  At the last show I went to in Boston we were close enough the stage that water from his water bottle landed on me and it was awesome.
  • @PerraSucia  - that is like a weird movie! I'm sorry you're going through that, but maybe one day it'll make an interesting story? Keep us updated in the meanwhile!

  • I threw up in my car in the work parking lot. My work week is complete.  :|

I am now sitting at home with my work laptop next to me, digesting French fries and watching Burn Notice. That is the extent of the work I intend to do today.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @GlitterDragon  I had like 1/3 of a box of Famous Amos cookies...not a super proud moment...but so delicious!

  • So, my coworker beside me totally called me out yesterday. He said "you're pregnant." I said "Oh right, I'm pregnant, I'm drunk right now, shut up." It's the running joke that I'm drunk at work all the time (I'm not). Now I feel bad that I lied, but I guess I technically didn't (about the pregnancy, I did lie about the drinking, but that's to be expected).

Oh just you wait. There has not been flames here. There have been slight sparks that one might have to blow on to get a flame started in order to survive a night in the Amazon on Naked & Afraid, but there have been no real flames.
Hahaha... Ohhhh I can't wait for the full on flames

  • It was so nice out Wednesday that after my 1st appointment DH and I just went home instead of back to work. He logged into work from home but I sat in the sun on our deck reading through the giant packet the nurse gave me. Not sorry at all, it helped me relax a bit.

The girls I work with want me to be pregnant so bad and because of that I want to wait as long as I can to tell them.
  • My boss is constantly trying to talk me out of having kids. Should be interesting to see how he reacts when I tell him I'm pregnant.

  • @Xstatic3333 I'm not personally a big U2 fan, just don't really follow their music I guess but your enthusiasm for them is absolutely adorable lol
Everytime someone talks about major flaming and how no one has done it yet on this board makes me nervous...
@joyful08 while pregnant with my first my sister was visiting my house and as she was taking forever to leave I had to pee super bad. Since she was "leaving" I was trying to hold it but as I walked to the door to watch her leave the sun shined in my eyes and I sneezed and peed. A lot. Thank goodness husband was at work but it was a mess and I'm terrified of sneezing now lol.
My current FFFC is that I wore comfy stretchy Capris with my sport bra and a t-shirt to bed then wore it the whole next day. It was awesome not getting changed.

  • I felt so bad for them about that, @BumpasaurusRex. That album is really good, and because of that misstep (which I think is really more on Apple, who paid for album as a promotion) it never really got a fair shake. I mean, they're fine, not losing sleep about it, but it's too bad it went down that way. Somebody should have realized it wasn't the best idea.
  • @WinchesterGirl That happened to me the last time I was pregnant so I started carrying gallon size ziplock bags in my purse!

  • I hate ketchup chips and think poutine is disgusting. I'm the worst Canadian ever.

  • Our video monitor broke a few days ago, and I am kind of loving it. I can't tell when my DD is waking up in the morning/naps, so until I can tell she is awake I am just leaving her in her crib. I am pretty sure she is just happily and quietly playing with her pacis for about an hour after she wakes up....but that means I get to sleep in more and take longer naps. Win win.

    YES YOU ARE.
  • When I was on The Knot back in the day, it was Flame FREELY Fridays. Just sayin'. It wasn't always "Flame-Free."

I always just thought the "flame free" was sarcastic.
  • After feeling pretty crummy the first half of the day, I just had a vanilla cupcake and am now trying to figure out how to discreetly have another.....  It tasted so good and I've been having a hard time with sweets!

Have you tried authentic poutine or any well made poutine? It can make a huge difference. I can't understand not liking well made poutine.
