Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread (07/04)

  • @Babymakes5! I feel you there. I had to start on the unisom/vitamin b6 combo at 6 weeks and now that I'm at 8 I'm still throwing up at least twice a day. But that is much much better than 2-3 times an hour. I've been told that I'm not actually dying, but between the constant nausea and horribly painful boobs, I'm still not sure they're telling me the truth...

  • Sooooo gassy and bloated... like so uncomfortable, it feels like my stomach is distended! Random stretchy pinchy pains everywhere...the only one I can pinpoint that keeps coming back is just a few inches to the right of my belly button...Did I mention gassy? Haha! I am having regular BMs and they look good so I don't think I'm constipated. ..just irritated bowels I think!
  • I haven't had a decent poop in like, 3 weeks.
Oh my god. This. Tmi but seriously, tmi is what the bump is for. Seriously had the most satisfying bathroom experience this weekend after the constipation gods finally let up!!

*cough* In other news, has anyone experienced a sore throat as a symptom? It's not every day but certain days I can barely swallow. Google says it could be acid reflux, but still seems odd...
  • Anyone dizzy?  Like, have to stop walking and grab a wall dizzy?  It started yesterday morning and even happened when I woke up on the middle of the night.  I didn't even sit up, just opened my eyes and the room was spinning.  DH made me call the Dr. this morning to make sure it was nothing to be worried about...but gosh its nuts.  And if I'm not actively dizzy I feel like a bobble head.  If I turn my head it is like it takes a few seconds for my vision to catch up.  Someone tell me I'm normal  :|

Dizziness can be a sign of anemia. Has your OB done any initial bloodwork? I always have to take extra iron during pregnancy. It helps a lot with the exhaustion and the dizziness.

I've been beyond exhausted pretty much every day, but all of a sudden yesterday I felt peppy and fine. Today I feel the same. You'd think I'd be stoked to not be falling asleep at my desk but it just makes me nervous that something is wrong. Exhaustion was my only real ongoing symptom other than sore boobs and some dizziness... It's not like I want MS or anything but I would appreciate some confirmation that everything is going smoothly in there!
  • I'm so tired all of the time, I'm bloated, I have to snack every hour or I get nauseous...but it must be small snacks, because I get full instantly. It's not a fun game my body is playing. Also 80% of the food in my kitchen makes me gag....I'm basically living off of applesauce, cottage cheese, grapes, nutrigrain bars, and crackers :/ I'm going to buy some baby carrots and hummus tomorrow, hopefully I can add that to my list of snacks.

  • @krob I think we may just be the same person! MS was nowhere in sight for 8 weeks and now, WHAM! I'm so sick, miserable and exhausted all the time. All I want to do is spend the remainder of my summer break working out and being productive before school starts back, but I can't stay vertical long enough to accomplish anything.

    Oh, and constipation.
  • I am so tired. I feel like I could sleep for 12 hrs and still be tired. I am starting to get to the point where I am full almost immediately, but then want to eat like an hour later. I am trying to not let my coworkers find out and this is not helping.  I am also getting waves of nausea all throughout the day. I did not have even a touch of nausea with my first so I am not handling this very well. Anyone have any suggestions to help?
  • I'm 7+3 and still just sore boobs and lack of desire to eat my usual low carb and salads    All I want is carbs, fats and sweets!Only mild nausea once in awhile and my cramping has pretty much stopped which I hope is normal.   Grumpy yeah that's a big one     First US next week! Nervous and excited!
  • @HeatSparks I had migraines with my last pregnancy in 2nd tri. I had cut out caffeine, and my ob suggested adding it back in at the 200mg max suggested. It definitely helped. Not sure if you had cut caffeine.
  • I've been feeling pretty good on the Diclectin so I started to eliminate doses, that was a mistake... Also I'm feeling like a teenager with the greasy hair and breakouts.

  • I'm absolutely famished. I've been take-it-or-leave-it about food for the past couple of weeks, but last night and today I'm just starving.
  • SWEAT!! I've been super sweaty. It's gross. It has been up near 90 most days but still I've never been as sweaty as I have been the last few weeks. I wake up sweaty with the air on 70 it's ridiculous. Sweat is forming in places I've never had sweat before. Nasty stuff.

@migdala I just started to get my appetite back on Saturday and I was so excited!! I don't like being Hungry but it's easier to eat than to feel sick all day long!!

  • So today is shaping up to be a mental battle between taking some sick time and going home and sucking it up to save my sick hours.  I know I should be hoarding them for my maternity leave, but yesterday and today have been the worst nausea I've experienced this pregnancy, I have over 100 hours banked, and I just want to be one with my couch.

Unfortunately staying and doing nothing isn't a great option at my job since every hour I work is billed to a grant.  I even dock myself a little time for my TB breaks or I feel really bad.
  • I woke up today and suddenly my previously super sore breast are not sore anymore.  I also feel much less bloated than I was.  I know symptoms can fluctuate, so trying to stay positive and not over-analyze.

  • Yesterday I had nausea all day and some gagging episodes that led to puking up my meds at bedtime for the first time.   I hate to say it, but that is such a classic sign of my healthy full term pregnancies that I was actually relieved.

  • I'm in a similar boat. I'm 7.5 weeks and feel so great I'm super worried. I don't feel pregnant anymore but my boobs are still a bit sore.  Anyone else?  US on Tuesday so we'll see.
  • @laurenmichael725 @CornchipLA. FWIW that's completely normal. My symptoms are starting to chill out and I'm actually really excited about it.  I'm looking forward to cooking again and getting some energy back.
  • So over the Nausea! I broke down and asked the nurse for meds. I swear water is making the nausea worse :/
mand my boobs are killing me! It really doesn't help that my toddler is always trying to snuggle against them

I actually thought my symptoms were gone for good at 9 weeks on Monday after three great days, and then yesterday they returned with the vengeance of a 1000 suns.  I think the bottom line is that pregnancy is weird and things come and go.  I know it's impossible not to worry, but there is every likelihood that all is well in there.

So much this. I have thrown up every single night for 3 days when I thought I was in the clear..

On a happier note, my home fetal doppler picked up the baby's heartbeat for the first time today! About 160 HB at 10w2d and tilted uterus! I am ecstatic!
How cool! I'm trying to resist getting a Doppler but it's getting increasingly tempting.

It takes a lot of patience and not freaking out but once it's farther along and easier to find the HB, it helped me tremendously.
  • I'm like my toddler. I need my afternoon nap or I become absolutely miserable. I was relatively okay last week but now I simply can't function if I don't even get a power nap.
  • Finally got the prescription for Diclegis. My nausea was somewhat manageable until last night. Today I threw up 5 times before noon... So my midwife called it in for me. I'm hoping for some relief- the house is a disaster (which doesn't help my nausea), and my poor toddler has watched more movies in the last week than he has in his entire life.

  • I haven't I haven't had a super hard time with the early pregnancy stuff - morning sickness has been minimal and no real good aversions besides greasy foods - but in general I just feel tired and kind of "Ick." The past couple of weeks though, all my sick feelings seems to come at night. Anyone else have morning sickness that hits at night instead? With an EDD of 2/1 I'm hoping that when I hit the second tri here in a couple of weeks some of this "Ick" will go away.
  • Exhaustion is now coming and going rather than me fighting to stay awake all day. I have found that anytime I taste something that has fake sugar in it, I want to vomit (new this time around). Boobs have stayed consistently sore.

Stuck in the box but my first reply was eaten.

My nausea is always worse at night.   I might be woozy and lightheaded during the day,  but if I am going to be sick,  it's almost always at bedtime.   This is baby number 4, hopefully,  and it has been like this every pregnancy.

  • I think my DH has started having sympathy symptoms. Lol
He's suddenly wanting to get things done around the house, a little extra tired, and his stomach has been a bit "wonky" - I keep telling him that he's just as pregnant as I am (though less crabby, lol).
  • I am feeling better today and yesterday than I had, so now of course I am freaked out.  My next ultrasound is Friday, it's going to be a long week.  Keep growing baby!

  • I spent 6 hours last night in the ER because I couldn't hold food down all day. They gave me three IVs and two IV doses of zofran. Today I am not throwing up, but I'm still so nauseous I can't get off the couch. I just want this to end!!

is anyone taking diclegis, reglan, and zofran? The ER doc said I can do all three but it seems like a lot...

  • I'm pregnant with triplets and I experience stomach cramps all the time but only found out at 7 weeks and I'm going to see an ob/gynecologist next week to see what's really what. I do have an ultrasound and my 3 are doing great, but I'm in constant pain and it never seems to stop. Any help is appreciated to relieve  the pain.
  • Ok- after reading a few other posts i'm lucky.... i'm just nauseous and exhausted!!!!  (but luckily not physically sick)- so sorry for all y'all that are really sick and not able to keep food down :(  just found out today that we have identical twins. One is notably smaller than the other so we are going to remain "cautiously optimistic"- next US is in two weeks... hope everyone feels better soon and keeps hydrated this summer!!!
