I think that would be way too matchy along with being spelled wrong. Jason doesn't have the same ending as Steven, so why does Gwendolyn have to match Kathrynne? I think Gwendolyn is fine.
I had my daughter when I was 16 and I thought it was cute. I'd want them to match.
Having a child at a young age doesn't mean you should intentionally misspell a name now. Gwendolyn is a great name, and will still have the same end sound as Kathrynne if you really feel the need to "match."
Jason is also a great name and will pair well with your sibset.
I want them to match. I don't think its bad, it's just a different way to spell it. I was just asking if they go together good.
Personally, I don't see the point in having "matching" names if it's not consistent. I don’t understand why Gwendolynne is an option but Jasonne isn't.
But Jason is the proper spelling and Gwendolynne is NOT. For your logic to make sense you'd have to spell Jason with an e so it matches Steven. Please don't do that! Or maybe Jasynne and Stevynne - see how ridiculous that is?? If you really want them to match, go down to the courthouse and correct the spelling of your daughters name - Katheryn and Gwendolyn would match.
I think it's more relevant that the style of the name itself match, not the style of spelling. Granted, you can do what you want, but I'm sure you've ran into situations where the different spelling of your daughters name has been a hassle, so I'm just unsure why you would purposely do that again just for matching sake.
You're going to do what you want regardless of what we internet strangers say, so whatever. But purposely misspelling a name isn't cute. It just comes across as uneducated and ludicrous.
There's a difference between all the names being "coordinated" and "matching." Coordinated names all have a similar flavor or feel, and they go well together, but don't necessarily "match." A lot of people strive to coordinate their children's names in this way.
It's sort of similar to the way you coordinate clothing in an outfit without outright matching. If you're wearing a top that's navy blue, teal, and white plaid, you might coordinate your outfit by wearing navy blue pants and teal jewelry, right? But you wouldn't wear that top with matching plaid pants. You also wouldn't attempt to "match" the plaid top with another plaid. That would be REALLY bizarre.
That's basically what you're doing with your girl names. Kathrynne and Gwendolynne together are actually TOO matchy. It's the naming equivalent of wearing one plaid on top and another plaid on the bottom. It also calls attention to the misspelling of both names in an obvious and awkward way.
Kathrynne, Steven, and Gwendolyn coordinate pretty well: they're all traditional names with more than one syllable, and they subtly end in the "n" sound. The coordination even draws attention away from the creative spelling you used on your oldest daughter's name when you were 16.
Please think about this whole "matching vs. coordination" thing before you make your final decision.

Gwendolynne kind of hurts my head.
Why do you want your kids to have matching misspelled names? You're older and wiser now.

No, in all seriousness. Why change the spelling of a name for a girl to match but not a son? It's not logical.
You can obviously do whatever you want, but I feel it doesn't really make much sense.
TTC since September 2012
Its not only a different way to spell it but incorrectly spelled. It makes you look uneducated.
