How are you feeling? Great!

How many children do you have/ages? 1 son, who is 1.5 years old

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week? 3 days out of 4 last week Emmett bit kids at daycare. Nothing that broke the skin, but they stole his toys and he'd say "Mine! mine!" and if they didn't give it back, he bit them. Next week they are transitioning him to the toddler room to be with kids older than him but more on his line of development/language. I'm excited and extremely nervous for the transition (Biggest fear is that they nap at noon, E goes down between 10-11 most day). Fingers crossed this will be a good move for him even though he's 7 months younger than the youngest kiddo over there!

GTKY: How many kids do you want? (I know this is typically a "no-no" question in real life, but I feel like the bump is a place you can ask this? Yeah? Oh sure, although I don't know if I have an answer. We have no magical number, just hoping for a sense of completion. I am leaning towards these 2 being enough for us, but wouldn't rule out a 3rd. I don't want the decision to be financial - but we really enjoy traveling and are looking to a buy a camp in the next few years.. I'm not sure that's feasible with more than 2 children.

How are you feeling? I've been lucky so far in that I've felt pretty good. But I'm definitely reached the uncomfortable, I get out of breath while sitting stage.

How many children do you have/ages? My daughter is three.

GTKY: How many kids do you want? (I know this is typically a "no-no" question in real life, but I feel like the bump is a place you can ask this? Yeah? My husband and I have always agreed on two. We're too scared of having the children outnumber the parents. So we'll be done after this one.

28 weeks today!

How are you feeling?
Really good! Strep is better, still sleeping really well (so sorry to everyone that isn't, insomnia sucks!) and DD is doing pretty well too!

How many children do you have/ages?
1 DD, 21.5 months

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week?
She's just so damn cute. I woke her up this morning to get ready for daycare and I said, "heeeeey bug, it's time to get up!!" And she rolled over and said, "no." Bahaha so much attitude in the sweetest voice. She's been doing really well with controlling her frustration too. She's handing me her plate when she's done eating instead of throwing it, and she's doing really well with not biting.

I really, really want to get rid of the pacifier. She only had it at night and naps, but it makes her pass TF out and I don't know how I'm going to get her to sleep, and back to sleep, without it.

We are done after this baby girl is born. H will get a vasectomy about 6 months after she's born. I'm so, so excited about having 2 little girls, and it feels so right and complete, but it is really weird to know that I will never have a son. Used to it was always a possibility and we had no idea what we would have. And now, we won't have a son. The finality of it is strange.

@MrsVoorhees - my 18 month old son uses a blanket instead of a pacifier, and definitely needs it to pass out (and sleeps like a CHAMP with it.. might cry out once in the night, and I see him crawl around his crib until he finds a blankie to chew on, and passes right back out until morning). We are still letting him use it a bit during the day - especially with his recent biting, it's a better option to bite his blanket than a friend - HA!
Pretty soon we'll be working on getting it to just naps/bedtime, and beyond that? I just don't know, perhaps he'll chew a blanket to fall asleep while he's in college. Sleep is so golden.

@MrsVoorhees We still do a paci. It's a savior when she's sleeping. We've been working on weaning it away from her during the day. Some days she does great, some days it's out a lot. I'm fine with her taking it for another year (want her done with it by 3), but really kind of hoping DD2 doesn't take one.

How are you feeling? Good during the day. My hips at night are killing me.

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week? This is equal rant and rave, I guess. We went to a parade, festival, and fireworks for the 4th. Normally, she would remain content in the stroller for most the festival and be fine being held for the parade. Nope, she is demanding her freedom to walk and to stand or sit by herself. She never attempted to run off, but she's still so little it makes me nervous for her to be down with that many people around. Maybe this is more my issue than hers, though. I don't want to hold her back, but I also want to keep her safe.

I am fairly certain we are done after this one, but I hate ruling out a 3rd quite yet. It would be 3-5 years down the road if we do. Like @MrsVoorhees I'm so excited to have my two girls, but the idea of never having a son is odd. (Not that I think a 3rd means I will necessarily have a son.)

@camichael84 - we actually skipped the parade because my son is not content in his stroller (when not walking)/being held. He's super independent and brave, and I love him for it - but he would have been in the middle of the parade, no doubt. It's a tough age to allow a bit of independence, my son also thinks that if I chase him it's a game and he should run faster screaming in giggles. It's adorable, but scary and exhausting.

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week? She's having a hard time these days. We are trying to prep her and she gets it but it's hard she hasn't had to share much the last 4 years.

We had to use some secondary fertility with this one and I'm not sure I'm willing to go through that again. It was stressful so we will see what happens.

How are you feeling? Eh. The past month especially has just been really rough. I'm back to not sleeping well at night too which makes the days super long.

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week? Elleanore has been driving me crazy with her attitude. I'm scared of what the teenager years could bring. So I sat down and had a long talk with her about how disrespectful she's been. The following words may or may not have escaped my lips - "If I catch you rolling your eyes again, I'm going to smack them right out of your head." That's how far done I am with the attitude. I think one thing that hit her though was saying that she is going to have to drop the attitude because she has to be a role model for her little brother and sister and she doesn't want to teach them to be disrespectful. I saw the light bulb then!

@MrsVoorhees - The kids had blankets that the sucked on at bed time, nap time and just in general when they needed calming. The doctor never seemed concerned so I didn't take it away from them. Honestly though, they stopped using them on their own. They were about 4 1/2 but they just grew out of it.

I'm thinking I should be less concerned about the paci than I am. It's just annoying because people keep asking, "when are you going to take that away?" But she loves it. And it calms her down when she's grumpy and it helps her (and us) sleep, so mind your own business. I will just start replying, "when she's 20. We will encourage its use until then."

How are you feeling? Good for the most part. I'm pretty sore at the end of the day though.

How many children do you have/ages? 2- DS is 5 and DD turns 3 in August

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week? 3 is ROUGH. Terrible twos were a breeze. DD turns 3 in about 5 weeks and in the last month she's turned into a little monster. I want my sweet girl back.

I don't know for sure if we will be done after this baby (#3) so we are leaving it open for now and waiting to see what life is like before we decide to add a final 4th or not. I know it would be a lot easier all around, especially financially, to be done after this one but I just can't quite wrap my head and heart around the idea of being done.

@MrsVoorhees DD still has her pacifier for nap time and bedtime and she will be 3 next month. DS had his for sleeping until he was almost 4. I tried to take it away from him multiple times between 2 and 3 and it was hell, so I said forget it and waited until he was a little bit older and could be reasoned with and understood why it was going away. I'll do the same with DD. The "binky fairy" came and took it away for the smaller children who needed it and left him a big boy surprise in return. It went pretty smoothly, so I'm not even worrying about taking it from DD right now, especially with a newborn on my hands in 9 weeks. Sleep always wins.

Also @MrsVoorhees - we're not considering taking away things like blankies, etc when they're coming right back into the house in a couple months. Seems like a really difficult time to go through that transition then allow baby to have them (extra cause for jealousy).
I hate when people ask questions like that... as if it's any of their business. Some replies I would try is "As soon as we go on vacation and she stays over at your house for the week. Good luck!" or "The pediatrician/dentist isn't concerned about it, so neither are we"

@UnwritteN12 - Daycare mentioned that a little guy in the preschool room (guessing 4 years old?) still sucks on a blanket when he needs comfort and I thought - hey, at least mine wouldn't be the first. No idea if the blanket will be gone tomorrow (ok.. definitely not) or in a couple of years, but we're just riding it out. Gotta pick my battles and what to be worried about, blanket sucking is not currently on that list as long as he doesn't use it all day (I don't want it to delay speech if it's always in his mouth... but he's a wild chatterbox right now)

Any rants/raves about the older sibling(s) this week? DS1 has been overly sensitive and grouchy lately. He has a full on melt down over the littlest things and constantly has something to say when DH and I tell him to do something. It came to the point of me sitting down with him and explaining that his behavior can't continue because he is the oldest and I need him to be my helper instead of a pain. He seemed to understand and this week has been better.

Questions? When are you all planning on washing baby items?? I may have gotten a little excited over the weekend and washed her bedding and blankets but I have decided to wait until next month to do her clothes. Just curious if anyone else has washed anything yet??

I think we are done at 3 but who knows if I get a wild hair up my butt and decide to want another. DH wanted to get snipped after this one but I told him no, that I would get another IUD in case we changed our mind later on.

@CRich15 - Six is rough. I swear they think they know everything at this age. Or at least mine think they do! Glad this week has been better with your little man though!

As far as washing, I haven't washed a thing yet. I'm anxious to get it done because I know I could go earlier than I'm planning but we haven't even moved DD over to DS's room yet so we don't have a place to put the baby stuff. End of July is DH's D-Day for getting the rooms moved around and the nursery set up so I figure, while he's doing that, I'll be doing baby laundry. Yay!

@CRich15 I'm waiting until August to do the actual washing. I know it'll take several days to a week to get it all, so I want to give myself time, but I'm not jumping the gun on extra laundry yet.

@CRich15 - Trying to leave myself a few things to do as time gets closer. I have not yet washed things yet, but have some of it on my list for this weekend - at least do up the last round and new NB/0-3 month and get most of it into drawers.

this week I'm starting to feel tired again. And nauseous if I don't eat enough, and my feet hurt by the end of the day. Not terrible. Definitely feeling it though.

they are both so clingy. Especially in the mornings. And the one year old has figured out how to climb onto the kitchen table and island. This is going to be tricky adding another into the mix. It's getting to the point now that I can pretty much picture what the boys will be like. They aren't going to change too much in the next 2-3 months.
Questions?
I'm trying to decide if we should move the boys in the same room before or after the baby comes. The new baby can sleep in a bassinet for a little if we wanted. Simon will stay in a crib but move to Sebastian's room. Sebastian will stay in his same room but move to a big boy bed. Any suggestions?

How are you feeling? pretty good generally, it's been pretty hot here lately so being out side for long periods of time can get uncomfortable.
