  • Good luck @arhodes6!!
  • Was up from 3-5:30 this morning timing contractions. They got as
close at 6 minutes apart for 40 minutes but then started to space out. I was able to go back to sleep, waking up a couple times to a strong contraction and then going back to sleep. I'm back to timing and they're about 10 minutes apart. The contractions do not feel pleasant! It's a wait and see if this will turn into the real deal or not.
  • Thanks @Racso12 I hope your contractions turn in to something!
  • I had contractions all night. Some were pretty darn painful.. But inconsistent. Some were back to back and lasted a minute and a half and then others were ten minutes a part and lasted 30 seconds. All night. I'm so frustrated.
  • 38+1 and I'm an emotional wreck. I don't remember feeling this way with my last two, but I'm all over the place. Crying and getting upset at my husband and then feeling extremely excited and happy. I have been pretty reasonable this whole pregnancy and now my hormones are getting the best of me. Wondering if this is normal or if it's just me?
  •  I was having consistent pains last night that I was pretty sure were contractions. They came and went all day yesterday and around midnight became steady and more painful. Then added in the dull period like back ache. I really thought something exciting was going down. Dozed off somehow while watching breaking bad around 2 and when I woke up they were gone. Did have mild diarrhea and not a huge appetite this morning. DH has been extra attentive. Every ow I utter - even if I stump my toe - he comes and asks if I'm okay. We will see if anything comes on today

@samantha1206 I've been experiencing the same thing for days now. It's getting frustrating!!
  • I've also been experiencing some back pain, cramping  and diarrhea today. My appetite hasn't been too bad. Hoping something will happen sooner rather than later.

Same with the back pain and diarrhoea! My back pain has been a dull ache since last night but it got to the stage where it was so uncomfortable it was waking me up, I even had to take two painkillers. Which I never have to do. And I think my body is pushing as many toxins as possible with the poop TMI but oh well :)

  • I love how when I'm taking a shower I feel human again and my symptoms dissappear but then I get out and my body is like "oh hey, in case you forgot ... your 40 weeks pregnant" and they all return  :'( hurry up baby!!!!!
  • On Friday night I thought it was the real deal....lots of contractions and it was getting pretty intense, then fizzles out Saturday morning. This morning I lost my mucus plug though...so yay! Hopefully the next bout of labor pains will be the real thing. Doc mentioned once I get to 5 cm dilated and not really in active labor they will want to induce...anyone else's doc say that? Since I was already at almost 3 cm last Thursday I'm wondering how far along it will be by this Thursday. I was hoping for a med-free birth but I'm so fucking over this.
  • @rnyland1 Sounds like good progress! My midwife had not mentioned anything like that to me, although I will be 38w 6d at my appointment this week and just having my first cervix check. I would hope if you are dilated that much things will move along on their own...good luck to you!
  • And cue the nauseous feeling accompanied by diarrhea. Cramping too
  • @rnyland1 I am due tomorrow and no one has mentioned induction to me yet at ALL. My last appointment was Wednesday at 39+2, but I was only 1.5cm. I have another this Thursday if I make it that far! I definitely do not feel like labor is eminent.

FX for you that the next round of contractions is the real deal and you get your baby soon!
  • Woke up at 4 in the morning with the worst heartburn/acid reflux ever. I have completely avoided getting any heartburn this entire pregnancy and then it had to rear it's ugly head last night and it was bad. I also felt like I was sick and going to vomit or come out the other end and had stomach pains going on. Not a fun night. 38+2 hoping this just means my body is getting ready.
  • Possible first contraction (beside BH) this morning. Bad cramp that lasted maybe 30 seconds and that's all. Nothing near worth timing but hopefully this means some progress! Last Monday I was 50% effaced and not dilated yet which I'm told effacing first for a FTM is expected. But I'm hoping at my appointment this week (Wednesday) I have some dilation. I'm 37+3 today.

This appetite change has me drove crazy, one day I can't get enough of food, the next even a half portion defeats me. I even left dinner two hours later today because the thought of food had me gagging!

  • Contractions all morning that I was timing. They started out at about 5 mins apart then went up from there. I haven't had one in an hour or so but still some mild period like cramping. Definitely just lost my mucous plug though. My due date is Friday so I'm just glad something is happening. Still pooping pebbles.
  • @LF93 feeling exactly the same. We went to the mall a bit ago with DD and we got her nuggets & fries (chick fil a) and I wanted to have some so badly and felt starving, but I resisted, thinking I will have something healthy at home. Now I feel nauseous and don't want to eat at all. I had breakfast this morning but still no desire for lunch. This has happened a lot the last few days.

  • It really reassures me that I'm not the only one in the vomiting and diarrhea boat. Hopefully it is a sign that my body is starting to get ready soon and not something I have to live with for much longer.
  • I got kind of excited Saturday morning when I immediately puked after eating cereal (I haven't puked in about 3 weeks)...I'm thinking, ok this is a sign. Here it is Monday evening and I'm still pregnant.
  • throwing out a really random symptom that isn't aches/pains/vomit/diarrhea... excessive ear wax. Not sure if it is really pregnancy related but I am chalking everything up to pregnancy at this point.

I've actually had the same this for this whole week! Weird!

I third this. It's been the strangest thing. I feel like I can't get enough of my qtips (I know - even though you're not supposed to use them)

  • This back pain is no joke. I was laying on the floor last night trying to stretch and had to have dh help me up because I seriously could not move because my back hurt so bad.

Yup. Here too. Weird, and I hadn't given it much thought til now!
  • I feel like if I squat down too much my water will just pop. So much pressure.

  • I feel like I've had no progression of labor symptoms & that is mildly discouraging. My lower back is tight/sore so I waddle (nothing new), I have had cramps higher up my back about mid-rib but it's not consistent or timeable. I'm starting to get paranoid I'm missing symptoms or something and will end up home-birthing this baby!

Just found out I'm 2.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Measuring at 40 weeks, but they say I'm 37 weeks. Something isn't adding up! Things are getting too real right now.

@kgrgreen I've definitely had the same thought! My mom said she never had any early warning signs with any of us.. Just all of a sudden it was time to go!
  • I had DD at the grocery store today when suddenly my vision was so blurry I couldn't see anything....very scary. I called DH to come home from work and he took me to see my midwife. BP was fine, as was my urine sample, she confirmed it was a migraine. I've had migraines since I was 17 but they are usually associated with my cycle, and this is the first one I've had during this pregnancy. It was overall a scary experience, because I've gotten double vision with migraines before, but never so bad that I just really can't see anything. Also, going back to see my midwife on Friday for a cervix check and to schedule my induction!
  • @MDmomma1217 Scary, glad you are OK. I have had one migraine like that before but wasn't pregnant. Completely blurred vision and couldn't drive for a while. Had you eaten recently? That was an aggravating factor for me that time, I had skipped breakfast.

I had my first migraine ever during this pregnancy and it was so scary! Luckily SO knew what it was and was able to calm me down - I thought it was an aneurysm and I was dying!
  • @MDmomma1217 Migraines are wicked scary. I have taken care of many people admitted to rule out strokes, who have ended up having migraines. Glad it didn't end up being more serious and that DH was available to help you! Maybe this means your hormone levels are changing and baby is getting ready to arrive?

  • I'm currently playing the fart, poop or contraction game.  I'll just sit on the toilet to avoid a repeat of last week's disaster lol

  • @mandyjulie Yes, I had eaten. I've gotten migraines since I was 17, 90% of the time they are triggered by my menstrual cycle, and I've had blurry/double vision before, but nothing as bad as today. This is also the first migraine I've had while pregnant, so I was scared it was something else. Taking the Excedrin Tension Headache as my midwife suggested and falling asleep this afternoon really helped. She also suggested reading the book "Heal Your Headache 123" which I'm definitely going to look in to!

@sboston06 I did have to Google if migraines were a sign of impending labor....LO has been sitting super (uncomfortably) low in my pelvis this evening, so hoping things are moving along! I can't comfortably sit down, I have to either sit/lay on my side, or I've been on all fours on my yoga mat.
  • @MDmomma1217 I've had migraines with mostly visual symptoms after delivering about once a week  - I hope you don't get them too often in the future, but I just thought I'd share just in case you also get them in the PP period... Before being pregnant I got them fairly often but they were "regular" migraines (with headache, no visual symptoms actually). So this was quite different and scary. Lots of water, some gatorade, lying down, and OTCs do seem to help.
