Re: Monday Bitchfest -4th of July edition

  • I dunno if this is a bitchfest or whinefest but I'm ready and it's only about 4am here...people's loud ass parties tonight kept me up pretty late, now I woke up to pee and can't get back to sleep. I'm a combination of sad thinking DH and I will never get to have a social life like we used to, and irritated that they were so loud I could hear people and music through the window a/c

  • Why am I awake at 4 am??? Especially since July 4 is always an entire day of the in laws. Not the day I need to be tired from not sleeping. I get irritated enough on my own.  Ugh pregnancy insomnia could have waited a couple more weeks!!

  • oh good. I was up at 421 bc my body felt that was
a good time to have a stomach revolt.

512am currently and my husband is snoring and im clearly not.
  • Really this insomnia sucks...might as well go assemble the ikea bookcase in the box I ignored yesterday. I can't even pretend to try to sleep when there's a hurricane going on where my stomach used to be, wtf is this kid doing! I feel like everyone but me (and you other pregnant ladies) is having a wild dance party this weekend and it's not fair

I posted this in Weekly Randoms, but should've just waited for this thread. I hate fireworks. I really do. I always have.

And, I especially hate the people who set them off after midnight. I have a two year old, people. If you wake him, then you can come to my house and try to get his whiny butt back to sleep.

  • Ditto on the late-night fireworks. I was prepared for my kid to have trouble sleeping the night of July 4th, but my neighbors decided to also set off fireworks last night. So, she didn't get to sleep until midnight. So, I didn't get much sleep last night and now I get to clean my house and cook for family and friends. Yay.
  • It is 7:34 am and fireworks have already commenced for the day. Pretty sure it's the cannon.

  • I love fireworks but even I get frustrated with people abusing them. Our neighbors have been doing them for days and my poor dog is a basket case. This is one of my favorite holidays but I think I'll be sitting most of today out. I have a very stressful job and I worked like 60 hours last week. My feet were so swollen Friday and I haven't really been able to get them to go down. We have family in town so we have been running all weekend. I just need to rest.
  • Good morning ladies.  It was Canada day here in Friday so we had fireworks all weekend as well.  Last night someone was setting them off in their front yard about 5 houses down and my cats were sitting in an open window.  Well let's just say I never seen them fly away from the window so quickly and one hasn't gone back yet.  The dog gets spooked too but she stayed on her bed beside my hubby.

I was up almost every hour to pee, but now that I'm awake for the day, I'm bored (home alone).  I'm considering going for a nap just to pass some time before I have to go pick him up.

  • I let work outdoors get ahead of everything indoors and now I'm getting to look forward to a whole day of cleaning/laundry, then a late night of fireworks since there is no point in trying to get my four year old to sleep on time with stuff blowing up all over the place.
  • Ditto on the fireworks bitchiest. I feel bad for my dog the most-- this has been going on since Friday night. She just looks scared and unhappy when it gets dark out waiting for the first kaaaaboooom.

On a personal note, my little babe hasn't moved much in the past day or so. Granted yesterday I was on my feet all day long-- literally and when I hit the bed (when he's most active) I just passed out.. I need to feel him today! It's giving me all sorts of anxiety.
  • @Schell2013 wow! I think I read your whole post like this O.O but ya definitely deserved to be reemed out (good to see your hubby isn't giving you grief about it).

So remember my being screwed out of summer school? Well I applied for a job for the summer and I know I'm the only qualified person that applied for it (it's a captioning job and the note takers in my department didn't apply).  I was all excited knowing I was the only one that applied, but I found out today that my big boss is messaging the note takers asking if they're interested in the job, even though they didn't apply.  So let me get this straight - I got screwed out of a job because I didn't apply and another person did, and now I'm getting screwed out of a job because I did apply and someone might say they're interested even though they didn't apply??  Ya I need to find a new job!

  • @Schell2013 I think you're 100% justified, I would have done the same thing! She sounds like a spoiled brat and deserved the ass chewing you gave her.
  • I agree about fireworks. They were driving my 5 year old daughter crazy last night!

@LauraPCOS Seriously, wtf? That is beyond messed up.

  • @LauraPCOS uhh that sounds like something to talk to HR about  :/ funny business!
  • @nataliemaephotography and @LauraPCOS thanks!
Despite all the things me and my husband have been fighting on lately this was the one thing we agreed on. It's been a long time coming. We couldn't even think of another person that would be so rude in someone else's home. He said when he was coming down the stairs and could hear some of the things I was saying the first thing that popped into his head was she is taking the words right out of my mouth.

Something funky is going on here! Perhaps someone is working "after hours" with the boss. If you catch my drift.

  • @Schell2013 UGH you were totally justified to be upset. That's just ridiculous.

As expected, I'm tired because I was up at the wee hours of the morning and it's hot as blazes at my in laws' house. I'm bored literally almost to tears. This sucks.

  • @Schell2013 I would have flung that bag of shit at her... I am so sorry you have a SIL like that. Even blowing up, you handled that WAY better than I would have!

@LauraPCOS Find out WTF is going on, be direct and be stern. I was upset with your last post about that job, but this one takes the cake. If this is the SAME boss making these calls, there is some fuckery going on and HR or whoever you CAN go to above your boss needs to be contacted ASAP as well. Sent whoever you can the same e-mail, make the same phone call, go into the office, do what you have to do but you bring that to their attention.
  • @AllyTheKid I seriously thought about rubbing her face in it honestly. My husband said I didn't even think you were capable of freaking out on someone like that  :o

  • Spent all day today at the ER trying to see if I had a clot in my leg (I don't - at least not one they saw.) I tried to get my husband not to go with me because I knew he didn't think it was necessary and was just going to be pissed off, but he insisted, so I spent the whole time with grumpy husband. (To be fair he has been good about not directing the grump at *me* but it's still unpleasant.) The worst part was after they got my ultrasound results we waited TWO HOURS just for the doctor to be free to tell us "all clear" which was on their computer the whole time.

  • @Rainmira9e are you having numbness is one of your feet? I had that a few weeks ago and was worried about a clot. My midwife had me do some inversions to shift the baby. It worked like a charm and I haven't had that issue since.
  • My bitch fest is why the heck do I keep getting yest infections? Am I baking bread or a baby really starting to get peven off my Dr figures eit her I'm dietetic again or I'm just over producing he says I'm aloud to treat it every 30 day.
  • Got up this morning and couldn't wait to prep the burger recipe I saw on Tasty. Got them all ready and could not wait to eat them. All I crave is burgers. Everyday. So me and my niece went to the mall and did some shopping... DH called as we were heading home and he said he'd start the burgers for us since they will take about a half hour to grill. Well I get home all excited for my burger and I get my DH yelling for me and we get upstairs and we see tons of smoke everywhere outside... Well my nice juicy burgers caused a damn grease fire in the grill and caused some serious flames and well they burnt the shit outta the burgers. DH felt so bad but at that time I was just happy the propane tank didn't blow or the house catch on fire. One burger was some way salvaged and I took a piece of it and I wish I didn't because it was amazing and then I was so upset that they got burnt and ruined! So DH knew how much I wanted a burger so he went out and got me one. So there was still a happy ending. I got my burger!

  • I've considered going to the Union, because this isn't right, but at the moment I just don't care enough - I'm so done with how they treat us, and then blame us when the morale is low.  Over my time off, I'm going to seriously look for a different job, because as much as there are some great perks working at a school board, the past 2-3 years have been complete bullshit and not worth it.

  • Seems like insomnia is a thing here... last night I slept 3 hours, and as I live in Mexico well, no holiday for me, so I had to get to my office and work on the end of month with a terrible migraine, and with the EHS coordinator being a douchebag all because I he didn't want me to have an special parking lot and I reached his boss.

I really didn't want to walk out of the office about 1.5 miles in a 101 F sunny day.... So I file a compliance against him for not doing a thing about it in a month, considering that I was out of the office for 2 days because of contractions.

He really hates me now, but I don't really care, at all.... I got my parking space, I get to avoid the shop floor. I may have overreacted but my baby's health is above all things.

  • @Rainmira9e are you having numbness is one of your feet? I had that a few weeks ago and was worried about a clot. My midwife had me do some inversions to shift the baby. It worked like a charm and I haven't had that issue since.
I actually have permanent minor numbness in my left leg because of nerve stuff in my back, but that's not the issue. My left calf has been painful for several days and my left calf/ankle/foot has been swelling. At first I thought it was aftermath from night cramps, which I always get in my left side because of the aforementioned nerve issues, but then I remembered DVT and my doctor's office suggested I go in to the ER because of the combination of symptoms. I'm still not 100% convinced it's not a clot they missed on the ultrasound, but telling myself that either it's something else or it's so small I don't need to worry right now (correct or not, for my sanity.)

  • Looks like I'm going to be up all night with a crying baby... stupid fire crackers.
  • Last one of the evening- OKC Thunder lost Kevin Durant. Bummmmmmmer =/
  • @AllyTheKid Seattleite over here, OKC Thunder can suck it  ;)

  • My bitch is DH not helping me with an already sensory-overwhelmed DS this evening at the ILs so that I could sit down for 5 minutes and eat. Instead, I ate my meal one bite at a time between chasing after DS and trying to keep the peace between DS and his cousins.

My bitchfest this 4th you ask? My friend's boyfriend SUCKS. and we were all sharing a cabin.
  • Mine is more of a petty problem, but my extended weekend wasn't long enough. We got a TON accomplished though, but I need one more day to relax from all that work.
  • I love that my dh and dd have a great relationship (yes she may be a cliched 'daddy's girl' but I think it has a lot to do with the bonding time they got after she was born when I was in the OR) but Monday's (or in this case Tuesday) are the WORST!! She gets so used to having him around for the weekend that she is clingy and whiny and just  :# all day. This morning has already been worse since he took off Friday and then had off Monday so it was a lot of time together. And then my dh will text me all day saying how much he misses her and blah blah blah. Between the two of them I feel like I'm going crazy! I want to tell him that I only have enough emotional stability to deal with one of them without losing my cool so I'm going to choose the 3 year old. You'd think they'd be used to this by now!!!

My boss just told me I had to start looking for another job. I have a 3 year old and one on the way.  I have 3 different doctor's appointments a month. My DH works but not enough right now to support everyone. And the worst part is my boss is my father. I quit my job to help at his company and now I have to Start looking again. I can't go back to where I was and for someone to hire me now when I'm about to take time off to have a baby in October would just be ridiculous. We are barely making it as it is and now I have this on top of it.
  • I meant to post yesterday but I forgot. So originally I wasn't going to have a shower. I told my mom that she had enough going on (she takes care of my grandma) and I didn't want her to worry about it. Well apparently my MIL and her BFF decided they were going to throw one for me and dragged my mom into it. Since they can be a pain, I've stepped in to help plan so I can help my mom deal with their BS.

The first problem arouse when they were insisting on having it at my MILs house. Well she lives in a tiny house with 3 cats and 5 people and no one has cleaned it in the 3 years they've lived there. She kept saying it would be in the yard. When my mom asked what we would do if it rained, my MIL said "Oh we'll go in the basement." I told my mom to put her foot down and make it at her house because there's no way my grandma would be able to come in my MILs house and my grandma is NOT missing my baby shower.

So after that was settled I begged my mom to pick a date. My dad already kind of messed up the date by planning a trip to CA when it was supposed to be, so now the earliest we can I have it, I'll be 33 weeks. So I said please, set it for that date so it doesn't end up being later than that. Well she had to check with my MIL so she asked my husband to talk to his mom. After a 5 minute conversation with her, he comes back pissed and says, "You better call your mom. She said August 21st is fine, but it will only be from 12-2 and it will NOT be 50 people because we're on a budget."

So I called my mom. She's so annoyed. She goes, "Why would there be an end time? It's a BBQ. People are going to come and go. It's not even worth it for it to be 2 hours long. And *I'm* going to be paying for most of it. I already approved 50 people because I have people I need to invite."

So now my poor mom, who I didn't want dealing with any shower chaos, is having to deal with my obnoxious MIL and will end up having to plan most of it because my MIL wants to do this on the cheap.

I'm a big enough person to say it's sweet that my MIL wanted to do this for me, but she's a horrible woman, I can't stand her, and she's putting my mother through a lot for this stupid thing. I want to call it off. I'm not even going to want to have a BBQ when I'm 33 weeks.  :#
