  • Everyday I can't wait for my boss to leave so I can unbutton my pants and take off my top shirt (I always have a cami on underneath). He usually leaves an hour before I do, but today he left even earlier. Aww yeah.

  • Another- my midwife doesn't do early u/s unless she can't find the heartbeat with doppler at 10 weeks. For once, I am pretty grateful for my fluff! Also, I can't believe they do doppler at 10 weeks? I thought it was 12-14 that doppler became more reliable. Pregnancy brain or scientific advances?

I can not get out of bed in the morning and I've been really late to work everyday this week and hiding in my office avoiding doing actual work. I went into one of my retail stores one afternoon and had one of my employees go buy me french fries on the clock and sat in a chair for two hours eating french fries.

Also I picked up a really good book so I've been over-exaggerating to my husband how sick I've been so I could finish the book instead of having to do housework.
This made me laugh! I've been treading a fine line between feeling okay and like crap so I make sure not to be too enthusiastic when I'm feeling okay just so I can make a quick escape of something I'm not into lol
I felt great my last two pregnancies and aside from normal swelling and random hormone swings I pretty much had no symptoms and did all my normal activities right up until the end. Which with my second was pretty much everything because of my husbands work schedule. We actually got in an argument because my second was a full term scheduled csection and I wanted to go in to work in the morning beforehand and my husband wanted me to take the day off. This time around I feel like crap so I've given up on life a lot sooner. #old

Ditto, my first 2 pregnancies were a breeze, this time I'm exhausted, nauseated, and can't stay in a standing position long for some reason. I feel like I look lazy, but I've been carrying a collapsible chair around when I'm outside so I can sit if I feel like it. Not sure how old you are but my second pregnancy I gave birth at 22 this time I'll be 30, so I'm going with the age thing too

  • Today's wand had an official "probe cover", not a condom. It was about twice as long as the condoms I'm used to.

  • @cantalopes24 the app ate my last sentence I had included above^^   it said what book are you reading? I enjoy occasional reading and am always curious what other people are into.

  • @kswiger06 I was 21 and 25 when I had my first two. I turned 30 this year. We're not old in the grand scheme of things but pregnancy as a fit and active 21 year old is a whole different ball game than tired and 30 lol.

I'm reading"My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry". It's pretty good.
  • I just got invited to a "gender reveal".
    Barf.
Buuuuuutttttt they throw great parties and always have a taco man soooo...

stuck in the box dammit. I would go to any party that had a taco guy

  • I pretended not hear my puppy this morning (and every morning for the last week) when he woke up early needing to go outside. So DH woke up and took him out and I got to sleep some more.
  • I ended up in the hospital today to be rehydrated via IV. I haven't kept anything down in days and I'm a mess. I want this pregnancy. I want this baby. But today I am angry. I am sad that I haven't done anything with my kids this week and I feel like I have barely seen them because ive been sick and in bed. I'm angry that this is happening again and just wish it wasn't. And then I feel guilty because I wouldn't wish away this baby #3. I just don't want another HG experience. I don't know how I can handle this with two kids at home.

This is me everyday, even before I was pregnant. I call it "Dog Chicken."
I ALSO CALL IT DOG CHICKEN!!!!!  10 months out of the year, I am on dog duty five days a week.  On weekends and all summer, it's husband's  job.  Not sorry.

  • @Babymakes5! That sounds so miserable. I hope you start feeling better soon. Maybe if you are up to it and have a TV in your room, you can have the kids in the room with you for a movie fun day. It will get them near you a little, but you can still stay in bed relaxing or napping and they'll be ok with it since they'll be with mommy, watching movies. :)

Aww ((hugs)) I really hope you get some relief soon! Don't feel guilty, it's normal to be angry when you feel so sick and to have to let things slack a bit. Your kids love you and I'm sure they understand you're not feeling well and probably just want to make you feel better. @kswiger06 idea of a movie day sound awesome. You could also try a puzzle or some games in bed with the kids if you start feeling a little better. Just get a piece of poster board or any flat surface that you can lay on the bed and I'm sure the kids will have fun sitting with you playing.

  • Hugs, @Babymakes5!  I'm sorry you've been hit so hard. Don't feel bad about being angry, it sounds awful.
  • So sorry @Babymakes5! That is really rough and miserable ... just remember that this too shall pass, and while it's the end of the world for now, in the long run this may not even be a blip on your kids' radar.

That's awesome! If our dog has an accident, my husband always find something to do to seem too busy and I end up getting it before it drives me bonkers. I think he's cleaned it up off carpet maybe once. If it's on the hard floors he just covers it with paper towels until I get to it. :( but he does clean all people throw up, I will gag/dry heave until I puke if I smell the tiniest hint of it.

  • @Babymakes5! I am so sorry. I'm in a similar boat. I'm on zofran and uni/B6 and going in for fluids once a week. I am grateful to not be puking 24/7 but I'm still constantly nauseated. I have to work and be semi functional but those 8 hours take everything out of me. I come home and sleep all evening/night and I feel like the worse mother and spouse. Not to mention we just moved into a beautiful new house and EVERYTHING is in boxes. I feel like I'm cheating my family out of a mom, the feel of home, and their summer. :(

  • So DH just told me that he hates a piece of our furniture - an antique family heirloom that was shipped from Italy. I like it but not as much as he dislikes it - and we have other antiques to make me feel connected. I like the thought of it more than I actually like it I think. So I'm going to call my mom tomorrow to tell her I'm shipping it back to her with some heirloom dishes that she already knows are coming. I can handle not having it, I can't handle no one in the family having it. She may not want it - or more likely will be reluctant - so I'm taking a page from her book and just telling her it is coming. It will be at her expense too because she's paying for shipping the dishes. I don't feel too bad because she sold her house a few weeks ago at a profit and we're going to have a loss on our condo. Plus she just offered to help pay for getting our stuff shipped to San Antonio and I told her we had the savings to cover it. I feel bad that I don't feel very bad...

  • @BumpasaurusRex - to move to San Antonio? We're in the process of getting in home estimates. My mom moved within Canada about 2500 miles 3 years ago and says she spent about $7000 (Canadian) to ship her 1 bedroom apartment contents. Calgary to San Antonio is about 2000 miles but international - we've got a 2 bedroom apartment, but are considering getting rid of a lot of our Ikea furniture, and will get rid of most of our books before moving. I don't know how much it will cost to ship stuff out to mom - also getting an estimate on that today. It sounds horrible to make her pay (depending on the cost we may pay for part of it, it depends on our level of shock at how much we'll need to pay to move our own stuff), but I'm sure it will be less than what she offered, and she loves the piece of furniture too. Logistically it isn't fair to DH to have us consider where we'd put this particular piece of furniture when we're looking at a house to buy in a few months given that he dislikes it so much.

I wish I could get away with that, but I think our dogs could be having a full on fight on the bed on top of him, barking in his face and he'd sleep through it, lol. A little scared for what that means with a baby, haha

edit: I mean, not that the dogs are vicious, that was just an eggagerated example. I mean scared I'll be the only one waking up when baby makes noise, lol.

  • I decided to start checking maternity clearance and start collecting things now rather than waiting until I need it and having to drop a bunch of money at once. I found a great pair of pants that are actually cute, and are so comfortable that I'm considering just starting to wear them now even though I haven't gained a pound yet.

Are regular pants the most uncomfortable thing ever, or is it just me?

Oooh ok, I didn't realize she had offered to pay.  If she had no idea and the items just showed up with an unexpected bill, that would be a huge dick move.

    Glad that's not the case!

Nope! Not just you  :).  I've even given up on my leggings with regular waistbands. It's 100% maxi skirts for me right now.

Me too. My whole lower abdomen just feels sensitive or something. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of good leggings or stretchy skirts so I mostly just stealthily undo my top button.

I get that feeling. My abdomen isn't sore, but feels uncomfortable with any pressure. I am so grateful that I wear scrubs and yoga pants to work.

    Yeeeesssss!
  • I dislike a lot of snark when a thread gets going with it. I agree that what I have seen isn't bullying but I was bullied as a kid so some of the snark seems unnecessarily mean - but I know I'm sensitive about it likely because of my past.

The other thing is that there is so little nonverbal communication in written form (it can be added but it is impoverished relative to verbal and in person communication) - it assumes to some degree that you know the poster - and at this point I don't feel like I have a good handle on most personalities - there are just so many of us.

One last thought - I think you can be bullied even if you come back to a discussion and respond. Getting defensive doesn't negate the actions of others.

Omg maternity pants are all I can wear I'm so bloated. I could go up 2 sizes but it would be a waste of money. I love my maternity pants they're comfy and no one can tell anyways :)
