Baby neck rolls

Anybody have a good strategy for keeping them clean/dry? I wash with a washcloth when she takes a bath, but I worry they don't dry out enough afterward, plus it's usually seconds before she's spit up on herself again. I try to wipe them out whenever I can, but R is not a fan of me peeling away at her many layers of chins to get a good clean, and her natural positions to be in don't let them air out.

Re: Baby neck rolls

  • I just clean and dry under there and her arms really well during her baths a few days a week.
if she spits up I just tilt her head back and wipe it with a damp cloth then a dry one.
    Just gotta do it

  • My little guy doesn't like me getting the cheese out of his neck either! I didn't actually realize what was going on till he had a rash under there. So, I read so put desitin on it when it is red and Vaseline or coconut oil on it after baths to protect it... Just like you do with their behind.
Now that I know it's a problem he's prone to, I check it a couple times a day during some of his diaper changes just to make sure is clean and dry.
  • We do Vaseline after bath too. It shouldn't be too much longer until they can hold their heads up better and it won't be an issue anymore.

  • My guys has always been able to hold his head up. He just has very deap rolls!
  • Mine too and it smells terrible. When it gets red I put polysporin in it and it clears it up in a couple hours.
  • After baths I use the hair dryer on low/warm setting (he loves it for some reason) and then put Vaseline on it once it's dry. A little different approach, but it works :)
  • When we were first at the hospital he had an issue under his armpits from the nurses not drying him enough after his first bath. It was a yeast infection, we used the anti fungal ointment that they gave us, and it cleared up in a few days. The ped recommended using corn starch on those areas or a corn starch based baby powder to help absorb the moisture. It's worked really well thus far!
