@mrsdaddario haha! It's true, babies cannot ride on motorcycles, but I have been on them since I was like 4! DH and I want one, but we are waiting because there really is no point right now.

@Aurora1973 You're so right! There really are just waaaaay too many choices. I just had to pick something that seemed simple enough for me, and go with it. There will always be other options, but I just want to stick with my plan, and if something's not working ON THE ACTUAL BABY then that's different, but for now I have my plan and I'm sticking to it!
@mrsdaddario They have so much! But their website is just maybe not as shiny as some of the other ones... but all good stuff I can get behind their whole approach, too, bc it IS supposed to be cost-effective and I don't think they are there trying to gouge people or sell them more more more, it's like we have all the diapers you need, right here. Take your pick! lol
@GrabberBlue2010 @KirstinH88 @PepperAT I have yet to splurge on the actual betabrand ones... every time I go there and think about it, they are sold out of my size in the print/style I want to try... :P
@QueenofGlitz Ugh, ya we used to have Netflix, but then I got us just down to Amazon Prime and hulu, plus everything else on the roku. I might have to check again... it's got to be in there somewhere!
@krys I gotta say I’m in the gif siggy camp as well. I think
most of them are really cute – and it helps me to associate responses with
peoples names. I’m sure once I get to know everyone better, they’ll be not
needed.

Never could get into it much.

caved and bought some super cute shiz. I told myself ‘not yet’ – but maybe I
will next time. And honestly, I really want to CD but your post just gave me a

If we aren’t in the same BMB, I may message you random CD questions lol.
My UO is that I hate gender assigned colors. Pink for girls, blue for boys. It bugs me to no end. DH and I both decided we were going to not find out the sex of our baby when we get KU. Partially because I want to be surprised and think it would be a lot of fun, but mostly to avoid the overwhelming stuff in the 'appropriate' gender color.
I think my UO mainly came from the fact that when I was 5, I told my mom I wanted my room painted blue and she flat out told me no - it was a boy color and I should have a pink room. Blegh. I still harbor a grudge.
@GrabberBlue2010 Wait, what?! Those pants are for real? *runs off to google these magical pants* My world is changed forever. I need these pants in my life right now.
@GrabberBlue2010@BusinessWife@PepperAT Gasp! $78! For one! Is there a knock-off brand? HAHA! I think DH would KILL me if I bought $78 yoga pants for work. haha!
@PepperAT - LMAO. Get them and strut yo stuffff!!! aaaand of course lemme know if they are comfy....
@BusinessWife - are there a cheaper brand that you know of/own??? If so do tell!!!
I guess my UO for today might not be terribly unpopular. I am totally on here way more than anywhere else. I would much rather hang out here and chat with you guys then I would be on FB. I check TB first in the morning, all throughout the day, and then oftenw hen I get home and relaxing. I am hardly on FB anymore. Insta I am still kind of on there a little more than FB.
@GrabberBlue2010 I am also on here than any other social media site. I used to always go on FB. And I still do. But definitely not as much as I'm on here. My busy time at work is coming to an end, so I'm definitely going to be on here even more during the day. I'm trying to stay off my phone or social media while at home because DH grumbles at me every time.
ETA: Sometimes I just hit refresh to see if anyone new has commented. haha!

Omg, I have a very similar story! I have a very clear memory of when I was 4 or 5, my grandma asked me what my favorite color was. I told her green and she said, "That's a color for boys! You should like pink!" And of course my little defiant self was sitting there stewing thinking, "Well, I like green so you can stuff it!" On that note, I'm adamant on being team green for baby #1. DH wants to find out so we will for #2, if we get to that point!
I don't mind the general association of blue for boys or pink for girls, but I feel like people go overboard with it -- like when the entire nursery is dripping in pepto-bismol and every toy is pink. It's when they get seriously offended (and I've seen it happen!) if you buy a yellow shirt for their son or blue items for a girl. My main objection is how tightly bound people feel to hew to those conventions, when it's like, not that big of a deal!

@BusinessWife Wow! Look at all those goodies. I am so jealous over here, I literally have not allowed myself to buy anything. I also love how your dog just laid right in the middle of it all. Everything is so cute and little!
@PepperAT Just don't tell my DH I started buying actual diapers, cos somehow when it was just covers, I think it was different. But now I'm like, that's just not *practical!* lol. He said the same thing tho, it's all so little and cute! And he likes the prints! I was only going to get one other thirsties print, but then those were the two he said he liked and I caught a sale, and they only had 2 of each, not 4 in either one, so I figured, why not!? Lol
Etclarify, I was just going to go with all Woodland, but he also said he liked the ones with the trees, too, those were his two faves ;)

@ahrains The pink sports stuff drives me up the wall. I find it insulting. Just because we're female doesn't mean we have to have all pink, or that something has to be pink for us to like it. Like "Bic Pens for Women" or pink razors. If you're really a fan, wear the right colors.
@PepperAT A long time ago I was at the bagel shop near my house and it's a neighborhood place, they know their regulars, it's casual, very come-as-you-are. Well, one girl took that a little too far and showed up in her PJs with acne medication still on her pimples. At first I thought maybe she didn't know, but her hair looked like she had looked in the mirror that morning. I died laughing. Internally, of course.
UO: I love Buzzfeed for mindless entertainment, but I'm over the way they and other media outlets put out clickbait headlines with phrases like "It's Everything" or "It's Perfect." Not everything can be everything or perfect! What does everything even mean?? That's not an adjective! How about it was lovely, or funny, or mildly amusing. Not EVERYTHING. Am I old?

And I guess I'm done for the day because I didn't notice the little "2" right up there saying there was a whole second page of responses! I wanted to join in on the genderization (is that a word?) of colors!
My friends have asked me if I want their old baby stuff and I said of course, I won't turn down free clothes considering I've heard how often babies get changed in a day. One said "Well we only have boys clothes, so if you have a girl I guess you can throw them out" and I said "oh, can a girl not wear a blue onesie?" I mean, c'mon! What I really hate is that H said he's fine with dressing a girl in boys clothes, but not the other way around. He's stuck in some testosterone time warp, I swear. The baby won't catch gay from a pink onesie!

@hezzer78 I am totally in that camp as well! My brother-in-law has thanked me numerous times for only buying my niece neutral or boy clothing. She looks super cute with a little faux business tie and I'm just sorry that they don't make it with 80s power shoulderpads.
I think my rejection of gender colors (and toys) comes from hearing my mom at fast food places when they'd ask "Boy or girl toy?" and she would argue with the poor workers about what they meant before finally culminating with, "OH! I think you're confused - this looks like it's labelled BARBIE or HOT WHEELS and has nothing to do with gender. I will happily accept the HOT WHEELS toy."
@eggplantface I have a very cute picture somewhere of DS in a pink onsie. My sister was watching him for me. Threw up everywhere and the formula had spilled all throughout his diaper bag. My sister apparently had a rough day. All she had was a pink onsie (she has girls) and so that's what was put on him. And yes, he won't catch "the gay."
@Mrsfl2015 - I'm still only on season 2, but I'm catching up quickly!
On another note, I'm sitting here with 45 minutes left of work, drooling over the fact that my boyfriend said we can get Buffalo Wild Wings and binge watch GoT tonight. Why do I only think about food and the latest TV show I'm obsessed with?
*edit: can't figure out why the quote looks funny..? Maybe it's just me.
*edit again: GOT IT.

Alright alright I was going to save this for FFFC but I probably won't have service this weekend anyway, and @BusinessWife you paved the way for me!
I bought a damn pregnancy shirt. It says napping for two. It's funny because I really enjoy naps and it's just a joke between friends and family, but mostly I did it because I don't see my mom often as she lives many states away and there are going to be a few times that she's up here this summer and I'm hoping to be able to wear it to "announce" it. Don't bother flaming, I already hate myself enough for pressing the order button! It's set to deliver today...
All this to say, no judgement @BusinessWife , you do you!! All those tiny diapers are adorable!

No judgements! Whenever I see "sale" or "clearance" signs for baby onesies, I stop and look. DH is pretty hands-off (well not literally.....haha) with the whole TTC process. He knows about the charting, temping, OPKs but he doesn't know the daily status of my chart unless I'm close to ovulation. I'm going to "surprise" him with a cute onesie when the time comes. I've found some cute ones, but I always chicken out of buying them.
My UO is I like cheap beer. Most fancy, expensive stuff is yucky to me. I went to a beer tasting complete with food pairings and I only liked maybe one or two!
@ahrains I agree! Yankees aren't Yankees in anything but the blue, gray, or pinstripes! If it's pink AND glittery, I lose respect really fast.
@BusinessWife I love that palette. ELF is my new favorite!
@housewifehobbyist FI is allergic to most dogs, so I don't even have to worry about not wanting one! I grew up with two and all of my sisters have 1 or 2. I don't wanna walk a dog when it's raining or snowing and I hate being licked! I will pet sit for a week a year thought.
@Hezzer78 I rebelled on the "girl colors" at a young age. Twin loved purple and pink. I liked yellow, green, and brown! Now I'm a blue / turquoise / aqua girl.
ETA I bought two grandparent magnets off Zulily yesterday and a "future linebacker" tiny little football jersey Christmas ornament in December. At least we will be prepared!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@hezzer78 That is annoying. I have no problem with cultural assignment of "gender" colors for littles, but as soon as their old enough to make their own judgement let them pick whatever. I loved blue as a kid and my mom painted my room blue. I would probably feel differently if she had told me it had to be pink because I HATED pink. My favorite color now is purple.
I'm feeling low on unpopular opinions today. Here's a boring one, but I'll bet it's actually unpopular:
I love beets. Love them. I think they are absolutely delicious.

@ahrains Hahahah yessssssss. I'll let her know she got slow claps today, she always gets a kick out of the fact that I remember that so well (considering she did it so often, I don't know why she's surprised).
She seriously did a good job of lowkey raising a feminist - as I got to the argumentative teen stage, she'd often take a far more... gender-roles-are-good stance, so I'd naturally be like, "UGH MOM WHAT DO YOU KNOW, WOMEN CAN HAVE SUPER SHORT HAIR AND MEN CAN WEAR MAKEUP, IT'S WHATEVER."
Come a decade later and she fessed up to reverse-psychology-ing me a bunch to get me to be far more radical than I probably would have been had she tried to encourage me directly. Mind = blown.
UO I am a little obsessed with plastic surgery even though I don't have any work done.
I will definitely be getting a breast reduction in the future. I'm a 36F/36G depending on the brand, and I'm only 5"2. Cut these knockers off of me already. This is obviously more for overall comfort than cosmetic reasons.
For cosmetic reasons though, I would totally get a Brazilian Butt Lift. Suck out the fat from my back and gut and put it in my butt? Yes, please. I also follow several plastic surgeons on Instagram and love looking at BBL before and afters. They are so satisfying.
My mother became a feminist only late in life. Growing up I was instructed in "the old ways" of ladylike behavior. Be quiet. Be good. Good girls are quiet. Quiet girls are good. But now, my mom's all
@Maggie1202 I'm the same way with maternity/baby stuff. Like my ute will know I put the cart in front of the horse and refuse to conceive. But in everything I keep my expectations low so I'm not disappointed. Man, that's so sad when I say it like that.

@eggplantface Exactly! It is sad, but when AF comes, my expectations are so low that it's kind of just like... Okay... So that happened... Try again next cycle. It's a big part of the reason I'm so on and off on this board. I don't want to get too invested.

@BusinessWife Can we be best friends? I'm obsessed with cloth diapering. DS wears cloth (Gro-Via AIO or hybrids) and my only regret is that I didn't start him in cloth from the day he was born. I joke around with my friends that I cloth diaper and am breastfeeding my toddler because I'm a hot mess and can't be trusted to remember to buy diapers or milk.
eta tags @TheJerilu @eggplantface @hezzer78 @ahrains @KirstinH88 TBH, I love blue so much I was a little afraid if I just got all the blues, people would assume I wanted a boy even if it was a girl, and I'd have to always be defending my choice, like, No, mommy just likes blue! Lol
@MandyBeeSLP. I love beets too! I'm Ukrainian by background, so I just assume everybody likes beets! Why wouldn't you? I'm always shocked and a little bit hurt when I meet someone who doesn't like them.:/
I didn't have time to read the whole thread, but I couldn't not jump in on the business yoga pants discussion..... mine are not exactly yoga pants, but they have elastic waists and feel as close to yoga pants as possible, but look like business pants..
Anyways, I got mine at Reitmans ("comfort pant") for like 30 bucks each.... And at Costco for like 12bucks each.
Downside: the elastic in the pants sometimes breaks faster at the seams and little elastic ends can sometimes be visible, but I wore two pairs of the Costco pants literally at least 3days of a five day work week every week of the school year and they lasted at least one year, definitely at least part way into next year.
I wore the reitmans ones for two years before the elastics were so bad that I was embarrassed to wear them in case someone thought I had a hairy butt (seam down the back haha)

What brought this on: Someone on my Facebook just put something about being thankful to not have to go through puberty again and then closed it off with "my poor girls" um, really? Do we want to be thinking about your girls ' puberty? Do they want us knowing about that? Why would you ever think this is ok?

This is really more a complaint then a UO. I spent most of today at work with my head in my hands trying not to scream as everyone around me kept saying "huuuuh?" in a loud high pitched voice whenever someone said anything. The frequency might be an exaggeration, but literally the women on either side of me do it all the time. I hate that "huuuuh/eeeeehhh?" sound that goes up in pitch. And most of the time they did hear what was said. I also might just be PMSing which makes me sad. I think I'm going to go home and sleep.

When I see those posts I wonder if those are parents who see their children not as other people, but as extensions of themselves, or an accessory, another method for getting attention.

Am I old?

My friends have asked me if I want their old baby stuff and I said of course, I won't turn down free clothes considering I've heard how often babies get changed in a day. One said "Well we only have boys clothes, so if you have a girl I guess you can throw them out" and I said "oh, can a girl not wear a blue onesie?" I mean, c'mon! What I really hate is that H said he's fine with dressing a girl in boys clothes, but not the other way around. He's stuck in some testosterone time warp, I swear. The baby won't catch gay from a pink onesie!

Thanks, mom.

@KirstinH88 Try NY&Co. I get them on sale there.
@Hezzer78 I rebelled on the "girl colors" at a young age. Twin loved purple and pink. I liked yellow, green, and brown! Now I'm a blue / turquoise / aqua girl.
@Kiki75 Aww hello no to naked kids at work!!
ETA I bought two grandparent magnets off Zulily yesterday and a "future linebacker" tiny little football jersey Christmas ornament in December. At least we will be prepared!

Hahahah yessssssss.

Man, that's so sad when I say it like that.

eta tags @TheJerilu @eggplantface @hezzer78 @ahrains @KirstinH88 TBH, I love blue so much I was a little afraid if I just got all the blues, people would assume I wanted a boy even if it was a girl, and I'd have to always be defending my choice, like, No, mommy just likes blue! Lol
@MandyBeeSLP. I love beets too! I'm Ukrainian by background, so I just assume everybody likes beets! Why wouldn't you? I'm always shocked and a little bit hurt when I meet someone who doesn't like them.:/
Eta @clover28 lol That is a good one!

The Internet is not a place for a child..... I think many parents post too many pictures, pictures that are inappropriate, and details that they shouldn't. I am thankful that every milestone, mistake, funny saying, etc didn't end up online for all my parents ' friends to see...
What brought this on: Someone on my Facebook just put something about being thankful to not have to go through puberty again and then closed it off with "my poor girls" um, really? Do we want to be thinking about your girls ' puberty? Do they want us knowing about that? Why would you ever think this is ok?
This same parent set up her daughters first babysitting gig online with date, time, and location freely named recently. I called her out on that one.

When I see those posts I wonder if those are parents who see their children not as other people, but as extensions of themselves, or an accessory, another method for getting attention. Imagine growing up and your temper tantrums and puberty woes are all over the internet. I'm also very cynical of Facebook and oversharing in the first place.
