So here's my recap of Friday Night's elopement. I say elopement because only about 15% of our friends know...and only our families know. The rest didn't. Till we announced on FB.
How to Elope on a $500 budget, SoCal style:
Must haves: 1. Amazon 2-day Prime Shipping 2. Pinterest 3. Stuff laying around the house that can be used to prettify things. 4. A lot of energy and the ability to think outside the box.
Steps: 1. Set a date. Change it twice. (Sunrise vs sunset?) 2. Get a cheap officiant off of taskrabbit, and get an even cheaper photographer ($119! on Groupon). 3. Use pinterest to inspire the imagination (and have friends on the interwebs from O16 to help with brainstorming! ) 4. Get amazon to deliver the things you do not have: canvas teepee, breakfast tray, some LED candles. 5. Gather things around the house to make things pretty: blankets, throw pillows, throws. 6. Use an inexpensive (but very special) ring you bought during one of your travels together (I'm now sporting a wedding ring from Greece!) 7. Pack a picnic 8. Go to an iconic SoCal beach (Coronado) 9. Start a bonfire in a $20 galvanized tub from Home Depot. (but check with the lifeguards first!) 10. Get married barefoot on the sand. 11. Pop champagne. 12. Hang out by the fire with your husband and eat lots of cheese, fruit and crackers. 13. Roast some 'smores in lieu of wedding cake. 14. Pack it up and high five to a cheap and meaningful wedding.
You just look SO happy!! You're beaming - and it's not all just pregnant glow. You did an amazing job setting everything up and it looks like a perfect night. Congratulations!!
Thank you ladies! It was a blast. It was so nice to be able to change into leggings, a t-shirt and sweater, like 30 minutes after the ceremony. LOL. And just relax.
