Here's mine. I am pregnant with #3. I absolutely love having my slightly older kids - now 3 year old and 5 year old. I am of course excited about meeting a newborn once more and feeling that tiny baby in my arms, but there is a lot about infancy that I am NOT excited about. Sometimes I wish we could fast forward parts of the first year or two. Like sleep deprived hazes and feeling like a milk cow and high chairs and lots of crying. I can't wait to have a 2 year old, 5 year old, and 8 year old.

@SenoraKahlo did you see they inject premature babies with caffeine? In nicus? I couldn't believe that after my first pregnancy when I did give it up during first tri. After that I haven't paid too much attention if I happen to have an extra latte or soda.

A fair amount of the research has been on animals. My problem with that is, among other things, animal bodies aren't used to caffeine at all. To inject them with large quantities of caffeine during pregnancy when they have never had it before doesn't give a conclusive answer at all. All the studies on humans had inconclusive results. My theory is, humans handle caffeine differently, and should have it at their discretion during pregnancy. I know women who were extremely sensitive to caffeine while not pregnant, so they didn't have it during pregnancy. I've never been sensitive to it myself, and last pregnancy I worked 12 hour days up until I gave birth. No caffeine for me, would be difficult to say the least. Sorry for the novel lol
There can definitely be nothing wrong with a moderate amount of caffeine during pregnancy. I did once however see a mom who drank energy drinks during her pregnancy, and her baby exhibited withdrawal symptoms

Well, they use IV caffeine on NICU babies to keep them breathing. Literally to stimulate them for basic functions.
Not saying anything in regards to anyone's caffeine intake, I have no idea how much is in my iced tea, but they use at as medication, not as like, a habit or so they can be functional at work ;-)
Our house kinda unintentionally conducted our own caffeine experiment. With my DS I followed the no caffeine at all during pregnancy philosophy. With my DD I couldn't lounge and nap like I did with DS because I had DS to look after (they are 22mos apart)So, I drank ALOT of caffeine.
DS - laid back easy going DD- a wild maniac
??? Coincidence???
#3 is only 11 mths old right now so the jury's still out on him.
This is #4 for us so I guess our experiment continues.
I took half a dose of pepto bismol (in pill form) today. Couldn't keep anything down, alternately crying and vomiting and feeling sorry for myself. I caved. Then ate some mashed potatoes (first solid food I've had in my system for more than five minutes in almost two days!!!) But they have stayed down so far and my throat doesn't burn so much now. So, guess I'll fess up to doc but for now I will enjoy having a smidge of relief!
