To all the lurkers who've felt the need to shit all over a perfectly good thread:
Here's the thing... Literally no one on this BMB values your opinions, much less your unwarranted smart ass comments. I get that you're free to lurk, post, whatever, but why would you want to be here when, as I said, literally NO ONE wants you here? What thrill do you get from stirring the pot? I assume you're all actual people and not trolls or catfish, so let me ask you this... Would you talk to people in real life the way you did to people here? Do you just assert your opinion whenever and wherever you want, no matter how unwanted or unnecessary it is? I'd venture to say you probably don't. So what makes it okay on this board?
I think it would be better for everyone if you just keep to your little private groups and we'll keep to our BMB. That is, unless you have something valuable to contribute.
You know, I made two comments about potentially unpleasant historic associations with names. There was nothing rude in them, I didn't speculate about the education level of a person who didn't recognize a President or the morality of a person who considers naming their child after the commanding officer of an army that fought to defend slavery.
And clearly, judging from the passive aggressive ridiculousness on FFFC, I touched a nerve. And I don't care at all. There's a whole lot worse out there than someone pointing out that your name choices might be ill-considered, and if this is what it takes to get your knickers in a twist, you need to toughen up, buttercup.
But what strikes me as epic hypocrisy is then getting angry and starting with personal attacks, like speculating on someone's home life. If you can't handle the truth or the basic way a public message board works, go start a private board where you set up all the rules you want and make sure there's only happy (unrealistic) sunshine. Good luck with that. In the meantime, perhaps you ought to woman up and learn to deal with people with different opinions.
I really hadn't noticed an issue with anyone having differing opinions until this post. it seems the whole creating of a private group didn't go so well for n16 and we never had a need for any drama until you were quite snarky earlier.
usually differing opinion here is dealt with maturely, but when there's an attack type undertone it's pretty uncalled for

Andplusalso the whole, "you must be bored to be stirring the pot" type comments are hilarious in their nature simply because the person saying them must also be bored at home to be replying back in the first place.

Only, @FemShep wasn't snarky and didn't attack anyone. And the people who are choosing those names seem to have moved on. A few others are having a hard time doing the same.
Girl-I thought we were settled on Adrianna (n/n Addie), but DH is bringing Laila back into the conversation. Middle name will be Taiwanese and based on her birthdate and time.

I LOVE the n/n Addie! I also love laila, i have a niece named laila and we call her laylay.
SO and I have been together: 5 Years+ BFP: 03/10 First Baby: 10/20/2016
@JaJuanY - I really like both names! Laila makes me think Eric Clapton Layla... Which is a fabulous song. So, whichever you choose, they're both really great!
@bnsmith85 I thought of the song too! I love that song. @JaJuanY Addie is super cute too though! My coworker's daughter is Adrianna. I always thought it was gorgeous, but it's a mouthful to me and they don't call her by any nicknames. That's a tough choice.
Pointing out something that a person may not have considered in a respectful way (as @FemShep and I did) is not negativity. Only ever patting each other on the head and never pointing out helpful information isn't true support.
No one pulled out any snark until you ladies got all mean and personal.
@MRSCORKER I remember you from TTGP and I am so happy you are doing well. I think the first names James is adorable. Sending you good vibes - hope you know I was just trying to be helpful.
ok, I'd love to move on but can we not act as if "you guys" or "us guys" were playing 100% super nice and then "you guys" or "us guys" just ALL OF A SUDDEN started to be mean. I mean c'mon.
Also, WHAT IS IT about name threads that just bring out them Lurkey McLurkersons in droves? It's your kid, name as you please. Thank God they have a way to change it legally if they want to later.
Actually you are not the first person to make this connection. Every time nearly that i tell someone his name, they say oh you mean Robert E. Lee...
Robert is a family name my father is Robert. FI's grandfather was Robert Lee. FI'S father's middle name is Lee. We had our boy name picked out before we even conceived as we TTC for 9 months.
SERIOUSLY. Name threads. I can't even. I love hearing all your name choices but there are reasons I avoid the names board.
also why i avoid the name threads. Everyone has to input thior opinion of someones else's name choice. I don't understand why we can't all go with the golden rule here. If you wouldn't want someone to pick apart your childs name, then why do it to any other woman on this board?
Re: Have you named your baby yet? (If so.. share here!)

Personally I'm naming mine Adolf. #notsociallyawaredon'tcare.
percent of the regular posters are BSC and think the name "doorbell" is beautiful.
