Our daughter hasn't made her appearance yet, but all of these posts about Huggies diapers have me nervous! Out of curiosity, for those moms who have tried Huggies and had them leak, were they the Huggies Snug and Dry or the Little Snugglers? Or both and it didn't matter?
Unfortunately, of all the brands we tried with DD, huggies were the worst for us. We also switched to Pampers and they were amazing.
Heroes: dock a tot - highly recommend .. I have a RNP in our room for night time but he doesn't sleep for very long and getting in and out of bed was just way too much so I've resorted to the couch and I just put him in his dock & sleeps for about 3 hour stretches night and day! boppy pillow, Aden and anais swaddles, soothies, Kate spade diaper bag, pampers, mylicon gas drops, milk snob cover
zeroes: huggies they leak idk if maybe he is still too small for the newborn ones, rock n play but I will try it again soon when I'm feeling better at getting in and out of bed, nursing bras they don't fold over very well it's frustrating
TBD: ergo carrier with infant insert, 4 moms tub, stroller

Ugh Huggies . . . We had some Treasures ( NZ brand maybe? ) but saw huggies on a crazy special so we bought a few boxes of those as well. I think they were Snug and Dry ( all i remember is they were Newborn size and had Pooh Bear on them) They were terrible. We had no issues with the treasures (except for one lame nurse who put the diaper on super loose) Every single huggie diaper we put on Lucy leaked. I don't remember where I posted it but there was an incident where she actually ended up with poop in her armpit. Granted she is a forceful pooper but we have still not had a single leak with the other brand. The four days we use Huggies we had to change her clothes every time we changed her diaper.
Oh I forgot why i came here and got side tracked with diaper posts!
Anyone have a good recommendation for a swaddler? We have been using swaddle blankets but she liked to be rocked while swaddled but she sinks into them or busts out when we hold her wrapped up. I thought the Aden and Anais easy swaddle would be good but I read reviews that because it has snaps and not velcro that it doesn't always fit well. I was looking at the Summer Infant Swaddle Me with velcro as an option as well. Anyone have experience with these? Do your babies bust out of them? Does anyone have a different suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Holly is not a fan of swaddles and so we tried so many different kinds. She moves her arms so much that fabric often ended up loose near her face which worried me with most of them. The best one for us is the woombie. No loose fabric and she can still keep her arms on her chest like she likes. It's basically a straight jacket with one long zipper. The material is light weight (they have several types of fabric so you can choose based on temp where you are) and I love that the zipper runs from the bottom so we can change her diaper without taking her out completely.
I have one that looks like a woombie but has arm holes that you can snap shut or keep open. Addy loves to have her arms free. I think it's called an ergo cocoon or something like they. She seems to like it. I've also used the halo sleepsack with swaddle. She likes that too. I find the Velcro annoying in the night though!
As far as a swaddled baby we use halo swaddles with success. There are lots of different options. And also the hospital blankets (lessons can be found for getting the swaddle just so on YouTube).
Arms free options don't work as well for us at this stage/age.
Things that are used the most at this stage: Nursing clothes, lanolin, boppy, hospital blankets for swaddling, baby monitor (on both kids, two cameras, one screen), clothes with the built in hand cuffs, tiny scissor like nail clippers from Amazon (use these both on toddler and baby), pampers, and a big tub of aquaphor as diaper cream.
Havent started to baby wear yet but with our first our number one baby item for gear was the ergo. We never used the infant insert as LO was really small and I wanted to wait until LO was bigger and fit properly but then we happily used the ergo for years. It was the best! This time we got the insert but I haven't put baby in there yet.
Ladies who love the K'tan active, did you find the sizing tool on their site to be accurate? Some reviews say to size down and others to size up. Any advice?

I'd also like to know this... Though I already ordered mine... Ugh. Hope it fits!
Based on the reviews here I want to get one since the Ergo and Boba are not cutting it for me. The Ergo will be useful when he's older but the more I try to use the Boba, the more disillusioned I get. So tricky to get the hang of, feels potentially unsafe and also way too hot.
I'm leaning toward the k'tan breeze but some folks have written negative things about the mesh. I'm also wondering if the active will be a better choice since I want to take him hiking later on. Any thoughts from the k'tan owners here?
Also looking at the Baby Bjorn One - any reviews on that?
I'll come back once LO arrives, but for now, I'll add some heros from DD:
RNP, Ergo (with insert and then later without), Aden & Anais muslin swaddles, miracle blanket swaddle (expensive but SO worth it! I had pink for DD so I have already invested in two more for LO!), Chicco carseat and stroller (although this time we got the Contours Options double stroller that the Chicco carseat will clip into, can't wait to try it out!), Pampers sensitive wipes and Pampers swaddlers diapers, PNP for travel (in fact, I'm trying to figure out what to do when this LO gets older, since DD will NOT cosleep and I don't want to lug two PNPs around!), multiple fitted sheets and multiple changing pad covers, Fisher Price kick & play piano gym... I'm sure I'm missing some great ones but these have all been awesome with DD!
@Bltbear82@kp90 if you're short (5'2" or under) definitely size down. I'm 5'2" with a large chest (size 12ish in most dresses now) and a medium fits perfectly. The K'tan active seems to run a bit bigger than the standard k'tan too, though I have a medium in both.
@seasalt123 I read some iffy reviews about the breeze too. What made me ultimately order the active instead was that I liked that there were fewer seams to check before wearing and also I tend to get warm too...so having thick cotton on my back wouldn't ultimately be helpful to me even if DS2 was cool. Plus, I was concerned that the thinner mesh would be too slippery.

Thanks for the explanation - that makes so much sense.
@seasalt123, I have the Ka'tan Breeze and love it. I actually ordered it because of the mesh since both LO and I run hot. The mesh is very cool and not slippery or hard to handle at all. Be careful with the sizing tool as it recommended a large for me and I think I will eventually have to order a medium if my chest decreases as my milk regulates. I'm short, but curvy and have a short torso and more narrow shoulders. The large fits but LO has a very big head and long, thin, body, so sometimes the area supporting his head has more give than I'd like after wearing it for a while.
We also have a Baby Bjorn which DH uses anytime we take LO out of the house. It really seems built to better suit a man or at least someone with broader shoulders and less curves. It really bothered my chest and the Ka'tan was much more comfortable.
For those who aren't sure which k'tan to get, I would say active for sure! It's the one we got and I read on my local baby wearing group that it's honestly the "cooler" option because the mesh goes all the way around and not just in the front for baby. So as kbrands said, it just makes more sense for everyone.
Size wise, I went xs and I still feel it's a tad big for me, but I'm very petite (5'0) so I always go as small as possible on these sorts of items. i would probably size down if anything, because we are probably bigger now then we will be later just because of being not far post partum.
Heroes: uppababy vista and Mesa car seat, white noise machine, Mam bottles, pampers swaddlers, A+A swaddles, Moby wrap carrier, swing, pack n play with newborn napper and change pad, skip hop Chelsea diaper bag, sleep sacks with arm holes, microwave sterilizer bags
zeroes: breastfeeding pillow, breastfeeding tank tops
to be decided: ergo carrier (she's still too little for even the infant insert)
when I was pumping: medela PIS pump, pumping bra, target breast milk storage bags
So I got a K'tan to try out for around the house. I have a Mountain buggy Juno for walks but it's too bulky for home use. I got the size that was suggested which is medium. Mind you I am bordering on large it would seem. This thing kills my back! Lucine slumps down into it after a few minutes and no matter how many times I adjust it or pull that little back loop it starts to sag down in the front. Am I doing this wrong? Is it just because I'm doing the kangaroo carry? I feel like maybe I should have bought a small and these are all indicators that it's too baggy but as a PP size 16 and 34 G boobs I can't imagine that it the correct size. Any K'tan pros who can give advice on what I might be doing wrong?
@Kurrant, not going to lie, but the Ka'tan has always caused some back discomfort, but I think that's because my abdominal muscles are still weak. Make sure you use the second piece, I've noticed alot of women don't, but tightening it up to provide some support to baby's bottom does help somewhat. As my recovery continues, I've noticed the back pain improving. (The Ka'tan sizer suggested a large for me and I have some of the same issues with it becoming baggy.)
Heroes for us: halo sleep sack, boppy, onesies, disposable pee pads to cover changing pads, Britax b agile & b safe car seat and stroller, Tula structured carrier, travel nursing pillow I got on Etsy that fits on your arm, Noggle, glass dr brown bottles edit to add: Gerber soothe probiotic drops, Zantac lol
middle ground (use but not a necessity for us): swing, rock and play, pack and play
zeroes: a&a swaddle blankets, any outfit that isn't a onesie, mittens, ring sling carrier, boba wrap carrier, gripe water, gas drops, literally every pacifier
Heroes: boppy, rock n play, a&a muslin blankets, baby gap onesies, baby bjorn miracle carrier, ktan breeze, uppababy vista stroller, keekaroo changing pad
@saladflambe I hate the Boba wrap and gripe water too. So much happier having switched to a soft structured carrier. Gripe water was useless for my son.
Heros- woombie, gripe water, activity mat, Britax travel system, mattress wedge, crib mobile (wasnt going to get one. Thank god I did as she loves it) "Happiest baby on the block" book which got her to sleep through the night!
zeros- rnp, pnp, swing. Yup my kid is the one in a million that hates her rnp. All baby hats and headbands...nothing fits her head! Swaddleme blankets with the Velcro.
Heroes: Our sidecar bassinet, nipple shields, Similac for Supplementation for when my supply doesn't cut it, Phillips Avent glass bottles (no lingering breast milk or formula smell, yay!), Ingenuity baby swing, Boon grass, Oballs, and a secondhand child's quilt LO uses and loves more than her play mat.
Gah! I am loathing the Carter's owl sound soother & projector. Talk about a MAJOR zero!!! What's really annoying is it totally helps put her to sleep when it decides to work. However, after less than a week it breaks! We've now bougthen two and both do the same thing. It'll play for about a minute, then turn off. I can turn it back on, but each time it dies at that minute mark. Sooo frustrating! We thought it was just the cheapo batteries they give in the box, but we bought some super fancy long lasting ones and it hasn't seemed to really do anything. Again super bummed because it's an adorable sound machine, but not worth it. Maybe I should look into getting a plug in one since maybe it's the fact that it runs on batteries alone that makes it die quicker?

We have a plugin SkipHop one that looks like an owl that we got from Babies R Us. It has different noises (including white noise), a nightlight, and a projector with stars on the ceiling. It seems to work pretty well for LO.
I wish there was a way to quickly see if you had responded to something without having to go through the whole post . . .
Heroes: Boppy pillow! I didn't think it would be as good as it is. It has saved me a lot of back pain. Love to Dream swaddle, Avent nipple shields, Colic Calm, White Noise HD app, Cloud Baby Monitor app, Treasures diapers, Avent Manual breast pump, Mountain Buggy Juno carrier, Mountain Buggy Swift ( light weight but tough ) and K'tan carrier although I think I will need to downsize to a small soon...I am hopeful that as I start to shrink baby will grow just enough so that I don't have to.
Zeroes: Im sure I mentioned this elsewhere but Huggies diapers don't work for Lucy. It was endless blowouts and leaks with those on. Summer Infant Swaddle Me swaddle - she slipped into them with her whole face covered. Motorola digital baby monitor
Heroes: RNP (it was a dud at first but now it's AWESOME). Basic Graco carseat and 3 wheeled stroller we got on clearance at Target. Fisher's Price swing. Swaddleme swaddle. Happy brand wrap. Bum Genius AIOs. Alva pocket diapers. Home made muslin blankets. Tommee Tippie bottles. MAM pacifiers. Backpack diaper bag.
Zeros: Bouncing seat (what a waste). gDiapers (past the newborn size). Original diaper bag (I don't remember the brand but it was big and became bulky. The backpack style is so much easier to get around with). Socks (she hates them). Headbands (they never stay on). Disposable diapers (we tried Up & Up, Pampers, and Huggies size 1 diapers and they were all too wide in the leg. I prefer the customization of our cloth).
