I've noticed several of us are not only pregnant (hehe), but also runners! Whether you run on the treadmill or outside, run "for fun" and never been in a race or are on the path to being an Ultra runner, you're a runner. Can we periodically check-in to learn from and lean on each other for support when times get tough?

Re: Pregnant Runners Unite! GTKY and Check-In
1.) How much did you run per week before your BFP? Lately I've been terrible about running. In 2015 I trained for and ran 2 half marathons, and then was doing anywhere from 1-5 miles after the 2nd half (November) until about March when I basically stopped running completely. But I'm ready to get back to the pavement/treadmill.
2.) Where do you prefer to run? I really don't mind the treadmill for most runs. I don't like it for more than 7 or 8 miles on the treadmill; for those I much prefer to be outside. I also don't like running outside alone, so I end up doing a ton on the treadmill. Luckily my husband is also a runner, so we do a lot of group runs.
3.)How did you fuel before and during a run before BFP? What was your recovery snack/drink after? For long runs, I love Honey Stinger gels. I actually just bought the Shot Blok Margarita chews to try - I always want something salty after a long
3.) How have you noticed your running change at this point after your BFP? Not yet at least. Since I'm just easing back into it, I've been going really slow. More like speed walking.
4.) How much do you run per week at this point in your pregnancy? Last night I did 2.25, which I was proud of.
5.) What changes/accommodations have you had to make to your routine (fuel/recovery/water/breaks/etc)? A lot more water. A lot more water. And like I said, low and slow.
6.) How long do you plan to run? How are you planning on doing so? I'm hoping to be able to do 2-4 miles pretty regularly. Since 4 miles is a distance I haven't done in a while, I'll need to see how I feel and not push myself too hard.
7.) What other questions should be asked to help each other?
** December BMB Siggy Challenge - Animals in Pools **
Me: 31+ H: 32
TTC Since 11/2015
#1 - MMC 6.5 weeks (2/16); #2 - MC due to cystic hygroma at 20 weeks (10/16); #3 CP (2/17); #4 - Due 12.16.17
2.) Where do you prefer to run? Always outside! It doesn't matter what the weather's like, either. I live in the south so I'll run in the extreme heat, the cold in the winter, and my favorite...the rain.
3.)How did you fuel before and during a run before BFP? What was your recovery snack/drink after? I don't really have any go-to things. It honestly changes all the time. As for a recovery snack, I love fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, blueberry waffles, etc.
3.) How have you noticed your running change at this point after your BFP? I'm definitely running a lot slower. I can also tell I don't have the energy level I did before my BFP. Some days have been a real struggle!
4.) How much do you run per week at this point in your pregnancy? 3-5 miles at a time, and probably closer to 20 miles a week. I also don't think I'll aim for a "longer" run over the weekend like I used to.
5.) What changes/accommodations have you had to make to your routine (fuel/recovery/water/breaks/etc)? Living in the south, around 6pm it can be VERY hot. (100!!!) To avoid overheating, I've decided to go back to running in the early morning. Oh, and slower pace:)
6.) How long do you plan to run? How are you planning on doing so? I REALLY hope I can run in some capacity throughout this entire pregnancy. Running has become my therapy! It can turn a really crappy day/mood into a great one. I'm a SAHM and it's really the ONLY time I get completely to myself every day. I look forward to it. If I get to a point where I can't run, I'll walk!!!
7.) What other questions should be asked to help each other?

2.) Where do you prefer to run?
treadmill and races (half marathons)
3.)How did you fuel before and during a run before BFP? What was your recovery snack/drink after?
I make a lot of the Pinterest Muffin Tin things for my kid's meals, so I started doing the Muffin Tin Eggs (I seriously make like 40 at a time and freeze them), and having one of those with spinach/peppers mixed into it on toast with coffee. After my run once I'm at work, I'll have an oatmeal bar. I don't fuel during runs, except for races, and I do Gu.
3.) How have you noticed your running change at this point after your BFP?
Not yet, but once I hit 12 weeks last time, I had to scale WAY back due to awful hip/groin pain. It took nearly a year PP to go away, and I'm hoping it doesn't come back, but I'm on the lookout for it.
4.) How much do you run per week at this point in your pregnancy?

5.) What changes/accommodations have you had to make to your routine (fuel/recovery/water/breaks/etc)?
Nothing yet.
6.) How long do you plan to run? How are you planning on doing so?
I plan on running until I can't.
7.) What other questions should be asked to help each other?
You might want to throw around discussion on belly support belts. I wore a few during the last pregnancy, but forget what they were.

Thank you all for your comments! It's so good to see others in the same boat who enjoy running. I realized I hadn't answer d my own questions, so here it goes!
1.) How much did you run per week before your BFP?
20 -25 miles; I used to just run for fun and as a stress reliever but now it's that and I've added half marathons in the mix.
2.) Where do you prefer to run?
The treadmill was my true love for years until I began training for my first half. Now that I've been running outside for a few years, I dread the treadmill for long runs, but appreciate the flexibility it gives me on days I can't leave the house (I have a DS who hates running with me in a jogging stroller.)
3.)How did you fuel before and during a run before BFP? What was your recovery snack/drink after?
I do use fuel for runs longer than 60 min. I used Gu for the longest time but recently switched to shot blocks to try something new. I think I like Gu slightly better; easier to use mid-run.
3.) How have you noticed your running change at this point after your BFP?
Not not until yesterday!! Guys, I've been running with my running partner for months and we always do 9 miles in 90 min or less because we talk the whole time. Pretty laid back. Yesterday? Literally felt like I'd never run before. My legs fatigued SO. FAST. And my breathing was stupid out of control. It's partially my fault; he knows I'm pregnant but I kept saying I was fine and the pace was fine. It was not - I was in total denial that my blueberry-sized embryo could affect me like that! I had to stop for water every 1.5 miles, which I never need to do. This never happened with DS, but I was only running 3-5 miles at a time with him.
4.) How much do you run per week at this point in your pregnancy?
Still 20 - 25 this week, but nervous for next week.
5.) What changes/accommodations have you had to make to your routine (fuel/recovery/water/breaks/etc)?
I think I need slow down and take my breaks as I need to. Which also means being honest with my running partner about my needs. :-/
6.) How long do you plan to run? How are you planning on doing so?
I would like to keep my current distances for as long as possible! With DS, I had to stop because the urge to pee was so strong every 3 minutes or so by 5 - 6 months. I do plan on gettin s support belt this time to curtail that urge, so I love PP's idea of adding that as a question. I have a half I want to do Oct. 1st, so that's my current "short term" goal!
LMK.
