Update ladies:. Check out the birth announcement for the story but I promise there is a beautiful ending to the false labor in sight. After I relaxed for a while and the midwife office downstairs opened for the day, all the midwives took turns coming up to see what little baby has been causing mama to be "in labor" for four weeks and almost was born in a toilet! Lol beware those quick labors and TRUST YOUR GUT!!!
this happened to me last Sunday at 37 +3 weeks for 12 hours straight. Even laying down wasn't helping. Only thing to work was drinking alot of water. I've had alot of braxton hicks this pregnancy. Ready to meet our little guy!
I'm starting to think I'm experiencing this now too. I didn't have real contractions with my first until my water broke and I was at the hospital so it's all new to me.
Yesterday evening while making dinner I was cramping, kept taking breaks to sit down and it would feel better. Then eventually even when sitting I was in pain, but nothing consistent. I moved around to try and make them stop, but nothing really helped. I went to bed, figuring they would stop like they did last time, but I was up at 1:30 am in terrible pain. I got up, peed and then walked around the living room for awhile. I even called L&D but they wouldn't even talk to me, said I had to call my OB's office. I couldn't find the number and the pain had gone, so I just went back to bed. Woke up again at 5 with a bit less intense pain again. Now it's after 10am and I'm just having a few BH and very light contractions (I think). Baby girl is still moving around lots and no sign of mucus plug or leaking fluid. I've got an appt today and she's going to check my cervix so we'll see if that tells us anything though I know it can mean nothing too.
At least I know there will be an end in sight...eventually lol
I've been having pretty strong contractions every day for the past couple weeks. Some days there's like 5-6, other days less. They never get to the full blown "this is labor and I can't talk" stage, but they're not comfortable. This didn't happen with DS and I'm kind of over it. Today I woke up with a really strong one around 4:30 am, thought "is this it?!" And then just had some mild ones since, but of course I couldn't go back to sleep so now I'm even more tired. I just want to get this over with, but I'm not even to my due date yet!
AHHHHH!!! Been having BH's for a few weeks, today after dinner I walked around the park and had BILLIONS of semi painful contractions. Got home and they slowed down. Right now I'm lying on my left and drinking water and they're almost non-existent. But if I went to the bathroom I'd have a few contractions, including one immediately upon standing. Last Tuesday doctor said I was at 2cm. Tomorrow's my due date. I'd love it if this sweet boy came on his due date! His big brother was a week late. But at least when they're late the hospital won't turn you away. (At least mine didn't.)
I could ramble more, but I think that sufficiently covers my frustrations for now.
Been having BH's for weeks! I walk 3.5 miles everyday to try to get my body ready for labor... But at 38+6 I was still high, closed and thick. In my doctors exact words "your kid's head is wayyyy up there".
AHHHHHHH!!!! Sunday I went for a walk and had to stop every four minutes for a four minute contraction. It was asinine! They went away when I sat down. All night though I had contractions three minutes-ten minutes apart. They were painful too! So at 5:30 I woke up hubs and we went to L&D. They slowed down and just about stopped when we got there. (It's an hour away.) Frustrated!!!!!! L&D ended up turning us away. Doc today set up an induction date for exactly 41 weeks. Hoping baby comes before then. How are you ladies hanging in there?
I've been having what I assumed were just "stronger" BH contractions all day on Momday. Then Monday night they started to get painful but were 8-10 min. Apart. Now it's 3:45am and this shit hurts!!!!! I can't sleep. I'm hoping these are real contractions and I'm not just being a pussy -- they're anywhere from 5-8 minutes apart and last almost a minute each.
Checked into the hospital at 7am because contractions were 5 minutes apart and painful. Nurse checked me and I am 7cm already! Thank God cuz it hurts! Going to try and stay med free but we shall see! Baby Ethan will definitely be arriving today!

Wishing you and the baby a smooth and healthy delivery

Congrats! Hoping for a smooth (& med free delivery) for you!
I think I finally understand how much this sucks, though I'm not sure I actually have prodromal labor, it might be more imaginary labor... I've been having really strong BH contractions for weeks now, which I can tell are not real. But, sometimes, like last night, if there is a little discomfort with them, or I have stomach pain too, it's really hard to tell if they are legitimate. I timed them from 3-4 am last night and they were consistently 10 min apart, but alas, I woke up still pregnant and they don't seem to have gone anywhere.. so, I'm at work again.
Very nervous because I was dialated to "almost a 4" on Friday at the doctor and she thinks labor will move very quickly for me. I feel like a ticking time bomb and, despite having no trouble distinguishing real labor with my last two, I seem to keep getting mixed signals with this one... still hoping it will be as clear as I expect it to be, when it happens. Due tomorrow!!
What a night. At 41 +1 weeks mild regular contractions throughout the evening. At midnight, my water broke, and contractions stopped!!! Really! How much more of this I need to take. Called the hospital, they said to come to monitor the baby and check that it indeed was amniotic fluid so they can get the clock ticking as they need to induce 36 hours later because of the risk of infection. Turns out baby is fine and they could not trace the amniotic fluid saying it was probably my urine. This is my third baby, I know the difference!
