I live in Phoenix too. I'm a native and have lived here my whole life with the exception of college - lived 2 hours south in Tucson. We love it here (this time of year I just have to remind myself you can't shovel sunshine!).
Houston! Originally from a TX gulf coast town not too far from here, moved across the country several times most of my childhood and teen years. Moved back to tx 9 years ago and probably won't leave any time soon.
I grew up in the East SF bay area, lived in San Francisco during undergrad, and then moved right back to the East Bay. I love the diversity of people, food, and things to do here, but it's getting so crowded. We rent now, but I'd love to buy and move to the slightly further East Bay, but the housing market is fiercely competitive all around here and we, unfortunately, do not have $1m cash on hand. I would love to move further north in California, but worry about lack of diversity in most areas as I will be raising a multiethnic kid.
I grew up on the northwest side of Illinois then went to college at NIU (go huskies). I met my husband there so I now live just north of the area. Ideally, we will move soon, but I think it is part of a 5 year plan at this point.
I am living in Calgary, Alberta! Are there any other Canadians in this group?
I'm from Medicine Hat, Alberta! Grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, moved out here 5 years ago after meeting my boyfriend in Australia!
Omg Hamilton!! Did see you what the heck is happening there? The home prices have skyrocketed and it's unrecognizable! Condos everywhere!! Every since they worked on the transit system and GO train line. I loved and still love Hamilton!! But GO Alberta!! Another great place to live!
I'm from Victoria BC Canada. I've lived here my whole life
Ah I'm so jealous!! Victoria!! You are so lucky I was suppose to move out there bc one of our friends made the move a year before and she was like "come on over." A month before the move I met the husband fell head over heels and moved to South California.
Down outside Montgomery. I was born in Missouri, but moved when I was 6. Been here ever since and don't plan on moving, unless I win the lotto, then my preggo butt is moving to the mountains of NC!

Same here, @aishmc! We love the Bay Area (went to school in the East Bay and moved to the Peninsula for work) and would love to stay, but the housing market is out of control. I keep thinking that this would be a really fun place to raise a family, but we might get squeezed out. Best of luck to you!!
I grew up in LA but moved to the Sacramento area for college. I'm now in the North Bay. We have no plans of moving. We bought a house two years ago when I was 8 months pregnant and plan on continuing to make it our forever home.
I grew up in the Northeast of England then my family moved to Orlando, FL and have been here for the past 20+ years. I love it here; it's always been an amazing community and even more so after the events of the past week. Now that DH has finally gotten a job (Happy Dance!), we intend to stay in the central FL area.
@LBLQ84, DH and I honeymooned in Calgary/Canmore last January and fell in love with the area! We are trying to plan a summer trip there in the next few years. It's one of my favorite places in the world

@underthesea PNW represent! I'm in Washington State, just east of Seattle. Grew up about an hour south of here, but moved up here for college, met my husband, and we stuck. We may be moving about 4 hours away to be closer to DHs parents. Plus living expenses are waaay less there, but who knows. Our lease isn't up until September so we have a little time to play with the idea.
I was born in Houston, Texas but my family moved to Denver, Colorado when I was about 10 years old. I never left and have bounced all over the state as an adult (Boulder, Westminster, Longmont, Aurora) and went to college in CO too, where I met DH.
DH and I bought a house about 2 years ago when things were getting crazy but were still stable enough. So glad we took the plunge. Our home value has risen a lot since purchasing and is still on the rise. It's such a crazy market. We won't be moving until we can afford a home on the western slope or somewhere in the Dillon/Frisco area. As much as we both love the east coast (total history buffs), I don't think we could ever leave CO.
I grew up in Colorado but moved to Utah for college, which is where I met my husband. Now we live in Northern Utah. I'd love to move back to Colorado but we just can't afford the housing market there at this point. My DH is from Idaho so I suspect we'll end up there before we end up in Colorado
I am originally from the Twin Cities, MN but went to Iowa State and now live in the Des Moines, IA area. We love our house and where we live now but my husband is currently job searching around Des Moines but also in Wisconsin and Minnesota, so we may be moving sometime in the next year!
I was born in Annapolis, Maryland and lived there for 10 years, then my family moved to Tucson, Arizona. After some time in Flagstaff at college I ended up working in Alaska for the summer with my BF at the time, he was born and raised here. I ended up back in AZ for one last school year and we ended up engaged and I officially moved up to Girdwood, Alaska now we are in Anchorage for a few more years until we head somewhere else. We have been thinking North Carolina, or possibly Hawaii, we might stay here but it's a toss up.
Oh, I'll probably never leave Alabama. I lived in OK once, but that just made me miss AL that much more. Unless I win the lottery.... Then it's Alaska or bust for me!!
I live and was raised in Eastern PA. I went to college in upstate NY and lived outside of DC in Northern VA for 5 years. Came back "home" to start the family and settle down
We moved to Bend, OR four months ago. I grew up on a island about 90 miles north of Seattle and then spent 8 years in Seattle. I lived overseas (6 continents) for five years, then moved back home to the good ol' PNW three years ago. My husband and I met in Bellingham, WA (near the Canadian border). He's originally from Utah but also lived in various countries. We are LOVING Central Oregon, but I will always be an island girl.
I grew up in Western Michigan. I met my husband on vacation in Las Vegas ( he was born and raised there) and he moved to MI for 5 years before we moved to upstate South Carolina two years ago. I love the warmer weather but consider moving back to MI once our oldest starts school (she's almost 2). I don't miss the cold but would love to be closer to family.
We live in Buffalo, NY. We are hoping to move into a house from our apartment since we have some issues here, ( our apartment isn't very baby friendly). When we move, I am hoping to move south of the city. but I have lived in Miami, Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach for a spell. I love living up North, though
I hadn't, but when I looked it up, we are pretty close, just a bit east of there. I have never lived this far south west, so I am slowly learning the area. :-)
