@NamelessAria Agreed about people going to pieces over celebrity deaths. Prince's death is a loss to music, sure, but the people posting photos of themselves with tears running down their faces was just AW'ng.
My FFFC that may be flamed: I have no sympathy for the kid who was killed by the alligator in Florida. That is, I'm not shocked and saddened that a kid was grabbed by an alligator in Florida. It's Florida. Alligators are everywhere. I don't know why it was national news, and when they showed the press conference on my local news the next morning, getting "updates" on the situation, I was pissed that it was taking away time from real news. Especially because the "update" could only be that they can confirm he's dead because he was grabbed by a freaking alligator. It's sad (for his family) that he died. It's a terrible accident. But is it worth all this attention? No. Every time I see another story I get rage. And here I am promoting it myself. Dammit.

*possible TW My FFFC is the woman in the waiting room this morning. I had my annual gyno appointment and also to discuss all the bfns this week that followed 4 bfps. I was thinking I was having a CP so wanted to get blood drawn (waiting on the results). The majority of women in the waiting room were already ku already was a total downer for me. But there was this one particular woman who was super preggers. I'm sure you all have ran into or known those types of people that have to talk at the top of their lungs so everyone in the room can hear them and for the attention. Yeah, well that's how she was. She had sonogram pictures taken at her last appt and she was waving them around (literally waving them I'm not exaggerating) and talking super loud as if it was her first time getting them (I heard her say she got them done at her last appt). I totally understand that she's excited but come one like some woman in there like me are struggling to ttc and not quite as lucky as you. It was a little insensitive. Then the icing on the cake was when she scanned the entire room and looked at everyone, including me, and said, ''I wonder how many other people are pregnant in here!?!'' I looked at her like.... FFFC rant over! Total bummer way to start off a Friday!
@eggplantface I think it was national news because of the circumstances and the outcome. Yes, alligators are everywhere in Florida, and being a Florida native, we are taught from a super early age that any body of water probably has a few in it so be careful and steer clear. But this family was visiting Disney from out of state. And it was on disney property, where people probably assume there is zero chance of danger lurking around. And the poor toddler's father tried to save him from the gator. And believe it or not, people being actually killed by alligators here isn't super duper common. Who knows how or why the news is picked, but I still feel for the family. I can't imagine being in their shoes. We've had the week from hell here in C. FL.

@eggplantface It's an app that you can install on your phone so that you can send gifs easily in text messages and other apps. I have found the only way to get it to work on TB app is to save the gif and upload it. Otherwise it's just a copy and paste function for texts.
Also, my mom confirmed that she did receive my app gif that said "hi mom!". She wasn't as impressed as I was.
Alsoalso, (another FCCC) I have TB open on my computer and then reached for my phone where I immediately opened up TB app. I may have a problem.

Its like the emoji keyboard, where it gives you a bunch of cute little emojis, but with gifs. Thanks to @linzrunz a gif is now mandatory on any text I send. HAHA!
Omg I need that gif keyboard in my life. So gonna harass my husband while he is stuck in a class bored for work.
@eggplantface I agree with you. Even before I met my husband (Florida native) I knew to be wary of any water in Florida because I knew alligators are ambush predators and they can easily hide in shallow water. I still feel horrible for the family, and I try to understand not everyone knows about animals or the habitats of where they are visiting. But it was preventable... Some people keep mentioning the signs only say no swimming, but honestly I've seen no swimming and no entering used the same. Because there are also places in Florida that have that flesh eating bacteria and that is terrifying.
I guess my FFFC is I hate living in Hawaii. I've been here since I got stationed here in the Navy in 2011 and now that I am out I'm waiting for my husband who is still in to get new orders. It's beautiful out here, but it is so expensive. Also haven't been back to the mainland since we got married in 2012 (woot Disney Cruise wedding). I miss road trips, comic conventions, Ren faires, and the seasons changing. I also feel bad because my parents get ready eyed every time we do skype since they feel like they are missing out on seeing their first and only grandchild. So I feel guilty about that.
My FFFC is I think it's awful that people have no sympathy for the 2 year old boy that was killed by the alligator or for his family. It's so easy to point fingers and say it could have been prevented, but it could of happened to any child. An article said there were pools near by, plenty of kids walking in or around the water/beach area, many people did not suspect alligators were in the water. Sure, one could say "you should of known better" and I personally wouldn't go near that water, but it's still very terrible that a little innocent boy was killed. I'm glad it's getting the national attention because it's causing Disney and other places to put up better signage and hopefully prevent future accidents.
This hits close to home because the family use to live in my neighborhood, but moved to a nearby neighborhood a couple years ago. There are blue ribbons everywhere around our neighborhoods to show support of the family. I don't even have a child yet, but it just broke my heart driving around our area today, just thinking about if it were me coming back home from vacation without my child.
@Megzb510 and @PepperAT That just gave me serious anxiety. DH is the same way, I can't deal.
I actually said the sentence "Get off the bed, dog, momma wants the D" this week. Out loud, to our dog, in front of DH. At least it worked, D was obtained.
I was sitting on the couch watching a free movie on YouTube and eating a cookie dough blizzard, then DH plops down, turns on the tv and asks, "So what do you want to watch?"
Me: Uhhhhhhh..... In my head: I was actually really enjoying myself, thank you
