Any other Adoptive or Foster Moms in here?

I am a first time mom who just got placement for a foster to adopt baby from the county. We just got a call on Monday for pick up of our little boy that afternoon. Besides only having minimal basics for the baby we were completely surprised that we were called. This doesn't happen as often as the movies like to let you imagine. Right now we are trying to figure out how everything is going to work out as we have didn't have time to tie up the lose ends as we didn't know when he would be here. 

Anyone else in the same situation?

    We didn't adopt a baby but we accepted foster placement for a sibling group of 3 (all elementary school age) and adopted them almost 2 years ago! I know each state is different but we are in PA if you have any logistical questions. Good luck! You will do great and figure everything out as you go just like every other FTM!

    I'm not in that situation but good luck & congratulations!!  You'll be fine.  No one is ever truly prepared - well, I'm not, anyway.  But it all works out:)

    We are adopting!  Our little girl was born on June 15th and is still in the NICU at this point but doing well.  We know the birth parents and it's a direct placement so we are in a little different scenario but the legalities are all the same.  What state do you live in?  Are you working with an agency or just an attorney?

    January 2014 ~ IVF/ICSI & PGS ~ no response to stims ~ converted to IUI ~ BFN
    February 2014 ~ On to donor embyros ~ 5 blasts!!! 
    March 2014 ~ FET #1 ~ Transferred 2 blasts ~ BFN
    July 2014 ~ Kliman's mock cycle with endometrial function test
    Sample too small for EFT, HE slide showed immature cells
    New protocol planned, saving for another biopsy for EFT
    January 2015 ~ Considering adoption options
    April 2015 ~ Privately arranged adoption of planned pregnancy
    DD#1 ~ Lillyana Violet Marie born 6/15/16, Finalized adoption 12/20/16
    July 13, 2018 ~ BFP....WTF?!?!
    7/16 Beta #1 ~ 466...7/18 Beta #2 ~ 1,077...7/23 Beta #3 ~ 5,291
    7/23 US #1 ~ 1 gestational sac seen and yolk sac
    7/30 US #2 and 1st OB appt ~ 1 perfectly round gestational sac, 1 perfect yolk sac and 1 teeny tiny heart beat seen!!!

    Lurking from July!  We adopted our 1st child and we had about a week to prepare for his arrival!  We knew the BM and unfortunately are just now in the wrapping up of his adoption (2years later).  Happy to help anyway I can!

    We are adopting from the social services in our county in California.

    I got about 4 hours notice that I need to pick him up from the hospital. It has been a big change in our lives.
