Struggling extreme tiredness

I am currently 9 1/2 weeks pregnant and really struggling extreme tiredness at the moment, I work full time at a nursing home as an office manager. I'm finding it really difficult to get through the day, all I want to do is go home and sleep, just feel like crying constantly as well, I also have no appetite although I do get very very hungry, as soon as I eat I feel sick. Any tips?

With the first two kids(boys) I was a stay at home mom, with my daughter I work full time(same job) but I don't remember feeling like this at all. I don't know what the heck is wrong with me this time around.

  • I'm so sorry. I was this way with my last pregnancy. Worked full time, as soon as I got home with the kids I would sit on the couch and cry until DH got home then I would apologize to him and go to bed at 6pm every night. It was awful! Praying for you that this does not last too long!!

  • Ugh I am so tired as well. I'm an attorney and work at a union. I do okay in the morning, but around 2:45 I usually feel so tired that all I can envision is my couch and I go to sleep super early every night. I'm 7 weeks, 6 days pregnant. I hope this goes away soon. I also have no appetite and force myself to eat. My doctor suggested Ensure to help with it. Good luck mamas!
  • I completely understand this one. My last pregnancy was a hard one, but I don't remember being this tired all the time. I started falling asleep at my desk yesterday. And it gets worse since I have 2 jobs so buy the time I get home from the first, get the baby in bed, the last thing I want to do is work on my home business. But it's only 12 weeks right? I'm looking forward to the 2nd trimester.
  • I am also extremely tired! Fatigue has really been my only symptom so far throughout this entire pregnancy. I'm not complaining that I don't feel sick, but I am over feeling so tired. I need to go to the gym to exercise because my appetite is CRAZY and I'm always hungry/eating a lot, but when I get home from a full day of work, all I want to do is sit on the couch/sleep. Sigh. I only have a little over 4 more weeks until 2nd tri....

  • @kellybean1988 My biggest symptom is fatigue as well. I sleep about one day every weekend, and take a nap every day I'm not working. I am exercising still, but at times its only because I have a standing arrangement that would look odd if I didn't follow through...

  • @Mylitta  I definitely take a nap both days on the weekend. Somehow I manage to stay awake until about 9pm each night when I get home from work around 5:30, but  I think it's because I eat dinner as soon as I get home and so I get a little extra energy from that.

Nap and make sure you're getting enough iron.
  • Yep. So tired here too. The meds I'm on definitely make it worse but I need to take them so i don't throw up. It's a trade off. I try to nap when my 20 month old does, but she has been fighting naps recently. I just have to make it through the day.
