Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread 6/13/16

  • Anyone else experiencing back pain after sleeping?  It's only after laying down for a few hours, and it feels like my whole spine starts to pinch.  It goes away once I'm up and moving around.

  • @bnsmith85 my protein was elevated at 22.8 (and 480.9 24-hr calculated) in March but I haven't been retested yet. On my labwork reference ranges it said 0-15 and my endocrinologist was ready to send me to a nephrologist but MFM was not as concerned, and just said it can happen during pregnancy and they'll retest at 28 weeks to see if it increased. Fx for both of us that even slightly high levels just need to be monitored and stay where they're at!
  • @AgentCarter @ibabyloveb87 I haven't had any anxiety issues since 2010, so it kind of caught me off guard, especially over something so seemingly trivial! I'm just chalking it up to the insanity of yesterday prior to that moment. I just ended up leaving the house early and driving slow to relax. Walking sounds amazing, when it isn't 95° outside and you don't have three children to tote along with you. I feel great today though!
  • I'm wearing a real bra today (vs. my usual bralette aka fancy sports bra). My boobs look better but my right one is killing me. It must be the bra. I may not make it through the day.

  • I can see him move from the outside of my stomach now  :| This will never NOT make me feel like I'm hosting an alien parasite!
  • the diarrhea is cray today. like pretty sure whoever caught me in the bathroom thought I was just going number 1...THATS THE LEAST GRAPHIC I COULD MAKE THIS.
  • Is the lack of motivation to do any work a symptom?? It should be.

Oh the butt cramps!  They are worse at night when I lay down. Also I have the hardest time sleeping at night. It was 2am by the time I got to sleep last night. I am dragging all day!

On a positive note, this boy has some crazy strong kicks!  My husband was able to feel him kicking for the first time last night. He was giggling and it was so sweet  <3

hey thanks for the response! I emailed my MFM and the RN said the same to me about it... that it just happens sometimes and that my level was really low and not a concern at this point.

  • Forget 9 months, how is that going to work PP?? I'm scared of just sitting on a toilet after giving birth  :s

Yes this!  How is that gonna work @kmolleltz?  Do you have bed pans over there???
  • I'm usually the person that's cold all of the time, but lately I've been thinking it's way hotter than usual in my office!  But now I'm realizing it's just me... apparently I'm officially in the "hot all the time" stage of pregnancy.  Just in time for summer...

I dont know! haha. But if its the norm (to have a squat toilet) for 95% of the population, it's gotta work somehow right?
    @mrszoess @AllyTheKid @annabenanna

ETA: The more I read about worries/concerns bascially everything says the full squat toilet (Indian style) helps prepare you MORE for natural pregnancy. So maybe it's a good thing? Hah

  • @Schell2013 .... I was feeling the same about a week or two ago! I've finally gotten off my a** and started getting things done. Not quite to my normal level, but improved from my laziness before. I feel like I can only use pregnancy as an excuse for so long before I start getting the side eye from DH over it haha... so I got myself together so he doesn't think I'm completely ridiculous :)

Oh no @MRSCORKER... I know a lot of folks try to stay away from meds, but Zantac helps when mine is that bad.

I might try that next time. It took 6 tums for me to be able to go back to sleep.

They make us squat in prenatal yoga so I'm sure it does. Also squatting is natural and there are studies it's easier to evacuate the bowels in that position. I am tall so I get to pseudo squat by going on my tip toes, or putting a step stool in front of the toilet. I want squat toilets, but since I live in the USA it would be impossible to sell my house if I installed them. Sigh...

Yes! When I read about the squatting my first thought was that my yoga instructor would love that!
  • Yet my doctor told me to avoid doing squats with workouts....what the heck?!

I think there is a difference between squats, as in to strengthen leg muscles, and squatting like a poo. In yoga it's basically just a stretch she makes us do, there's no muscle work involved. I think the workout type squat, your feet are directly under your knees, whereas with potty squat they are directly under your butt. I don't know though...just my guess. My doctor has has no opinions on squatting.

@MRSCORKER, sorry about the heartburn.  I'm so familiar with that too!  I've been woken 3x in the past with that awful heartburn, and the last time it happened my tummy was also super painful.  My doc said to keep Zantac on hand.  Haven't had to drink it yet, but I have it in my purse and on my nightstand for just in case!
  • @annabenanna that just made me LOL
  • @bnsmith85 I hope I find some motivation soon too!

Yeah, initially it was really hard to get used to but now I definetely prefer it. We are building are house now and all my expat friends are like "are you putting in a real toilet or....?" and I'm like NOPE! Sticking with the squatter. Plus they are way easier to keep clean!

  • I want a platform under my toilet that can be electronically raised to any height so it can be full squat, partial squat, or regular. That would be cool.

When they installed a new toilet in our master bath recently, they put in an especially tall model. I don't even use that bathroom much because I feel I don't void as well with it being a little high. And I'm actually a tall person, too. I think if I were like, 5'2" or something, my feet would dangle.

  • I had one tiny bit of pink spotting today and I lost my shit. haven't since and this baby is kicking me hard
