  • Went for another 24 creatnine clearance for my kidneys and the girl taking it insisted I didn't need blood drawn also. I'm not a phlebotomist but I knew it from years of kidney testing. She finally checked and believed me. It's too early to argue! I also had to leave my house at 6:30am to get to the lab by my job so I could get to work on time. I'm already tired!

Disclaimer: I am 100% not one of those special snowflake people that makes everything about their pregnancy. Generally I don't even bring it up unless someone else does. With that said.........

Everyone in my office knew I was going for the anatomy scan this weekend. Every single person (it's a small office) excitedly asked me how it went this morning EXCEPT my boss. She also never asks anyone how their weekend or holiday was so I shouldn't totally be surprised, but come on!
  • Just...so...tired. I want to bitch about being tired, but I'm too tired to do that.
  • I want to bitch about allergies! Woke up with crusty eyes this morning and now they're irritated, itchy, and blurry. I spend my days looking at cells and fluids under a microscope ALL DAY LONG...... kill me now.
  • I'm going to bitch about work because I am still drained today. I picked up a shift to ensure I could get tomorrow off for my appointment with MFM and it was an 11 hour shift. No big deal, I used to work 11-12.5 hours all the time but since being pregnant my hours have been reduced to 6 hour shifts.. Half way through this 11 hour shift I wanted to die, I had no energy and I was hot flashing like crazy. In my job I am on my feet for the  whole 11 hours besides one 30 min break I ended up grabbing a chair and sitting majority of the time because my feet were killing. Kudos to the ladies on here who are still pulling high hour shifts during this time, you guys are awesome. (just realized this would probably qualify as a petty problem :P)

I am insanely mad at this asshat at work who constantly thinks he's in competition with me. I changed jobs recently, and this guy questions everything I do in a really rude and condescending manner. Keep in mind that we don't even do the same thing so I am not a job threat to him!! I'm a CPA and he's a lawyer. There is no reason for him to look at anything I'm doing, and we are supposed to work as a team. He commented that I came from a big accounting firm, and they wouldn't even interview him. I'm really sorry to hear that, but I had nothing to do with it and there is zero reason to take it out on me.

This morning I have had it with him as he was saying I was wrong...OK, I sent him a link to the IRS code section showing him the rule that proved I wasn't wrong... He wrote back saying that he still doesn't agree and I need to provide more evidence. Wtf. This guy is not my boss. Fast forward 30 min and he called me to tell me I'm wrong, and started getting really loud and rude on the phone. I told him to calm down and call me back when he can talk to me professionally, and hung up on him. I think it's time to talk to my boss about this guy, but I am new so don't want to create waves....ugh ugh ugh.

    End rant.

Half of my team called out "sick" today; more like the Sunday Funday hangover, so I'm doing double the work on 4 hours of sleep!
  • I'm also bitching about work this morning. My coworker sent an email to the larger team this morning asking for certain documents and asked them to send them to me to load to our library. Ummmmmmm, WHAT?!?! I'm not the admin (we don't have one just for our team) and you're not my boss. Maybe my boss had told her to have me load them in a side conversation, but it seriously rubbed me the wrong way. People can't load their own documents?! Your title is one above mine; we report to the same VP. This annoys me when I'm not pregnant, but now it's on a whole new level. She's the only one that does it and it takes all my willpower to not forward it to my boss and be like "WTF?!"

  • Somebody failed to replace the roll of T.P. and I failed to notice until AFTER I already dropped a deuce. Time to do the T.P. shuffle.
  • My RLP is out of control. My hips and my ass are killing me. I went for a prenatal massage and it helped for 2 days now the pain is back again. I bought a heating pad on Amazon so I'm hoping that helps. I'm also super emotional and have been crying for days. So over it. I told my husband that this is quite possibly our last child because fuck this.

I bought the cutest silk maternity shirt at a consignment shop & am wearing it for the first time today. Now I remember why I don't own silk shirts...silk + Texas humidity = big ol' sweaty armpits. Eww. All the deodorant in the world wouldn't fix this.

WTF coworkers, do your goddamned job! I discovered Sunday morning that one of my clients hadn't had her meds in THREE DAYS. The way I discovered it? The client called her son and told him who in-turn screamed at me. My one coworker from Saturday said that she got so busy with other clients that she just forgot about her. I'm furious and hoping my supervisor makes heads roll.

ETA: 1) They're nighttime meds and I only work 8am-1pm Sat/Sun so not my responsibility to give them. 2) They're psychiatric meds 3) I had to call the consulting nurse line to find out how to restart the meds or if she needed to go to the hospital or what

  • FI didn't tell me that he used the last roll of toilet paper before he went to work this morning. I went to three different stores this morning that sell it and could have picked some up if he would have told me. But instead I had to use baby wipes because I didn't know.

  • I just ate an entire 12 inch sub and now I wanna vom. why does my body do this shit?
  • We got new carpet installed today (yay) but they're not totally done and need to come back tomorrow to finish.
1- can't you just work a normal work day like the rest of us and finish the 2 rooms in the downstairs with carpet today instead of uprooting my life and dogs again tomorrow? They left at 2 and didn't even arrive until 10am. The carpet guy said it was so they didn't have to kill themselves on a Monday. ::rolling eyes::
2- DH wants to put the house back together where we can, getting furniture back on the new carpet and such but I just want to pick out our glider/recliner for the nursery and go order it today.... that sounds like so much more fun than moving furniture around the house.
  • @annabenanna Oh, I feel you! I've been helping my parents clean their garage every weekend, and I'm just like... can I please have a few weekends to make MY home look pretty? Please?

@TurtleMomma How horrible! I would be super pissed too! It's so frustrating when your coworkers are the ones responsible for certain things, but you're the one getting screamed at.

  • My in-laws have been looking for a place in our city so they can visit more often without imposing on us when our second child comes.  They finally bought a condo and signed the paperwork this weekend.  Then, last night, our neighbor told us they're going to put their house on the market in the next week.  NOOOO!  My in-laws could have bought that house and we would have had a guest house right next door!  We can't be upset with the neighbors, of course, because they didn't know my in-laws were looking.  Now we'll just have to hope for good neighbors.
  • @ignoscemihi - you may end up being happy you don't have your in-laws next door, just in case they decided to make the move permanent.

  • *Warning - this is long; I'm super annoyed lol*

I told ExH at least 3 times in the last like 2 months that I had to have DD's birthday party on her actual birthday (this Saturday 6/18) because it is literally the only weekend we have open in June/beginning of July (trying to avoid 4th of July weekend since people usually have other plans). Last week I reminded him (because normally that would be one of their days together; he's a cop and works 4 on and 2 off, so it varies from week to week). He acted like we never talked about it before and same with him, that he needs to have her party that day too, and how about we do a joint one? Normally I would have DD's party at my in-laws, and he would have his party for her at his dad's. Both houses have swimming and a swing set and nice backyards.

Problem is, not only are ExH and I not together, both his parents and my parents are split up and remarried/with someone plus children and extra family members, so that makes our families HUGE when you have to put them all together, not to mention my current in-laws. So he says let's call the parks around town and see what they have available, with less than one week to go, during graduation season. Good luck, buddy.

I'm just hoping his dad will let us have the party at his house; I'll even come over early to clean it! I'd usually vote for my in-laws, but the pool needs a light fixed and the whole thing needs painted and we haven't had enough rain-free days to get it done so there's no guarantee there will be water in it. I didn't put aside money for renting any place out, because I kept mentioning it to ExH without any pushback, so I assumed we were fine with the original plan and I wouldn't have to put forth much money.

I just texted him saying all of this in a much nicer manner, and said we need to decide where we're having it, and what time, in the next 24 hours so I can let my side know and get together what I need to get together, and if none of that works for him, I will have my side of the party on 7/2 instead, and he can have this weekend since it's his only Saturday off in 6 weeks. Nothing back yet. We'll see where we land with it all...

tldr: ExH and I need to decide on the where and the what time for DD's birthday party on Saturday, or if we don't have to have a joint party after all. He won't get back to me with anything definitive.

  • @MorganL925 and @MRSCORKER, I know they'll never move here permanently because most of their family lives in the town where they live now.  My sister-in-law had a baby last year and my mother-in-law babysits probably three times a week.  She'd never move away from them.  They'll probably be here for two weeks every two or three months.  The rest of the year, their place will be empty.  It would definitely be too close if they lived there year-round.

I would burn my house down and move to Sri Lanka if my in-laws moved in next door. LOL. You're a saint, more power to you!
Me too! My MIL moved a mile down the road and that's too close. I'm ready to move

haha... we almost had this happen to us. My in-laws were looking at a house IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. Thank God someone with cat-like reflexes put an offer in and they didn't decide to try to jump on it to. I would have died.
  • my father in law owns our house and the one we are building across the street. at least he rings the bell now.
  • I just finally got a chance to call my endocrinologist's office to see if they faxed a prescription request the mail-order Rx company sent Friday when I tried to refill something that needed a new prescription (my doctor never puts refills even though all of the stuff I'm prescribed will be needed forever). The secretary said she got it and asked if they wanted me to fax it back. YES, THATS WHY I REQUESTED IT. Wtf, really??? For some reason this secretary refuses to tell the doctor when requests come in bc she has told me some people have auto-refills and don't actually need the refills yet so they can just wait for their next appt. UM, I am so sick of this woman f-ing adding delays to everything for me (the mail-order pharmacy stuff already takes forever to get), much less for things I rely on daily to try to stay as alive and healthy as possible. And shouldn't it be the exception that someone enrolled in auto-refills and doesn't need the refill yet, rather than assuming that's the case for every request and making this system ineffective for everyone? In the past I have gotten yelled at by the doctor for things that were the secretary's fault that she then covered up and denied. I really don't want to have to change doctors in the middle of a high risk pregnancy so I'm just going to bitch about it for now.
  • My DH has not done dishes since Saturday and I refuse to clean up after his Lazy butt. I cleaned everything else it's one thing I ask of him since my pregnancy eczema is so bad and the dish soap makes it spread, better get his butt in gear before I have a shit fit. If I end up doing it I'll probably punch him it's how angry I am about it I hate a messy kitchen he knows it gives me an anxiety attack just looking at it.

  • I'm just ready to sit in a corner and cry. My bitch is work-related. I've been getting about 10-20 emails a day from students who don't seem to realize that they aren't the only student admitted to school. Most of the emails consist of "Did you get my email?"

I'm the only one issuing documents for our incoming students, and it's overwhelming. Add having to stop working to answer endless "did you get my email? when am i getting my documents?" emails and phone calls, I'm never going to get this stuff done.

I guess work is just prepping me for those days (and years) of impatient toddlers.

  • I am bitching on Tuesday since I was still on vacation yesterday.

My coworker came in and asked how our vacation was. I said it was good and I'm glad we had the ability to take a vacation because who knows when the next one will be. She immediately said "until the nice long one you're getting." I replied that I really wouldn't consider keeping a tiny new human alive a "vacation" and walked away before saying anything I would regret.

This coworker is retiring in March. She's in her mid-60s and chose to not have kids so she and her husband could travel and do what they wanted, which is great if that's what you chose to do with your life, but this is what I'm choosing to do with mine and I don't appreciate your comments about how my maternity leave is going to be a nice little vacation. This isn't the first time she's brought it up either.

Also, if I knew my career was almost done and I was heading into retirement, I sure as hell wouldn't care what anyone else was doing with their time anymore.
