I don't think you've ever really pooped until you've done it with a toddler insisting on sitting on your lap during the act. There is no privacy in motherhood.
I'm all for bathroom time in peace, but I just melt when I see those little fingers under the door. Someone loves me that much that they can't be more than 5 feet from me for a few minutes.
I just noticed the rest of my post got cut off from yesterday.
I had put that Saturday I got a letter from our housing management that they are tenting our housing block for termites at the end of the month and we need to move out for several days. Seriously!? The date on the letter was the 8th, so they timed this letter to arrive on a Saturday when their offices would be closed. We've let our landlord know, and she received a note as well, so she will be calling the office today. I am so pissed. I work from home and am only authorized to work from home. I have vacation time I can use, but I'm really saving it for when baby comes. Thankfully my parents have offered to let us stay at their house, but I am just so pissed that this is happening. I'll be calling the pest company today too, because I have a million questions about this process.

@phoenix870509 That stinks! I hope you get some resolution soon and don't have to take much/any vacation for that mess!
@DiFazette I agree that, while weird and sometimes aggravating, it is awfully sweet that someone loves me enough to watch me poop. We have an email address for DD where we've sent her letters since she was in the womb (she will learn about it and get the password when she's 18), and I've already sent her messages on how much she enjoys being with me during my pooping time. I hope teenage-her enjoys this information.
@LinziLoo09 I love the email address idea! My grandma just pulled out a huge box of family photos last week, and I was thinking how sad it will be that our kids won't have that. They'll have a hard drive of 1,000s of photos to scroll through. I love the idea of the email address as like a digital baby book. Hope you don't mind if I steal it

Shutterfly is a great way to make an actual scrapbook or just to print 100s of pictures. For Christmas last year I made a 0-4 month book of L with 35 pages. It was $250 for 6 copies. We just received our 150 4x6 pictures that was $10 plus like $6 shipping. I really like it because making the books: I picked a layout, put in the pictures, added captions, then ordered. It was super easy and beautiful.

We found out this week my FIL has pancreatic cancer and they've given him about 6 months. My husband and two sons are flying up to see him on Wednesday while I stay with our 4 daughters for almost a week. Camp starts today and I have the worst headache. I just want to go back to bed.
@tinattt23 Go ahead and steal it! We still love the idea, and we've given the email address to grandparents to so they can join in the emails. And I agree with @Kate08Young on printing the photos out. I usually make very nice hardcover photo albums on Blurb once a year. WAY easier than scrolling through digital photos, and we can pull them out whenever we want.
@maamawaabangi I am so sorry to hear about your FIL! Is he seeking treatment or hospice at this time? If he is still in between on that decision, they should ask if the hospital has an outpatient palliative care team. They offer hospice-type holistic pain management services plus psychological and spiritual care, but they don't require you to forego treatment while receiving it like hospice does. I currently work on a palliative care team, and we work with a lot of cancer patients. <hugs>
@LinziLoo09 his doctor said he wouldn't make it through surgery and suggested avoiding chemo or radiation (not sure which) he is in pretty poor health to start with. Thanks for the ideas... Hospice has contacted them and seems to be great, but they don't need it quite yet. He's still walking and functional. And thankfully not in much pain. They see and oncologist in a week to get more definite time lines and treatment for pain. It's just very hard and sad, he's a wonderful and kind person. We've waited to announce because if this all... They don't know about the baby yet. It's very bitter sweet because I'm not sure he'll be here by the time the baby arrives.
@maamawaabangi Definitely check out outpatient palliative care, if it is available in your area. It can help bridge the gap between treatment and hospice. Again, I am so sorry you're going through this. Please PM me if you need to talk.

On the note of shutterfly books: we do a family yearbook every year at Christmas and give one to some family members. We did the same for DD baby book. We usually order 6 or so and add pages so it can get pricey. HOWEVER, we use mycokerewards points to get codes for free 20 page books so that typically knocks $20-30 off each book. Combine it with other offers (like when they do 50% off) and we basically steal these books!
Basically, I highly recommend mycokerewards if you are a shutterfly addict. It saves so much money!

I've used Shutterfly every year, for years, for our Christmas cards and now we used it for DS's birth announcement. I've been wanting to do a book for his first and one for his second year..... I've never heard of mycokerewards!
We drink tons of powerade (and DH drinks lots of diet coke). There are codes on the lids or boxes that you enter in and save up for cool stuff. My whole family basically uses them just for shutterfly lol. It's free to start an account. Slightly a pain to enter in codes, but we've saved probably 1000 bucks over the past few (5 or 6) years!
Also, when you register at target and BBB (and when I bought something at the maternity store), you should get shutterfly gift cards. Sometimes shutterfly is smart and doesn't let me combine it all but those help too!
@maamawaabangi I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL. Do you have anyone around to help you with your girls while your husband and sons are gone? I'll be thinking of you guys.

I'm so sorry. This sounds like such a hard situation at a hard time
Question - I went to a coworkers wedding this weekend. It was gorgeous. The bride was absolutely stunning and the scenery was out of this world. I took a pic of their ceremony and posted it on facebook alongside of a pic of DH and I looking all cleaned up and snazzy at the wedding.
they are a pretty quiet couple and the photo is getting tons of likes by other coworkers and stuff and I'm wondering if there is any chance they may be annoyed I posted the photo? I'm just worried I committed a social faux pas...

Yes! Thankfully my mom and dad are coming down tomorrow to stay (they have a vacation home near us) and they will be a ton of help! So thankful they already had plans to be here! I'm sure I'd survive, but it will make all the difference.
To add on to @sourlemon, Shutterfly also typically has some deal going on themselves. Right now on their homepage they have 'Save up to 50% on Photobooks, 40% photo gifts, 20% Desktop Plaques, 40% Cards and Stationary.'

Shutterfly also often offers free things, but then you have to pay for shipping. I've gotten several personalized notepads, a calendar, a mousepad, address labels, photobooks (usually they only offer the 8x8 photobooks free), magnets, and I can't even think of what else, all for "free", paying only the price of shipping (which is usually around $4-6). Often if you stalk the free deals, they are great for gifts.
@maamawaabangi I am so sorry about your FIL. Cancer sucks. Prayers for your family.

Randoms for today: 1. I'm so disturbed by the child being snatched by an alligator at Disney World. I feel so awful for those parents. 2. I got some of the maternity clothes I ordered and they all seem to fit! Hooray! 3. I had to ride on the crowded train and there were no seats and I felt dizzy and sick. I kind of can't wait until I'm showing and then maybe (?) people will be nice and let me sit?
My close family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma) had/have a bet going since DH and I got married. Closest to the birth date of our first child gets to pick it's family nickname. (They had one for proposal too and winner picked out everyone's socks for the wedding - we turn everything into a competition). Anyway, one of my cousin's is the likely winner, unless this kid comes a few weeks early. NN "Dragon" has begun. And it's already sticking. And my DH thinks it's hilarious. UH OH.
Almost had to go to the ER yesterday. Couldn't keep any food or liquids down. And then poor DH started throwing up, too. Got in to see my OB as an urgent case and she said there were no ketones in my urine sample, but if I still couldn't keep anything down with the new meds she gave me she would admit me. Got home and was able to keep down Gatorade. Then rice. Poor DH started running a fever so I had to take care of him on top of me feeling awful. He thankfully took yesterday and today off, so he's resting now. But man, was it scary yesterday. I really did not want to go to the hospital. On the plus side, got to hear baby's heartbeat and him/her moving around in there. The doctor I saw has been my primary OB/GYN since I was 16, so she was getting a kick out of it too!

@phoenix870509 I'm so sorry for the scare but glad you're feeling better! Stomach issues are never fun to deal with, and when the DH is sick, mom gets to do double-time it seems.
I just noticed that at this moment, I'm the last to comment on like 3 or 4 threads. It made me wonder how fast I would have to comment down the line to get the last word on all of them...even if only for a moment...
We're going out of town this weekend and leaving the dogs at home. My mom is going to come over to feed them and hang out with them a little bit, but it's the first time we're leaving the puppy outside over night... I already feel terrible about it. I hope my little guy will be ok and wont drive the neighbors crazy crying all night!
@LinziLoo09 appreciate it. It was kinda funny because DH was worse off than I was, but I was the one who couldn't keep water or a popsicle down! Still I was able to drive myself to the doctors and home again. When DH gets sick his whole system goes into shock and he becomes useless. He usually never gets sick, but this is the 3rd time this year he's been knocked down by something. I hope this isn't a new trend for him.

I just had a dream that the spawns was squirming so hard on the inside, it was punching outward against my stomach, and I was having to hold it in. It also was jumping around all the inside of my belly, definitely not confined to the uterus. At 12 weeks. Probably a flashback from later stages of pregnancy last time. Oh the contortions!
