I am a teacher, and this is my last week of school! So flipping happy. I don't know what got into my school district this year, but my last day is usually 11-13ish. This year it's the 16th. I'm awake now though, so this means I only have to wake up 3 more times! Amazing!
Dear Vagina, With all the pain you put me through last night and keeping me up, that f**king cervix better be dilated to at least one cm!! Love, the women who is ready to meet her daughter!
Married: August 2012
TTC #1: July 2015
BFP 1: October 30, 2015; EDD: July 6, 2016- Team Pink
My 9 year old daughter leaves for her first ever week long sleep away camp on Sunday. I'm starting to freak out. But distracting myself with lots of fun mail to send her. Any non food suggestions for her care package? So far I've got gum, disposable camera (tbey aren't allowed to have any kind of tech gadgets), pillow case and sharpies her bunk mates can sign, and temporary tattoos.
I'm also including some cards in the box that will be labeled with "open when" to help her through any tough times. My husband and our dog will also be sending her a letter during the week too.
@LDSJM123 my favorite thing to do at camp was make those friendship bracelets, the ones made with the string and you can weave them into cool designs, I think you can buy kits that include everything you need to make them. Also, if she is a reader maybe a book, for those rainy days.
I started listening to Hamilton at work today on youtube, since everyone's been raving about it. It's making my day just a little bit more bearable. I highly recommend it.
Moms who are being induced (and the rest of July BMB!) -
Does anyone have an interest in having a thread for Mom's who are currently (or soon to be) induced? I know we are all rooting for them and anxious to hear good news and updates, so I thought it might be easier to have one place for them to post vs. randoms or daily threads. It would be a place to post progress updates if you feel like sharing, or to ask for some extra good thoughts and prayers!
Hi everyone...I'm super late to the party, but after coming on here a few times just to check in on symptoms and such (to make sure I was "normal", haha), I thought I'd join up so I can perhaps contribute a little in return for all the reassurance you've unknowingly given me over the past few months. I'm a 34yo FTM, expecting a boy sometime around 7/31. Pleased to "meet" all of you!!
I can probably count the number of times I've been to public pools on one hand since I grew up with one at home. Well today we're babysitting my 5yo niece and brought her to the local pool because she's been dying to go for weeks. They put a good bit of money into this pool a few years back, adding a big waterslide and a nice kids area. I haven't been here since everything's been redone, and I do have to say it's nice. But. As soon as I got out of my car, before I even made it 3 steps towards the entrance I hear this little girl (probably like 10 years old, so old enough to know better) shouting "MOMMY! LOOK at that FAT pregnant lady!" while pointing at me. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but come onnn. So now I'm sitting here being THAT pregnant lady who feels too self conscious to take off her shorts and tank.
@hreed7289 that's a fantastic idea...I'm currently in the middle of an induction myself because of pre-e! I would have loved if there were a single thread of other July mamas in the same boat!
On another note...dilated 5cm and hoping to meet my LO soon!
@jjtruffles WTF at 10 years old, I knew better than to scream that out. I agree with everyone else the mom is a twat for not having that child apologize to you. I hope you had a great time in the pool. I went swimming last week and it was fantastic did wonders for my back.

My MIL mentions how fat I've got every time we see her and it really gets to me. Growing a baby isn't being fat and it's one thing for a kid to say it but for adults to say it or not correct their kids saying it is too much
@Nerdchild@Weville I know kids have no filter which is exactly why I should've just let it roll off my back, but I still couldn't help feeling at least a little humiliated hearing her & looking up to see this girl and a group of 4 or 5 adults all staring at me. Also agree that her mom should have corrected her. I did end up getting in the water after about a half hour of sitting in the sun though and it was glorious.
@theshannondee Congratulations on the arrival of your sweet little Elliott!
Planner-using and list-making OCD freaks - has anyone ever used an Erin Condren life planner? I've been trying for years to justify spending $50 on one because I have such a hard time finding ones I like at the store for cheaper. I might take the plunge the next time I get a discount code email.
Also, tonight is officially my last on-call shift scheduled before I take leave. Hopefully ever. 2 interviews on Thursday for jobs with normal schedules. I won't know what to do with myself.
@brandiK - I've never been able to justify the Erin Condren Life Planner, but I want one so bad! If you end up getting one, let me know how you like it. I haven't heard anything bad about them. Also, good luck with your interviews!
@Brittnic531 Same here. I don't think I can at least buy any of the accessories. Planners are getting expensive! And I feel so naked and lost without one. Maybe I'll ask for it as a birthday gift... And thank you!
@brandik I have also been wanting that planner! I love the plum planners and day designers as well. The best substitute I have found so far are the blue sky day designers from Target. They are simpler, but work for me. And much much cheaper! I would suggest maybe checking them out.
The Blue Sky Day Designer is awesome! I had been buying the big original DD for a few years, and I liked the simpler version that Blue Sky put out through Target. It was also $45 cheaper!
@brandiK I have an EC life planner and love it. Yeah it expensive but I've also kinda turned it into a scrapbook. I tried a couple other planners but I never really liked them as much. I also really like all the extras you can get with the Erin Condren planners. Hopefully that helps!
Baby has taken to some kind of evening calisthenics the last few nights. Doing some crazy full body stretching where opposite sides of my bump are repeatedly being stretched and punched, often simultaneously. Not painful, but catch me off guard every time and just feels so weird. Must be getting crowded in there.
@whataboutscience this sounds like me every night with the bump stretching on opposite ends every evening. I do agree it's a weird feeling, but pretty cool to watch too.
@whataboutscience I get that all day long too! It feels like a baby butt in my right side and a foot kicking out to the left. I thought baby was running out of room? Seems like there's plenty of space to stretch out!!

@rnyland1 I just listened to it yesterday! I had been curious about all the hype. Now I get it
