good shade for beach trip

I'm hoping to go to the beach in July and yet stay cool which is difficult there from prior experience. We want to buy a beach umbrella, canopy, or pop up shelter for shade. What's the best option for staying as cool and shaded as possible?

    Umbrella or tent/sun shade. Drink lots of water. Get in the water occasionally to cool off. Look into a rash guard or clothing that is lightweight and offers sun protection. Maybe get one of those battery operated fans that can mist water?

    I live on the gulf coast of Florida, so beach trips are frequent here. I've mainly ever just used a couple beach umbrellas to create shade. Anything that may give you plenty of shade works. I like those things that look like half a tent, if that makes sense? I really want to get one of those. But definitely have plenty of water to drink and get in the water itself occasionally to keep yourself as cool as possible.

    I'm far from a beach pro but an easy up will probably give you the largest area of shade so your full body will be out of the sun.

    We've been rocking the SportBrella since our first DD was born and it has been awesome. You can set it up as a giant umbrella or partial tent and has screened windows that open and close as well as comes with anchors for super windy days. Not to mention the SPF and natural privacy is awesome.

    I bought a beach cabana thing that works great. (Live in Florida and used to live on the beach) it sets up with two tent rods and just stakes into the ground. I also see a lot of people buy bigger canopy things if they have a big group.

    This is what we have, except ours came with an additional side that you could put up depending on where the sun was.  It's really easy to setup and really spacious.  All our friends with kids got this tent once they saw ours.
