Now that we're a few days into June I figure several of us will be working our way past the 40-week milestone. Use this thread to post about symptoms, doctor visits, rants, etc., or just to get some moral support from other overdue moms.
I was due 6/1, no big signs of labor yet. I just had a doctor appointment yesterday where they checked baby's size, heart rate, and amniotic fluid levels. Everything looked good so far, so they aren't pushing for any interventions yet. I'm trying to be patient for my little peanut; I'm just really hoping to avoid induction. Of course, there is still plenty of time before that would be necessary, but now every day that passes makes me a little more nervous.
I was due June 1st. Had 40 week appointment yesterday and they did a cervical check. Turns out I'm already 3-4 cm dilated and 90% effaced. She said it could be any day now which is what I'm praying for. I'm so ready to meet my little boy
I am due Monday but I have a horrible feeling I will be joining you ladies. I wish this baby would come out this weekend so he is older then 9 days old when his dad leaves for a week. I wish babies would cooperate with schedules lol.
I was due 6/1. I had my membrane sweep yesterday (2 cm dilated and 70% effaced) but I'm assuming it didn't do anything (besides make me continuously crampy since then). They also encouraged me to schedule my induction for week 41, which I did. So if this kid doesn't make his appearance before Wednesday, I'll be going in for a 9 pm induction. I feel discouraged because I really didn't want an induction, but I really don't want to be pregnant beyond 41 weeks. Here's hoping he chooses to be ready sooner.
@26pointrunningfor2 I'm curious about the membrane sweep. How uncomfortable was it at the time, and how long did it take? I have a feeling that will come up as an option for me this week. I would prefer to wait it out, but at some point I may rather try a membrane sweep to try to avoid other induction methods. Just trying to plan ahead. I hope your little guy decides to get here on his own before Wednesday!
@annaf2011 I won't lie, it hurt, but it was over within 20 seconds I'd estimate. She also stretched my cervix a little after, which hurt less but was also uncomfortable. I was sore/crampy immediately after, but my doctor told me to go walk around for an hour or so and then take a warm bath to help to relax my cervix. Both the walking and the bath helped with any discomfort. I figured the membrane sweep was no risk-- it either works or it doesn't. Based upon what I've read and heard from others, it seems to work better if you're at least 3 or 4 cm and 70% or greater effaced. My doctor told me at 2 cm, it was a 50/50 chance it would work. I did bleed lightly all day yesterday, and I think it did encourage the loss of some of my mucus plug. If nothing else, I hope the persistent menstrual-like cramps I'm feeling are further dilation and effacement.
I was due 6/2, so only a couple days passed with my first child but still no signs of labor. I'm feeling pretty bummy and disappointed! My doctor wouldn't strip my membranes because I'm GBS+ so I have an appointment on Monday and will schedule an induction (ugh!). I reaaalllyyyy don't want to be induced!
As of midnight tonight I'll be officially in the overdue club, but seeing as I have a Managerial Accounting final that I can't take until midnight this upcoming Wednesday (online course) I'm kind of praying he stays in until next Saturday. My midwife is going to do a membrane sweep at my next appointment, which is Wednesday morning, so if that works I hope it's at least post exam. I really don't want to drag my laptop and textbook to the hospital with me
Oh man with DD, age was born 12 days late via induction. Passing the due date messed with me emotionally. I'm due in 3 weeks, but this go around I'll probably be OK as long as I'm not too uncomfortable.

Are we the same person? Lol Also overdue at midnight tonight and also having a sweep Wednesday. Although, I'm nervous about doing the sweep cause I've always been in the "baby will come when ready" club but damn I'm ready for this baby man!
I'm due Monday (6/6) so I'm not late yet, but my doctor had been hoping I have the baby last week. He gave me the green light on Tuesday to start pumping to help induce labor. I tried it, but when Friday came around and nothing happened I had to chill out because my doctor isn't on call this weekend at the hospital and I don't really want another doctor to deliver my baby. So I'm torn right now. I know my doctor is going to suggest induction at my appointment on Monday, but I really didn't want to be medically induced. But at the same time I want baby to wait til Monday so I can have my doctor

I'm due Monday as well, my induction is scheduled for Friday because I can't go past 41 as I'm trying for a VBAC.
I was due on 6/2 with my first baby and it's making me very emotional that the baby hasn't come yet, and isn't showing any real signs that labor is coming soon. I had an appointment Friday (6/3) with a NST/ultrasound. The NST was fine, but the ultrasound showed that fluid levels were on the low side, but not low enough to induce. I go back Tuesday for another NST/ultrasound. I'm really hoping baby comes before then so I don't have to be induced.
just a few words of encouragement, I was due last Friday (the 3rd), had no signs of impeding labor, had been sitting at 2cm since 36 weeks, hardly any contractions, STM and LO hadnt even completely dropped yet. The only little hope I had was soft (not diarrhea) stools for the past 3 days.
Went to my 40 week appointment, fully intended to schedule an induction for the following week. my ob did a cervical check, I was 3cm 80% effaced so he did my first and only membrane sweep, it was not painful at all but doc said it probably wouldn't put me in labor. As soon as I finished with my appointment I was having semi regular contractions. Within 2-3 hours, in full blown labor! Had my boy 4-5 hours later! Hang in there everyone!
@Cheliebele hang in there! It sounds like we're in a similar position. I was due on 6/1, and my fluid levels are on the high side (still in the "normal" range, but close to the upper limit). I'll be back at the doctor early this week for another round of checking, and I'm also crossing my fingers for things to get moving on their own. How far overdue is your doctor comfortable with you going?
@snowwhite12 congrats on your new baby! I will be thrilled if labor is under 10 hours from start to finish.
I'll be over due as of Thursday and I have a feeling my little one won't make her appearance any time soon. I have no signs of real labor being near unfortunately. I'm getting really impatient now and just want to go into labor!
I'm only 2 days overdue and have been having stronger Braxton hicks. I'm guessing they are BH and contractions because they haven't been regular or painful. My mom felt my stomach last night while I was having one and said the felt like contractions. We'll see what my doctor says at my appointment Tuesday.
2 angel babies to watch over us- bfp 3/16/13, c/p 3/27/13- bfp 6/27/13, c/p confirmed 7/4/13- We will always carry you in our hearts
Not a club I want to join....but here I am. Are there doughnuts in the lounge? Lol...I was due 6/3. My first was 10 days late, my second was 7 days late so I'm not holding my breath. Good luck ladies.
thanks! @annaf2011 I'm not positive how long my Dr. will let me go before inducing. He mentioned last week that a lot of times in first pregnancies especially induction can lead to c-section which, I'm trying to avoid if possible. Yesterday I was having contractions, back pain, and cramps. I thought I was going into labor. Today, I feel pretty normal. Hope you're progressing!
I was due May 30th so currently 41 weeks. Being induced today at 7. I wish everyone the best with their babies who just got a little too comfortable. (:
I'm starting g to stress hard core. I'm only 40+3 and I know that 90% of babies are born by 41 weeks and I should relax but I can't help it. I don't wanna be induced cause of my not wanting to be in a hospital. Up until now each weeks felt like forever but now that week and a half I have left feels like it's so close and the baby won't make it. Ugh!
14 hrs and 15 minutes until I check in for my induction!!!!! I will be 5 days overdue and of course today was 93 degrees and tomorrow is supposed to be 95 degrees. So ready!
Good luck! I'll be 9 days past my due date tomorrow, and I have an induction scheduled for Monday. I'm not thrilled about being induced, but so far I've seen no big signs of labor.

Thought my water broke today so they had me go to l&d, it didn't. I'm kind of ok just waiting for the morning and sleeping in my bed. I'm sorry you have to wait it out almost 2 full weeks, 5 days is enough for me!
I would highly recommend finding someone to give you all acupressure massages. I had mine the day before I went into labor (but it may not have caused the labor cause I also had a sweep the next morning). It was so relaxing and made me feel better about being a week late. Sometimes just doing something like that to relax the body will help a ton!
Today is my due date, so I'm joining the club. Contracting a ton on my NST, but they're only Braxton hicks, so nothing really productive. I live rurally and my doctor just told me that there's no pediatrician available until Monday, so I'm hoping to hang in until then to avoid a long drive to the hospital in the next city. Good luck everyone!
Right. Joining the club now. Feel for you ladies. Never appreciated what it was like being "late". My 2 girls both arrived 3 days early. This boy does not want to come out. The endless messages, phone calls, hopes at night with every ache and BH is draining . I wish I could go and hide somewhere until the baby comes.
I'm 40+4 today. Was supposed to go in for my induction at 5am and OB called me at 2:30 am saying they didn't have a bed for me. So now I'm sitting here, just waiting for them to call and tell me when I can go have this baby....

That's the worse. I was so happy it didn't Happen to me when I went in at 41 weeks. I hope you have you baby soon!
I'm finally out of this club! Baby was born Saturday night, 10 days overdue. I would have been indicted today is he hadn't come yet, but he decided to show up on his own terms. Hang in there, overdue ladies!
Due today! Baby is sitting super low in my pelvis, but no contractions. I'll find out tomorrow if I'm dilated at all. My doc will let me go as long as 42 weeks before being induced, and I plan on waiting the full time so long as baby passes the NS tests. I do not want to be induced, and I'm a fan of letting nature take its course.
Why do so many women get pushed into induction at 41 weeks (as long as baby is not in distress)? Lots of studies suggest the real due date should be closer to 40w5d, any many could just be inaccurate altogether. Does everyone just get tired of being preggo and jump at the earliest date the doc suggests?

If people have a previous section they are supposed to not wait past 41 weeks. That could be a large chunk of 40 week inductions, that was the reason mine was 40+4 and frankly I was ready for it.

I'm taking the first date my doctor throws at me and I'm not even over due for about 12 more hours.

ETA the pediatrician actually thought he might be in the 38th week gestationally instead of 40+4.
