Hey @createillumination! We're doing okay. My OB took me off work in the unit today. Not surprising. I'm hoping to buy a month or more of doing administrative stuff before I start my full leave. She said they use the term Braxton-Hicks contractions to describe contractions that don't dilate your cervix, but any contractions, if left to go on and on, can dilate you. So, she said I should just go in if I have more than 4 contractions in an hour. She thought it was appropriate the other times I've gone in. She did say that if I go in again with contractions, she wants me to get steroid shots for the babies lungs.
All said and done though, she still feels like my cervix won't dilate and all will be well. I had a scheduled c-section with Emmy because I have a Chiari malformation (congenital) and we looked back and she had checked my cervix two weeks prior and I was 0cm dilated and 0% effaced. She thinks that bodes well for me carrying these guys to term. My friend (who just had a baby and is also a NNP, so we have weird humor) have been referring to my cervix of steel - hoping that holds true.

@emsmama15 my Braxton-Hicks contractions started worrying me last night. I had a lot of them over the course of about an hour. Way more than 4. WAY more. I should have counted them and timed them, but I was tired and just couldn't deal with that at the time. Thankfully, I happen to have an appt today. I'm wondering if they'll check my cervix.

@emsmama15 -- I hope they can work something out for you so you can buy some time before official leave! And, I love the cervix of steel. Hahaha.
@CarrieandRoy -- hope your appointment goes well and that your OB can give you some good advice re the contractions! I'm sure if they are concerned, they'll go ahead and check to make sure you aren't dilating....
@CarrieandRoy - I hope your appointment goes well and they do check you. It can give you some peace of mind, or know that you need to slow down!! Fingers crossed all is well...

The dr wasn't concerned but said she would check my cervix if I wanted her to. I decided not to disturb the area. She said since I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and the contractions only lasted an hour, she's not worried. She said to call if it happens again and doesn't stop.
