Re: Weekend Ticker Change, June 4&5

  • Weeks: 32

    Size:

What is next? (Appointments, milestones) had my growth ultrasound and baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, nearing 6 pounds! So I will need to go back for a second on a few weeks to track growth.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: a little concerned about the baby's weight.  Lots of kicking and rolls.

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?

We are taking a 2 hour training at the hospital and I have been reading Ina May's book, my DH is reading the birth partner book.

  • Weeks: 28

    Size: eggplant or coconut

    What is next? (Appointments, milestones)
On my way to an appointment now to get a medical note for my upcoming trip.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My back. My back hurts all the time.
I also have been getting by without buying any maternity shirts and suddenly this week I just feel like nothing fits anymore. So it's time to do a little shopping!

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
My hospital doesn't really offer any birthing classes but does offer a meeting with a personal lactation consultant. I plan on doing that in the beginning of July.

  • Weeks: 29

    Size: acorn squash

    What is next? (Appointments, milestones):
I am at the every two week appointments now. It's crazy how often I see my midwife at this point.

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I have officially filed for Intermittent FMLA until the baby arrives for my random contraction episodes that they didn't have a real explanation for. I can't afford to lose my job if they decide to put me on moderate bed rest again before my due date.

    Questions: Nada.

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
DH and I went to our one day express birth class yesterday. I don't think I learned too much. But I think it was extremely helpful for DH to understand the process and see other men there asking questions. He says he feels more prepared on what to expect and how to help me through the process. I must say our instructor was awesome, straight to the point and funny when warranted.

I am looking more forward to our breastfeeding class next month. I think that is what I am most clueless about. I am ready to soak up any extra information which will help me be successful at it.

10/2017: Twins confirmed with TTTS at 22 weeks.
10/10/17 Twin B passed after in utero placenta surgery
    11/2/17 Twin A & B born
11/26/17: Twin A passed after 24 days fighting in the NICU
    Benched 6 months
    BFP: 6/28/18 MC:7/16/18  BO
    BFP: 10/2/18 EDD 6/15/18

  • Weeks: 30!! (Aaah!)

Size: app says zucchini but that's dumb lol

What is next? (Appointments, milestones) I have an ultrasound Tuesday to check growth. Dr thinks I'm measuring a week small (as of 2 weeks ago) Hoping they say she's head down and healthy. My family usually has small babies so I'm hoping that's all it is.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: heartburn needs to die. I could deal with it during the day but it is so brutal at night. All I can say is this baby better have an adorable head of hair. (Please don't tell me about all the people who have horrible heartburn and bald babies)

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
We are taking a four week class at the hospital which started last Thursday. It was kinda fun, very interesting. I didn't really learn anything new but DH definitely did. And we watched some live births which was hilariously awkward in a room full of strangers.
  • @Lydiadiane

I'm with you, heartburn needs to die. I'm at the point where water gives me heartburn. Wtf? Also I am jealous of your small baby genetics. I was the smallest out of DH and my family at 9.8lbs. Boo.

I'm sure our babies will have a full head of hair. ;)

  • Weeks: 30

Size: Zucchini  (because that makes sense...)

What is next? (Appointments, milestones) Appointment on Wednesday and will be discussing DS's size and severe back pain.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I have severe back pain when sitting in a car, couch, etc. I think DS is pushing on some nerve because the pain is in the same spot.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? We have our birth classes tomorrow and Tuesday night then a breast feeding class next week. Fingers crossed that they're helpful!
  • edited June 2016
@midwestbaby I was the smallest in my family. My mom went past 40 weeks and i was 6.7lbs. She actually went late with 3 of us, all under 7.
  • Weeks: 28

    Size: egg plant

What's next? Nothing until the first week of July. Then another scan to check babies heart since baby wasn't cooperating.

Rants/raves/symptoms: My back has been starting to hurt, so I started seeing my chiropractor more often.  I guess carrying a two year old and having a baby belly aren't a good combo for backs.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? Nothing this pregnancy.  I took Bradley classes with my dd so I will review a few things closer to my due date.

  • Weeks: 29

    Size: acorn squash

What is next? (Appointments, milestones): I have an appt the 14th with my OB and then I see the specialist on the 22 to check baby's kidneys. Praying they are measuring normal!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: we bought the crib and dresser, it's feeling so much more real now! I'm still paranoid about things, like if I haven't felt baby move in a while. I think I'm driving my husband nuts with my worries.

Questions: anyone getting pelvic pressure after exercise or doing activities?

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? No classes but I'm reading a few books on how to have an unmedicated birth!
  • @squishy0511 I definitely get heightened pressure after activity. I'm not allowed to exercise right now due to contractions, but I'm sure that would exasperate it. It's always worth mentioning to your doctor though, because they may want to check your cervix.

    Weeks: 30

Size: Zuchinni... Apparently the baby is getting smaller

What is next? (Appointments, milestones) Appt tomorrow, just a general check up and a follow up ultrasound to make sure my cervix isn't shortening from contractions.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Just feeling generally uncomfortable. I can't believe I have 10 more weeks of getting bigger  :#

    Questions: nope

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
Not this time. Last time I read a couple of books and took the hospital birthing class. I'll probably re-read some of those materials and we'll do a hospital tour since it's a different hospital than last time.

  • Weeks: 28! Finally 3rd trimester

    Size: Eggplant, rollerblade

What is next? GD test on Wednesday

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: starting to get hit with acid reflux daily which is awful but baby is rolling around a lot which is neat

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? Yes we are taking natural childbirth classes, 3 classes this month each one about 3 hours long

  • Weeks: 29

    Size: pineapple

What is next? (Appointments, milestones) I had a 3D US last week and DD looks like my DH, it's crazy how accurate those are! Still have one more 4w appt this month then on to every two weeks.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: my pubic bone is still sore and tender but it's gotten better. Sleeping has become a battle, I can't get comfortable.

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? Not really planning on it, I should probably do some reading atleast. From what I was told, once you're in labor everything goes out the window.
    Expecting baby #1 August 2016
Already have three furbabies- Blake, Sydney, and Chester

  • Weeks: 28

    Size: Egglant,

What is next? (Appointments, milestones): I have a measuring ultrasound and a glucose test on Tues. I already passed my glucose at 16 weeks, but you have to re-test if you pass it early!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Back pain! And just general trouble getting up/ rolling over in bed/being on my feet a lot, etc. I did a little project yesterday (sanding and painting a little dresser for the nursery) and it really took it out of me! I am hurting today, I couldn't even get through my prenatal yoga class.

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? We are taking a class at our hospital, but it's not till mid-July (I am due Aug. 27 so that timing should be ok).
  • Weeks: 29

Size: acorn squash (?? By weight??)

    What is next? (Appointments, milestones)
appt next week, growth scan, cervix check (by u/s)

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
not having leg cramps when I'm sleeping but my legs are always feeling stiff during the night and when I wake up b

    Questions: nope!

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
I took Lamaze with my DD and it helped me focus and relax. I've been watching videos and searching here and there to refresh my memory. I do not want an epi because mine was placed but not "turned on" because I was complete by the time they finished. I had a spinal headache and it was not fun. The tub really helped me and I do want to find out if my new hospital has labor tubs.
  • Weeks: 31w yesterday

    Size: Asparagus

What is next? (Appointments, milestones) Have to have a cardiologist appt on Tuesday to check and make sure my chest pain I've had a few times isn't anything serious... And then start Non-Stress Tests in two weeks every week due to the gd, and another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check on growth as baby is a giant  :#  Hoping everything comes up okay over the next few weeks.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Trying to stay positive and see the light at the end of the tunnel. What with gd, baby boy measuring two weeks ahead, having bh and some chest pains- I'm just ready to be done already. But as long as he's healthy, I'm trying to stay positive (and counting down to some ice cream as soon as he's born LOL!).

    Questions:

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor? We are taking an online labor class that comes with a tour and a relaxation class at the hospital, and then a breastfeeding class, and a basic first month survival with baby since this is our first and my dh doesn't have any experience with newborns. So far we like the online class mostly, just can be kind of goofy and repetitive.

    Weeks:
30 weeks this past Saturday (sorry for the late post)

    Size:
    Zucchini

    What is next? (Appointments, milestones)
Appointment tomorrow and then appointments every two weeks after that.

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Some cramping, getting very uncomfortable, tons of movement I feel like he never stops! Had a 3D/4D ultrasound and the lady said something along the lines of "he doesn't have a ton of room in there" which makes me wonder how big he is when I should still have 30 weeks to go...granted I am on the smaller side, only 20 years old, and started off this pregnancy at 118lbs (currently 143).

    Questions:
Are growth scans a normal thing? Should I expect one in the near future? I'm really curious to how big my little guy is and what he's measuring.

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
Nope, I feel like that would just make me worry more. Whatever happens, happens. Also, I was in the room when my niece was born not too long ago so I feel somewhat prepared. Hubby and I are touring the hospital though soon which is exciting!
  • @midwestbaby I am in the same boat as you with my job. I also got taken off work last week for a few days and am still waiting for my FMLA paperwork in the mail. Our HR department is NOT good at staying on top of things so I have to keep asking for it and reminding the girl.
  • Weeks:
30 weeks on Saturday (I am late!)

    Size:
half of a Cheese Cake Factory cheesecake--or zucchini, but that seems small

    What is next? (Appointments, milestones)
Appointment Tuesday and getting Tdap shot

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I am having a lot of swelling! Other than that the symptoms have been normal and maybe even a little easy? I hate saying that and jinxing myself, but reading about other peoples struggles has really made me think that my swelling is nothing to complain about. Baby is pretty wild and people can see him moving from the outside so that's fun. My older son had a tournament this weekend and with all the cheering baby was going crazy--it was sweet.

    Questions:
Anyone else swinging back and forth between-Can't wait to have this baby! and OMG, less than 10 weeks left, I am not ready?

GTKY, taking any birthing classes or reading to prepare for labor?
No, but on our road trip this weekend we listened to The Birth Hour podcasts, I made sure to find ones that were funny and wouldn't scare DH too bad.
  • @BrunetteBabe722 I may be wrong, but I don't think growth scans are a routine thing unless your Dr thinks baby is measuring big or small. I have an ultrasound tomorrow because my Dr is measuring me at a week small.

@kristynmac that is exactly where I'm at right now.
