I am SO THIRSTY but drinking water/the thought of drinking water makes me gag! I am drinking lots of watered down OJ and decaf brewed tea with lemon. How strange is this? Anyone else?
Ugh, I hate the taste of water. I try really hard to drink more while pregnant, but it gags me and makes me sick. This time around though I haven't had as much trouble and my favorite pop actually upsets my stomach so unless hoping to start a good habit here and drink mainly water lol
Lemon has helped me a lot. But I am also a big Gatorade drinker. I've been splitting one Gatorade between two bottles, then refilling with water. That way I can still stomach it and I'm halving all the sugar and sodium and whatnot.
Yes! I thought I was a weirdo. All liquids are aversive to me. So I'm really struggling with this. I have better luck drinking water if I'm outside and the water has ice in it.
Yep. I had it with my last pregnancy because water tastes like what I imagine green aquarium sludge tastes like. Then I could only do iced water flavored with fresh squeezed orange juice and a splash of pure cranberry (the kind that is usually used for cooking). This time, I can't handle the acid of the orange and cranberry, it looks like it will be iced water flavored with grape juice. Who knows, it may be different tomorrow.
Same. Lukewarm water is the worst. We've been in Iceland this week and all the water has trace amounts of sulfur in it so it smells like rotten eggs which certainly doesn't help. Thankfully we are heading home today where at least I can gag over normal smelling water.
I was drinking loads of water before I got pregnant. Now I can't even do it. I buy a bottle of water and drink 2 or 3 drinks of it. I try drinking it out of the tap but savannah water sucks worse than bottle. Lol. So it's cranberry juice and sprite.
I have a bad reaction to most artificial sweeteners, so finding a flavored water had been an issue. I was just drinking regular water (iced down) but lately it just seems nasty to me. I tried what @BAJDesigns does, because I like POWERade but I'm leary of the sugar and sodium content. It's working well (today is the first day for me!) so I have to give you a huge thank you for the idea! I definitely wasn't hydrating enough.
Water makes my stomach hurts a lot. I barely have two cups a day. It's so bad. Juice anything isn't cutting it for me. Hopefully tomorrow appt. she can tell me something. Even this is my fourth pregnancy is totally different from the other three.
For those of you really struggling to keep down liquids maybe ask your doctors about the gels athletes eat to stay hydrated during marathons - not sure what's in them so I have no idea if they are ok during pregnancy or not.

I've been using Mio to help. I can't drink water without anything in it!
Also, it has to be ICE cold. Lukewarm water tastes like spit right now.
