Baby Names

Help us pick a name!!!

We're almost down to the wire...I'm 34 weeks and still have not picked a name!  We're having a baby boy and middle name is going to be Robert.  For first names we have Brennen, Brandt, and Cameron on the list.  Any thoughts?  I'd love to hear opinions and/or other suggestions!  Thanks!

  • Not a fan of Brennen. What about Brendan? Brandt is okay, but I do prefer pp suggestion of Bradley. I like Cameron best from your list.
  • Another vote for Cameron.

  • Cameron.

Agree with pp's that Brendon or Bradley are better other options.
  • I absolutely love Brennan but have only seen it spelled this way.

  • Ok this is making me feel better   Brennen is my fave.  I think Cameron is my 2nd fave.
  • Another vote for Brennan (rather than Brennen)
I'm not fond of the name meanings behind Brennan and Cameron though- if I chose based on name meaning I would choose Brandt over Brennan and Cameron
  • If we go with Brennen, we chose to spell it ending in en instead of an because we feel it looks more masculine spelled Brennen and prefer this spelling.

We are set on the spelling after lots of research, just trying to nail down the name now :)
  • Cameron would be my pick of the three options. I don't like the others at all.

  • dont love any of them, but love robert
  • The meaning of the name Cameron always throws it for me.  I like Brennen but Brandt doesn't do it for me. I like it visually but when I say it out loud it loses it's appeal. May I suggest Brooks Robert
  • My vote is for Cameron because it is 3 syllables and would help break up the name a bit.

    Brennan
  • If anything, if I saw the name, I'd assume that Brennen was a name misspelled in an attempt to make it suit a girl. Maybe if you make his middle name He-Man it will be suitably masculine?

I didnt say research supports one spelling over the other.  I said we have done our own research to help us decide which one WE prefer.  For example, there's plenty of polls that people have posted online about the spellings and we've asked many friends, family, and coworkers for opinions on spellings.  We have chosen our preference on the spelling so are set there. Brennen, Brennan, and Brennon are the most common it appears.  I understand everyone has their own preference, ours may be different than some and that's perfectly okay.
  • Great suggestion She-Ra! :D
  • Looks like I'm alone but I LOVE Brandt!  Love it!  Cameron is a great name too.

My comp doesn't let me quote so I copy/pasted your line above. Brennen and Brennon are not real names. If you look on Behind The Names. com, they both say "user submitted" which means made up. I could submit Jackassz if I wanted to, doesn't make it a name.

  • I love the sound and look of Brennan Robert but only spelled BrennAn. I just am not a fan of Brennen. Funny how something so small can make such a difference

  • I like Cameron best. Brennen is too confusing to me. Sounds like Brendon or Brandon, and he'll be spending a lot of time clearing up confusion as to which one his name is. (Kind of like being named Kirsten instead of Kristen...lots of people will get it wrong.)
  • I like Brandt and Cameron the best.

I was onboard with Brennan and had assumed you just made a typo. If you're insisting on the -en spelling then I think Cameron is a better choice. Brandt is a VERY common surname where I'm from so that would be an odd first name for me.
